The reason we are where we are today with the chaos is because for all these years we've done what the community wanted. We need to regain the seriousness this mod once had by making decisions players may disagree with. Think back to 2014/15 when the mod was so serious people were scared to cross lines accidentally. We're not saying we want completely serious like that again however, we need this to be a simulation community not Need For Speed.6 points

All that needs to happen is to add collision to one of the arcade servers, i guarantee that server will be the most populated. "Only trolls are complaining about NC". No, not at all, i've been playing since Late 2014, never been banned on ETS2. Collisions add a enjoyable danger to driving. if people want a full simulation, lets do a full simulator then, lets see how many of these ppl praising the 2 new simulation servers complain. Lets add: Go through red light = banned Overtake on solid lines = banned Overtake in 3rd lane on motorway = banned Play for longer then 4.5hrs without a 45min break = banned Take a double into a country that they not allowed = banned. Force truck speed limit to 56mph/90kmh Remove text chat. Remove tab menu. Remove player icons on map. People seem to be forgetting that this is a game, games are meant to be fun for all, not the select few full simulator players. TMP have added some stupid stuff in my time on here but this takes the cake.6 points

I can't agree with you more. Basically what you just write is exactly what I am thinking. Expanding Simulation 1 slot are those players who want to enforce people to play his rule and don't want to admit they are actually the minority. Since EU2 is always full on weekends, it shows that the majority want to have something that EU2 have but EU1 not. EU2 is a sweet balance of speed and realistic. You can't lose either one. What is the meaning of driving 300km/h in an empty server? They want to stick together and enjoy traffic (that's why they still drive on C-D). You might ask, how 150km/h is realistic? Then, what about Autobahn for cars? The speedometer scaled to at least 75mph or 120km/h, that means if the engine is powerful enough, the trucks in real life could accelerate to over 120km/h (forget about speeding). Driving at 120km/h or 150km/h is also part of the simulation (just like the manufacturer needs to perform some tests to make sure the truck is capable for some safety margin). And I don't know why only following the real-world traffic rule can be the simulation and any speed further than 110km/h needs to be at Arcade server tagged like only welcome for kids. If someone thinks collision is important than speed, like me and most of the drivers, will stick to Simulation 1 because they still want to drive together. Driving at 110km/h or more doesn't mean they are not going to ram somebody. Most of them get banned aren't due to crashing into someone intentionally for fun, they just don't know how to brake or overtake. A no collision server isn't the proper way to teach them to learn how to drive. If penetrating each other on C-D is fun, half of the players should've sticked to EU4. Forcing them to play in Simulation 1 only turn the minority into the majority. Trolls are still there because they need a collision server to ram you. EU1 is kinda empty, but at least you can drive there peacefully. But now, they have no choice but to go to Simulation 1. So they are now coming for you if you can't drive 90km/h+ (especially most of the EU1 players drive slower than 80km/h). Reckless (more precisely, novice) drivers will take the risk of getting a ban but still stick to a server which most of us are there. They aren't accepting the Simulation servers, but they simply have no choice. And finally, what I think the funniest part of this change is, TMP made two RACING CHAMPIONSHIP CAMPAIGNS this year. It is completely contradicted to chasing realistic.6 points

They only need to do one simple thing: just add collisions in one of the arcade servers and thats all we need , free speed and collisions.6 points

Well... This is almost exactly what I had suggested so I can't be happier! Thanks a lot. So many GTA fans complaining about the 110 Km/h speed limit... Haven't you seen that there are 2 servers with NO SPEED LIMITS? You can now go faster in Arcade servers than yesterday in EU#2 server, you should be happy too. And since Arcade servers are non-collision, no ramming, no blocking, no bans for the most usual reasons. Of course trolls will be on the Simulation servers, but like I said in my suggestion, since the Arcade servers have more relaxed rules, they don't need almost any moderation, so GMs can focus a lot more in the Simulation ones. Not like before, that 90% of the GMs had to be watching EU#2 and the "Idiots on the road".6 points
-
In my opinion... This change SUCKS. You can't stop trolls from doing what they're doing. Driving through big crashes or traffic jams is a lot more fun than just driving like singleplayer. If someone needs true trucking experience shouldn't he just play singleplayer? I'm okay with adding those "Simulation servers", but i'd love to Have at least one old server back (like Europe #2) Remember, this is just my own opinion.6 points

Suggestion Name: Removal of requirement for having trailer attached for /fix command on Arcade servers Suggestion Description: With the serious changes in all servers, after trying out the Arcade server I've noticed one small issue: while the /fix command doesn't have any cooldown whatsoever, it still requires the trailer to be attached. This can cause some issues in some cases, as abandoning the job will give you a fine, while taking the trailer from distant garage will set the closest service area to the one being closest to the trailer rather than the vehicle itself. The solution is to remove this requirement on the Arcade servers while keeping it on the Simulation ones. Any example images: None provided Why should it be added?: This would allow users to quickly repair the vehicle on the spot, after receiving large amounts of damage on the Arcade server without having to teleport to the closest service, which could happen to be quite far from the road, on which the accident has occurred as long as the vehicle has proper traction afterwards.5 points

This game is about driving trucks, if you want to speed. Go play need for speed or whatever, this is called a simulation game for a reason. The fact that you complain about staff work is funny, because you dont have a single clue how much work is done behind. You only see the top of the iceberg and yet you are already judging. This is an game update I dont get why are you comming after staff, but anyways I will say it once and then this topic is closed, for me. Each staff member gives the best of him. As a person that has never been in the staff team, how did you came to the conclusion that we are not doing our job? We cannot cover the whole map with admins. What you are saying is non-sens. You dont know how many people are dedicating their time to this even tho they could be enjoying another game or beign out with their family. This is the second time at least I see you complaining about staff, perhaps instead of complaining about the job we are doing. Maybe you should at least try to do something?4 points

Does the 5000+ web reports and 1000+ game reports daily sound like the players were happy to you? They weren't happy they were going where the most players were. This is a Simulation community not Need For Speed or GTA etc. Simulation is the main focus as it used to be and as it's going to be now.4 points

Just for reference for people here (might be interesting for you all) Here is a list of every country in the EU and what their speed limits are for Trucks, HGV's, special cargos etc https://www.promods.net/viewtopic.php?t=18254 Note that none of them go over 100 km/h (as far as i can see) .. so in my personal opinion, 110 km/h in a simulation server is very generous.4 points

For me personally I have to agree with the majority of people here who say that this is a bad idea. Yes having a more “simulation” focus is a good thing, but the implementation is way off, most of us agree that we use TMP not to go troll or to ram or to do a billion miles an hour and do a quadruple kick flip in a truck, (although it’s still hilarious to watch), but we using TMP to have fun with friends and to just drive how we want to drive. The question has has to be asked, why does the TMP staff think EU2 was such a popular server? From my opinion it’s because it was a good medium server, you still had speed limiters in cities and collisions, but you could drive how you want to drive, which was enjoyable and at the same time a test of driving skill and reaction time to something that happens ahead of you. Making 2 servers speed limited with collisions and 2 without limiters but without collisions just doesn’t make sense, yes, before anyone says it, ETS2 and ATS are simulator games, but as a good Youtuber once said, they are not true simulators, they are “arcade simulators” where you have aspects from one genre and aspects from the other, that’s what makes the games so much fun, that’s their premise essentially and with TMPs new setup, I feel it’s safe to say that what’s happening isn’t true to the games actual format, otherwise why can you turn off realistic settings, fines, speed limiters and set your stability super high? Yes es getting rid of the “GTA” players as people like to call them is good, but honestly it can be done by simply changing the physical rules and making punishments harsher for certain rules on certain servers, it’s really not that hard. As with save editing, well, having “native” trailer lengths is comic really, the old “triples”, done correctly, such as b triple (a b double with an extra short trailer added to the front), wasn’t an issue for anyone, collisions were fine, hitboxes, fine. It does feel like TMP is taking every ounce of fun and individuality out of MP and making it a glorified “play Single Player with friends” situation, and I have to agree that with such big changes, it should be put to a public vote before implementation to get people’s opinions of the changes and what people actually want, instead things were added and changed out of the blue without much warning and then people are expected to go, oh this is fine, without question, only it seems to have predictably backfired spectacularly. Dont get me wrong, trying to push for a more simulator feel is a good thing, but it has to be done in a way that caters for all drivers and currently, for drivers like me who enjoy relaxing and cruising around being able to drive at a speed I’m comfortable at and being able to watch chaos unfold out of my window, the current setup doesn’t work and I’m afraid will lead to an increased number of trolls and trolling going on with those playing by the rules getting screwed over time and time again while the rule breakers drive away laughing their heads off.4 points

I think that's the worst thing TMP ever did ... Why do I like to explain: SIMULATION SPEED LIMITER: Why? everyone should be able to drive as fast as he wants / STANDARD is possible in ETS2! ARCADE COLLISIONS INACTIVE:: Why? because others can not drive and some people are unable to manage it? and all this with the SAVE EDITING: WHY NO TRIPLES MORE IN ETS2? Have you been completely stupid ??? !!! Well, it will be time IFMP and / or HGVMP go live, will probably be better ... WHOM MY OPINION HAS NOT LIKED CAN OVERFLOW / IGNORE THIS (TMP BLÖDIS TAKEN) ... BEAUTIFUL SUMMER WISHED YOU!4 points

You have 2 servers without speed limiter, what's there to remove? And what would you "style of play" be? People driving at 170 Km/h destroying everything in their way? Please, remember that the games are Truck Simulators, not racing or wrecking simulators. If all you want is to drive fast, you chose the wrong game, there are lots of racing games in the market and if you want to be able to drive trucks as fast as possible and crash into others or be crashed into by others, there's SP, with the added bonus that you can't be reported or banned...4 points
-
Please, explain why you made this decision? We have 3 servers 1. simulation - few people 2. EU2 - mixed rules - full 3. Eu4 - empty (no rules) Just kill the most populated! What a twisted logic bring this idea to live?4 points
-
You are funny, because: 1. Old EU2 was a proof, that large group of people dont mind and like system of this server. EU1 was little populated. Many people want play style between strict simulation and arcade. 2. As was mentioned many times, no one want destroy simulations servers, co You can be happy anyway. 3. Is very interesting, that You write as justify Your opinion with text: "Everyone is Free, but your freedom ends immediately where the next person's freedom starts", and immediately in the next sentence You try force Your opinion to all players as only one possible. 4. World is complicated, is more than two boxes black and white. I finally see what is the point most of strict simulations players here - they were angry, that old EU1 was empty and a only few people want play with this style only. So now they are happy, that people who want play with colisions are forced play only simulations and they dont want change back, because they will have less populated servers again. That's how it feels all this reply for me. I do not get it, because no one want destroy their (now two!) simulations servers, so why they dont want satisfied other players with different style of gaming too?4 points

Overall this seems to be a nice move towards the roots of TMP/ETS2MP and should give the game more seriousness. Yet people expect the game to be their "playground" with unrealistic settings and what ever, even though the game has it in the title. (Hint: It's the word simulator) --------------------------------------------------------------- Players: *Complain about mass of reckless drivers, rammers etc.* TMP: *introduces simulation and arcade servers* Also Players: We hate those changes, because we can't drive recklessly with 150+ kph and ram other players --------------------------------------------------------------- ^Basicly many, if not most of the playerbase does complain about it. They expect changes, but not those that have a high probability of success in sight. If you have/had better changes in mind, why didn't you propose them to the TMP team (via feedback)? - Also see my cent below (More moderators are not a better change in this case) And I would like to remember you that we had the exact same situation, discussion and arguments back in the days when the speedlimiter was removed, but onyl the other way round. "People will drive more carefully when they can drive as fast as they can" - We see where this led to. Before you start argumenting about anything at this point, I would like you to read the second sentence of my comment again. Now ask yourself, is your argument (or idea/proposal) contrary to the definition of the word "simulator"? If yes, then it is probably a bad argument/proposal, if no, go ahead and recommend it via feedback or the respective forums. And 2 more of my cents: It's very interesting that quite a lot of people only created their forum accounts to comment on this topic. s/ Seems like good commitment to the community /s Iirc that were the true words of Eryk (aka Rootkiller) , one of TMPs (ETS2MP's) founders back in the early days of the mod.3 points

So many people complaining about the 110 Km/h speed limits... Still, they are all using Simulation 1 server. Why is this? My guess: 4200 slots. That's also the reason why those who prefer a simulation style played in EU#2 instead of EU#1. Not because of the "fun" or because they wanted to go faster. People saying that the "simulationers" are forcing them to use a server where they can't go as fast as they want... Have I or any other asked you to play here or there? NO, it was your choice. As it was MY choice to play in EU#2 server and risk being destroyed 4-5 times every day by those who only look for their own fun. How many times have you read something like "If you want to drive fast, go to EU#4"? Not so much, I guess. How many times have you read "If you don't want to drive fast, go to EU#1"? Quite a lot. Who was forcing whom? I'm not saying that now I will be able to play without being destroyed. There will always be bad or reckless drivers and trolls (and most of them will go into Simulation 1, no doubt), but IMO it will be easier to avoid the "Idiots on the road", since they can't go as fast as before in EU#2. And if it came to that, I'd always have the choice to go into one of the Arcade servers where no idiots on the road can destroy my truck. It's really unbelievable (to me) how so many people want no speed limits but also collisions. I would think that this is exactly a troll's dream... But I refuse to believe that a majority of the playerbase are trolls or wannabe trolls... Funny how so many people say now "Arcade servers are not realistic without collisions". And they are most likely those who used to drive in EU#2 at 150 Km/h in a truck, using the grass or the emergency lane to overtake others, crashing into others just because they were in their way... What does this have to do with "realistic"? Where in the world can you see the things that everyone were seeing in EU#2 server? The only thing I would change: Make one of the Arcade servers have also 4200 slots. Like this: Sim 1 - 4200 Sim 2 - 2300 Arc 1 - 4200 Arc 2 - 2300 If only to make it more balanced. This would give the chance to have as many players in Simulation servers as in Arcade servers, so there would be no way to complain about "I'm forced to play in Simulation because it's where most people are". Since the "majority" wants to drive as fast as possible, Arcade servers should be full at every time... Shouldn't they?3 points

Im just thinking what will happen after the update: 1st: the troll behaviour will slightly change. Instead of recklessly overtaking the troll may do more direct ramming 2nd: at the CD the amount of accidents will increase, as the players need more time to overtake slower trucks. 3rd: you will lose some of your player base, because they cant join the servers. you basically removed the number of available slots by about 2500. 4th the trolls will spread out a bit more evenly between Simulation1 and Simulation2, which results in anger for those players, that drove at eu1 + eu3 before, as they are encountering more trolls3 points
-
Funny you comment EU2 is the way to go. I don't know if you've been playing long enough to understand that EU2 rule set actually contributed A LOT fot this to happen for such a long time. It's no disrespect from strict Simulation players, It's actually the other way around: Arcade styled players demand their right to drive however they want BETWEEN Simulation styled players - and that is where the disrespect stands. "YOU" want your right to play YOUR own way, but "I" want my right to play MY own way as well! That's why the community who are here to Simulate have been SCREAMING for this change. And as I said in a previous post: "The only thing that there's no point in, is to stubbornly demand to play and do whatever the fudge you want among drivers who are here to SIMULATE in a SIMULATION SERVER. And to all players complaining that they can't crash, that just shows what you're here for and why this change is so much needed."3 points

Hello, I might have a question that might not be completely suitable for the feedback system, so I'm just going to ask it here first. This is quite an extreme change, in my opinion, but I do understand why the team wants to implement this change. The only thing is, I am not so sure if the community is really agreeing with this change. There are 2 very opposite types of players in this community, one that wants realism, and one that that is playing more for the fun and freedom you get in the game. You were able to see those opposites perfectly in the old europe 2 server. And you know what, that is exactly the reason europe 2 was the most popular, since you could choose what you wanted to do in the server. The problem now is, that the so called *trolls* will still move to a different server. And you can be sure, that they choose a server with collision on. You could see that immedietly after this change, every *troll* instanly moved to simulation 1. So.....nothing has changed really. So, the rules are changed....alot. But the basic problems that I guess the truckersmp team is trying to solve, is not being fixed by this change. Again, I understand the change to focus more on realism, but this sudden change might have and extreme effect on the amount of players that will even join. It would have been nice if people actually knew this was going on in the background, or you could have even added a poll at some point. To actually see directly what the playerbase wants. This didn't happen as far as I know. But well, I guess i'm just a normal player, that is on the brink of leaving. I have talked to some people, and I am not the only on that thinks this. And yes I am going to send more information to the feedback system, but I just feel that this needs to get out there. Happy Trucking ETS23 points

The old system was fine before EU 1 was a thing for people who wanted simulation and Eu2 just wasn't, now taking away both those options is a bad play in my opinion but I doubt community backlash is going to change it3 points

Simulation up to 110km/h What a joke. Useless update. You have to start doing job ingame, someone has to enforce rules, if not you, who then? Translators? Devs?3 points

Love the idea of 110, even tho I am often driving external contracts which means 90 km/h top so, not a big deal from me. But globaly I like this update because it will force players to play appropriately the role of a truck. You will almost never see a truck speeding 150km/h IRL. _Russian3 points
