  10. You haven't been kicked by Admin or any in-game Moderation here but, by our server system itself. The reason for the kick is mentioned as it says Unreliable connection. It might be that your ping was too high and to avoid desync into other players', we have a system where after a specific ping, you get kicked from the respective server and you can be rest assured that such kicks are temporary and you can just join back to that server provided you've a good or decent ping.

  14. Mistakes of setting up a VTC Many people are interested in setting up a VTC of their own and want their VTC to become popular in some degree. It's common that people jump ahead of themselves when setting up a VTC of their own and sometimes their ideas are ahead of the necessities they need which can negatively impact the VTC both short term and long term. I will go through some of the mistakes made when setting up a VTC. 1. Buying what they don't need. It's easy for people to get ahead of themselves in the start, and will set up unnecessary materials. These include: Websites - Website are a great material to use for your VTC, however they cost money to keep up. When starting out, a website is not vital to promoting your VTC however it can be useful long term. Do not commit to buying a website host at these early stages. Domains - When people first make their VTC, they want to keep it their own and will buy a domain. Although domains are not entirely expensive, they are also not really needed when starting your VTC. A domain is the name that appears on a web link and can be connected to a company email system e.g. (www.[ComanyName].com) and (help@[CompanyName].com) These make your company look more professional and although that's what you may want, it will not impact your first stages of recruitment. Logo - Although some people can make their own logo, others may look elsewhere for a logo and will sometimes pay for a logo. This is not a good investment for your VTC. Your company is starting off, meaning that things will change through the process and a lot of the time, logo's and names will be changed at the beginning. Keep a simple, free logo and if you want to change it, you don't have to worry about wasting the money you spent. Trade-Mark - It's normal for people to want to keep what they make, however you do not need to trademark the company name in the start. Similar to the logo point, people will change their mind on the name of their VTC and even if you are dedicated to that name, there is always a chance that you may prefer another name. Let your VTC expand and improve before you pay for a trademark. All of these materials are great to have for your company and I would suggest investing in them, but don't splash your cash in the early stages. 2. Recruitment Recruitment is the front line of any VTC. The way you recruit will determine the successful of your VTC and the people you have in your company. Take these notes to your advantage and don't stay blind to recruitment. Don't expect people to join immediately - Although this may sound very basic and obvious, it's easy for you to forget about this. As soon as you have made your VTC, all you want now is for people to join, and this is how VTC's reach their end. Instead of wanting people to join, you need to be think of 'how am I going to get people to join'. This can be a challenge sometimes but you build a baseline of your recruitment, so how are they going to apply, what is needed for them to apply, what materials can I use to get it out there. Don't push recruitment on people - When recruitment, all you are thinking about is getting people to join, and this can blind you from why people join. The last think you want to do in a recruitment sense, is force it on people. By force it on people, I am talking about heckling. Don't make people join and stay approachable, people want a friendly experience in a VTC so make recruitment more human. This means that you see the player as the player and not a number. Don't start recruitment without a foundation - The last thing you want to happen, is for people to join, and not know what to do next. You need materials available for players, a place where the community will communicate and chat. A great example to use, would be Discord. This is a great platform that enables you to make announcements, get the community involved and communicate to your members. Always have a goal - Even when you get the members, you may loose people and recruitment will fall. The best way to deter this, is to have company goals, both for the whole company and individual members. This may include making a rank structure (the more you do, the higher you go), having convoys (keeping the community active). The main point, is to always have something for members to do / reach. All of these points will help you successfully build your VTC and although there are many more mistakes people make, these are the mistakes which will impact you most when first starting. The rest are learning curves and a chance for you to improve your VTC.

  15. SCS as a developer are rather intelligent when it comes to their game design. Not only have they made the game more like an arcade, but at the same time, have allowed the serious players to easily turn everything back to realistic and even more. There are multiple Developer Commands that allow the user to change not only the physics of the truck, but also the trailer, its transmission and other useful things that are usually disabled. Below are a few commands I personally use to further increase the realism when I drive. g_hshifter_synchronized 0 This command is one of my favorites. For many of you drivers out there, you'll know that a Synchronized transmission is basically a regular car manual. However, a Non Synchromesh Gearbox, Also known as a crash-box, means that the transmission is unable to just sync the gear cogs to the same rpm by itself. this is where Rev Matching, Double clutching and floating gears comes into play. For those that have been floating gears and thought they had it down pat without this command, think again. This will change everything and will come in very handy (especially for us Australians and Americans etc) in practicing for the real life practical. For those interested in learning this Difficult TransmissionL i have a video that also helped me when i first started: Note: In your Settings, Toggle 1 is your Ranger, and Toggle 2 is your Splitter. g_simple_parking_doubles 0 This would be my second Favorite. this allows the user to choose the option "park it where you want it" with B-Doubles (usually grayed out). For me, reversing B-Doubles is not only an amazing skill, but its challenges make it extremely fun, especially when it comes to a heavily confined area. for those interested in learning how to reverse one correctly, and effectively, id recommend this video as its what i used to learn mine and eventually get my MC (Real licence): g_truck_stability 0 This command changes the stability of the truck to a more realistic setting. (no more going 100 KM/h around sharp bends without rolling, good like making it around them at 60). g_trailer_stability 0 Same as above, lowers the stability to a more appropriate setting. Hopefully this intrigues some people out here and helps!

  16. EDIT: There is now a video tutorial at the bottom of the thread. (2019-05-02) Do you want to get started with save editing? If your answer is yes, then you came to the right place. Before you remind me, I am fully aware there's already a topic on this: I wanted to create an in-depth tutorial for those who wants to learn save editing. It contains pretty advanced technical information. And It's easy to make mistakes, I do it quite often too. Please note I will only support Windows OS (64 bit) users. Step 0: Obtaining game def (definition) files Before we start, you can create a folder where you'll copy and extract the def files from ETS2 (and ATS, depending which game you play). It's not mandatory, but it's highly recommended in order to see the path and where each def files are located. You can use this tool provided by SCS Software, and place it in the folder you created. Then you'll have to copy the def file (def.scs) in that folder too. The file is located in the game installation directory: "C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/MY TRUCK GAME/" (Please note that when you're in the file explorer, it uses the back slash '\'). If it's a non-steam version, it would be in the Program Files. When you have both files in the folder, just drag the scs file into the extractor. Then wait until the black window disappears. You should be able to see some files and folders. You can explore the files in that def folder to get familiar with it. For example, if I want the chassis from the cement mixer trailer, it would go like: "def/vehicle/trailer/cement_mixer/chassis.sii" Step 1: Downloading required files -Text editor You can try the vanilla Notepad from Windows, but I personally recommend using Notepad++. Any other text editors should do. Another reason I love Notepad++ is because I can search for all occurance of a certain value and replace it with another value. Notepad++ Website -Sii file decrypter for ATS & ETS2 You'll need it to decrypt the save files. You can try to find or compile a different one if you want. Download Non Java based decrypter (404 not found) Sii_Decrypt for format 2 Sii_Decrypt for any format There's a new version with a GUI. Thanks to @Ali365Dash for mentioning it. Step 2: Applying necessary changes You'll need to make sure your save games will save in the appropriate format. Open your File Explorer and go to your Documents. For ATS and ETS2, the folders should be respectively American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2. Once you found the folder, open config.cfg with your text editor. Then search (Ctrl+F keys on keyboard) for g_save_format, and change the number value to '2'. Then save the file (Ctrl+S keys on keyboard). If you want to do it on both games, you need to change it for each one. You'll also need to start the game in single-player, load the save game you want to modify later, save it, and quit the game. This will update your profile in the new save format. You only need to do it once for each profile you want to edit. Step 3: Save editing (now the fun part begins!) Very important! Always create a backup before each modifications! I simply make a copy before editing each time. I do not take responsibility for broken save files, game crashes or unexpected game behaviors. In the truck game folder (Documents->Your Truck Game), go in profiles folder (don't touch the ones that has ".bak"). At this point, I would recommend to sort the folders by modified date if you have a lot of them. Go in the folder that has been modified the most recently. Then go in save->autosave, and you should see a file called game.sii where all the magic is going to happen. Why autosave folder? Because that's the last modified folder when you quit the game. Another personal recommendation: copy the decryptor here for quick use. Make sure you are not running the game while doing this. Drag the game.sii (hold left click) into SII_Decrypt.exe. When you release your mouse button, a black screen should popup with some text in it. When the black screen disappears, open game.sii with your text editor. Bad result: Good result: Those _nameless.xxx.xxxx.xxxx are just addresses to differentiate each block. From here, I'll separate the different sections of save editing you can mess with. I also recommend to copy the address of each block you plan to modify, so you can refer to it quickly. You'll have to do it each time you save the game and decrypt the profile. -Bank -Player -Vehicle (truck) -Player Job -Trailer -License Plate -Paintjob/Skin -Color -Accessories Videos I might add more to this tutorial, or share knowledge from users with expertise in save editing.

  17. Hey Truckers, For example: For example: A game moderator speaks to you and says that you should please change your Tag. Imagine that your English is not so good that you know what the moderator wants you to do. Then it would be cool if the messages of other players are translated directly into your chosen language. Suggestion Name: Ingame Chat Translation Suggestion Description: You can use the TAB menu to set the language into which the chat should be translated. You can also set whether the "Chat Tanslator" is active or not. Let's assume I set the translation to "German". Now all messages from all players are displayed in my language. Any example images: / Why should it be added?: It should be added because it should make playing easier for people who have not spoken English since birth. Also, it would be much easier for the game moderators to see if insults are being written in the chat or not.

  18. Thanks for your suggestion, however, closing the road will only cause chaos and backlogs as people would be confused. The road itself isn't a bad road. If we close it, it will only mean that players only find another 'road' to drive on and the same routine will happen. Have a great day.

  28. Congratulations to you lot, well done! We had really great entries this month. I personally would say, if you can pull off a proper photo manipulation, it does indeed show there's way more time and effort gone into making it look good together. Overall, we all should be proud of our own work. We all have our own unique styles to edit pictures and that's all that really matters!
