  12. Hello, I'd like to ask what have happened to the direction the project was heading to, which was road to true simulation experience. That is, realism is our main focus. Currently I believe we kinda forgot what the idea of that was, and only "use it" to explain much longer ban lengths. Yes, longer ban lengths were definitely an improvement, lower realistic speed limit, etc. These are all great changes that were made towards RTS. However, as we all know, the Save Editing rules were changed by the Game Management, essentially removing all the restrictions and only leaving "If your save edit is causing issues on the server (lags, etc.), you'll be asked to remove it. GMMs reserve a right to ban you for the SE, at any point if they deem it necessary". So, now everything, and I mean everything is allowed. Floating/clipping cargo (cows, hay bales, trains), very heavy cargo on small trailers (61t on a sma one axel), b-double second trailer (tandem) connected to the 5th wheel, etc. Everything simply denying any laws of physics. My question is, why are we not doing anything about this? Why are we allowing the game that was meant to go full simulation experience, become an arcade sandbox, where everyone can make any abomination they want, and destroy the experience for people that actually want to play this game in a simulation style? Maybe we should consider only allowing this type of save editing only on the Arcade server? That way, these type of people can still do their thing, and people wanting to play a simulation game, enjoy their experience on sim servers. I'd really want to know Project Manager's/Coordinator's answer as well as GMMs, because I believe it's a topic that should provide the view from both Moderation as well as Project future side. Kind regards, .Christopher

  15. I have been constantly working on something for the Truckers MP Community, whether it be Events for my old VTC or my current one, associated duties, TMP Staff duties, or simply driving in convoys or with friends, pretty much every day, for almost 1 Year now. I think it is about time I took a step back to allow some time for myself. Today, I took leave from the Truckers MP Staff team as my first step towards doing this. This is one of the most amazing communities I have ever been a part of, I never, ever expected to be making so many good friends here, some of whom I am very lucky to even get to know in the real world. I am not going to single out anyone here, you will know who you are I will never be far away, I will be back in the team soon. You will also see me around with my VTC from time to time, that will never change! Take care of yourselves; Peace and love; RB

  29. Hi! Not too long ago I bought the Special Transport DLC, and when I tried to select a special delivery in TruckersMP, the server kicked me. So I went to read the rules, and I read that it is not possible to select a special delivery. But then I thought: Why not allow the players to be the escort vehicles??? (But of course, players who have some knowledge about what maneuvers to perform and what to do as an escort vehicle) That mechanic could give TruckersMP a lot of playability, and it would make the Sköda car more useful. But allow special deliveries within a limit of hours, for example, from 03:00 to 08:00, and from 15:00 to 20:00, having 5 hours to select special deliveries, and 7 hours to only select normal ones, running on game time and not on actual time

  31. When we have to look for a new/additional upper staff member, there are a couple of things we are doing. Together with Project Coordinators and the senior manager of a certain upper staff sub-team, I look for a replacement/new person. Internally, staff members have the option to inform us (coordinators and me) about their "dreams" within the staff. They can provide us these "dreams" by filling in a form where we ask about which rank they dream of, as well as their motivation for said rank and what they would like to achieve. (there are also some other questions they have to answer.) People who submitted this form, are taken into account as well if we need to look for a new upper staff member. After we have a couple of names, we look into those people. We check their activity and quality of work. If we take multiple people into account, we set up an interview together with this person. After all interviews, we make a decision. In most cases, the other upper staff members of that certain sub-team are asked about opinions too. This is a tricky question. The Project Manager and Project Coordinator roles are similar in quite some aspects. The Project Manager has access to more systems than Coordinators. For example, I have access to Patreon, PayPal, ticketing systems, and so on. This is mainly because access to these systems should be kept to a minimum. The Project Manager is the one who has the 'final decision', for example when something impacting the future of the project has to be decided. Though, Project Coordinators work closely together with me to make sure we achieve as much as we want to. Meetings together with Developers are lead by the Project Manager, while meetings internally with the other staff members are lead mainly by Coordinators. Coordinators are also in charge of making sure that events and add-on related content are meeting the expectations. Apart from this Coordinators work together with me to make sure everything related to upper staff operations goes as smoothly as possible. The Project Manager is also in charge of the upper staff. This means that I have to decide whether to punish upper staff if they break rules, are disrespectful, or are hindering operations. These punishments are different from the punishments which get applied to the profiles of TruckersMP users. The punishments I apply to upper staff, are mainly only internal. Though, if the 'violation' is very bad, a suspension or removal will be applied by me. When I became a Project Manager, there was one thing I really wanted to achieve, which is the support of the beautiful ProMods modification. I am so happy that together with the Developers, the awesome guys at ProMods, and multiple TruckersMP upper staff members, I have been able to partner together with ProMods and bring their modification to our servers. Another partnership we have is the one with TruckersFM. Together with them, we have already brought some nice things to the community, and hopefully much more will come in the future. Stay tuned for that. Something I pushed for as well, was to give more people access to Game Moderation feedback. This is the most used category in the feedback system, which resulted in longer waiting times. Game Moderator Leaders and Game Moderator Trainers were granted access to this, so they can help out as well and help reduce the waiting time. Apart from that, I pushed for (monthly) staff meetings which help with communication and getting everyone informed about ongoing things. It is also nice as this shows staff who actually are 'the people behind the user names'. Those meetings sometimes happen with face cam. Another thing which I wanted to introduce, was Patreon. Our Patreon campaign is quite successful, and we are so happy to see the continuous support from Patrons. I'm happy to say that we have been thinking of and working on new features that will be available for Patrons. Obviously, we do not want to forget about the non-Patrons, so we will provide new items too. Though, Patrons will most likely receive additional things, in return for their subscription. Patreon plays a vital role in the long-term future plans I worked out for TruckersMP, hence why it was introduced and will be focussed on along with other things. For 2021, I would like to see multiple long-awaited features being introduced to TruckersMP. There were things teased/brought up years ago, and it is getting time to finally make those plans come to reality. Though, as this is a voluntary project with 1 client developer with a massive knowledge (mwl4), it was quite hard to bring features to the client. When @ShawnCZek joined as a client developer, we finally had an additional person who can work on client features. Since he has been a client developer, he has brought quite some useful features used daily by the community. For example, the support of ProMods and Patreon along with other features that were planned for years. Though, for the major features, a lot of input is needed from mwl4, which turns out to a hard challenge for him to combine TruckersMP together with commitments in the real world and his job at CD Project RED. Looks to be answered above in Q2.

  36. Hey! Thank you very much for your suggestion Your idea has already been brought up multiple times in the past, however, while discussing it internally, there were many contrary opinions, which is why it wasn't decided since. We definitely understand the reasoning behind your suggestion and we agree that people can change after a while and that someone who has four bans from 2016, as an example, should be allowed to apply after such a long time. One of the issues we have, is that reworking the system would require a lot of time for our developers because the whole recruiting system would have to be changed. Currently, only people with less than 4 bans (1-3 bans) can apply, players with more bans can't use the recruiting system. Although it is possible for our developers to change this system, it requires a lot of time and effort and that's one of the issues we have. There are other things on our agenda that are currently more important, many of these things can't be disclosed to the public yet but they need much time as well and we only have a limited number of developers with limited time. That's why it's possible that your suggestion can't be realized within the close future. What I want to guarantee at this point, however, is that I will make sure to bring your suggestion up and discuss it internally again. There are many positive aspects it has but as always, there are also negative aspects we have to keep in mind. We don't want to make a rushed decision, so discussions between the Human Resources and Development Team, as well as with the managers are needed. Nevertheless, I will make sure to forward your suggestion and if it comes to a change of the recruiting system, we will update the community as usual. I hope this answered your question. If you have anything else to add, don't hesitate to let me know. Have a great and calm evening! Kind regards, NeonLeon Human Resources

  42. Thanks @Lasse and the other members of the TruckersMP team for creating the Summer Q&A. I believe that the approximation and a harmonious relationship between TruckersMP Staff with all the players that participate in the community is very good for the development of the same. However, this opens up a great opportunity for everyone to ask their questions in more detail or something simpler but which is generally asked by everyone. An interesting Q&A topic and I think it can answer a lot of questions from players is "When you're recruiting the Staff" made by @TeamAudi_Chemistry_EM.

  43. Hello there, I appreciate your interest in our recruitment procedure. I will be happy to answer all of your questions thoroughly. Question 1: Firstly, you begin by showing interest in one of our teams by submitting your application via our Recruitment system. Once your application has been received, the Human Resources Team will begin to review the application. If you fulfill all requirements, your application will be marked as “Under review” and then reviewed along with the management of the team you’re applying for. After we’ve made a decision, we either decline your application or invite you to the first interview which will be an interview with two HR members. Within this interview, we’ll check your performance prerequisites, qualifications, and motivation for the job. If we are happy with the result of your first interview, we will invite you to a second interview which will be conducted by the management of the team you are applying for alongside the Human Resources team. If we are convinced of you and your skills, we will proceed with the on-boarding. After that, some teams require you to go through a training and others don’t. Sometimes, you also have to pass a few tests with day-to-day situations that you learn within the training sessions. Once you finish your training, you will be promoted to a full member of our team, while some departments still have trial periods of a few weeks before you gain all permissions. During these trial periods, your work will be observed and you get feedback on how you can improve. As soon as you are a full member of our team, your work will still regularly be checked by your team leaders or managers and you often get feedback for your work. To answer your question, the Human Resources team primarily handle the first interview while the respective team management will handle the second interview. Question 2: Overall, the chart your provide from 1 to 5 seems accurate. This is a question that we expect users to answer honestly while using their best judgement. If you know that your English is not very strong, we hope that you will refrain from selecting 4 or 5, for example. On the other hand, a native-English speaker could very likely select 5 and this should be accurate. It is important to keep in mind that during the interviewing process, we will evaluate your English and can also make our own estimation of your English skills. Before and while on the team, you should always be honest. Lying about your English knowledge is not suggested since this will reflect in your communication between staff in the future. Question 3: I will start by making it clear that having knowledge of the English language is required. After all, the main language of communication in our community is English. Inside our staff team, all of our staff must be able to properly communicate in English since this is the language we use to communicate in most cases as it is a mutual language between all of our staff members. On the other hand, having perfect English skills is not needed! Depending on the role you are applying for, you may not have to use the English language as often as others. For example, a member of our Event Team should be fluent in English as they will need to communicate quickly and efficiently with their colleagues and also with the public. On the other hand, an Add-On team member would only need enough English skills to clearly communicate their ideas with their managers and other staff, but other than that, you are not posting English text publicly or similar, in most cases. To conclude, the better your English, the easier your work within our team will be, however, having it as a first language is not at all needed! I hope this has helped answer your question regarding English skills. Question 4: This is not really something we usually suggest to applicants since improving your English skills is something that should be done personally. However, I would like to share some of my personal suggestions to help increase your English skills. Firstly, the best way to learn a new language is by communicating in that language as often as possible. For example, if you have a native-English speaking friend, perhaps you can arrange frequent voice or video calls with them and have a regular conversation, in English! By doing so, you will learn new words, expressions and similar! If you would rather work on improving your English on your own, you can for example check out some language-learning sites such as Duolingo, etc. Question 5: This is something that is quite hard to answer for several reasons. Firstly, everybody has different expectations of a level-3 English-speaker, for example. That being said, what you consider a 4/5, may only be considered 2 or 3 out of 5, for me. Not only that, but we don't have a fixed number that applicants should answer to be accepted. What I can do is share my personal preference when reviewing applications, however, these numbers are based on my opinion on English levels! Translator - To be a translator, it is rather important to be strong in the English language for a few reasons. Firstly, you will be translating several texts from English to another language, meaning that you should be able to fully understand what you are translating in order to avoid confusion and inaccuracy with the final result of the translation. Also, you will need to be able to create clear and properly-formulated texts in English after translating it from another language. It is good to be very strong in your native language, however, being strong in English is also quite necessary to once again remain accurate with your translations. Altogether, I would personally give preference to applicants with a 4/5 or higher in regards to their English skills when joining the Translation Team. Support - Once again, this is a role that requires fairly strong English skills since you will be discussing technical things such as email changes, password resets, technical problems and more. Even as a native-English speaker, it can be difficult to clearly pass along your message when handling such types of work since you need to be specific and clear. Because of this, I would also give preference to applicants with a 4/5 or higher score in English. Event Team - This is once again a role that requires clear and proper communication. When on the Event Team, you will be managing events and having to communicate with several people verbally or via text. These people include your managers, colleagues as well as the public. Because you will be giving convoy instructions and similar, having proper English is preferred. For this team, I also prefer applicants with at least a 4 out of 5 for their English skills. Game Moderator - Of course, you will begin as a trainee, but usually, people advance to the Game Moderator role, or at least, that is their goal. While having proper English knowledge is once again important for this team, I would personally deem is slightly less necessary as the teams listed above. You will need to properly understand and communicate your thoughts during the training period in English with a Game Moderator Trainer, so you should have enough English skills to do that properly. Afterwards, you will need to be able to clearly explain what users have done to deserve the bans you issued via the Ban Appeal system. Because we must be professional, giving proper explanations that the banned player can understand. To summarize this, applicatns with a minimum of 3 out of 5 will be given preference, personally. Add-on Team - For this team, as I mentioned above, you are not usually communicating the public while performing your duties. However, you should be able to properly understand and also return your thoughts to your colleagues and manager to avoid confusion and ensure that your projects are properly completed within the expectations of your manager(s). Because you are often working with other things than words as part of the Add-On Team, I personally feel that anything above a 3, possibly a 2 should be sufficient for this role. Media Team - Finally, this team is quite similar to the add-on team, in my opinion, anyways. You don't usually communicate via text with the public but rather photos, videos and similar. While these banners and videos do often have text in them, there is usually another staff member that would be happy to help if you are ever in doubt of your English text or similar. For this, I would expect the same English skills as the Add-on Team. Once again, these are in no way official requirements, they are simply an estimation and my personal opinion, so I hope that you can understand that! I hope that with my answers to your question, you are better-informed regarding our recruitment procedure and expectations. If you have more questions regarding this subject, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me via the forums! Have a great day. Kindest regards, TFM DJ ccowie TruckersMP Human Resources

  44. All official rules are in place during an official TruckersMP event. Although, there are some that are different from the public servers. Be sure to follow these rules when attending an official TruckersMP event. Last updated: 01 Oct 2022 Overtaking - It is not permitted to overtake during a convoy. If you are overtaking, you will be kicked from the server on your first offence. The second offence will be a ban depending on the situation. Cars - Use of cars are prohibited during any convoys organised by TruckersMP as they are reserved for staff. The only cars you will see during a convoy will be either Game Moderators or the Event Team. If you are caught using a car during an event, you will be kicked from the server. Repeated offences may result in a ban for the duration of the event. Reckless Driving - Please ensure that you are keeping a safe distance from the player in front of you, to ensure you can stop safely. There will be Game Moderators watching over the event, making sure that participants are acting appropriately. Free-roam - Roaming throughout the server and not following the event is not allowed. You must be participating with the convoy, or in the surrounding areas. Failure to comply will result in removal from the event server. Convoy Control - You must follow convoy control instructions given by the TruckersMP team. They are there to ensure that everyone is driving in the correct direction and alert you of upcoming hazards. You can identify them by their coloured usernames and in-game tag! They will be driving a police car. Their instructions must be followed at all times, otherwise, you will be removed from the event server. Signs and barriers - You must adhere to any overhead signs (Including the "Red X"), directional arrows, barriers and any other object placed down on the road. You must not drive around them and/or ignore them as they are placed to ensure your smooth passage at our events. Trailers - Unless explicitly stated otherwise, a trailer is required to participate in our convoy's. For Euro Truck Simulator 2; you should not exceed two (2) trailers. For American Truck Simulator; you should not exceed two (2) trailers with the exemption of the base triple. Heavy Haul cargo is not permitted for either game (empty trailers are permitted so long as you are not causing a gap). If your trailer is causing gaps in the convoy, you may have to pull over or teleport to the Services. Traffic Signals - The convoy will have priority over traffic signals. It is not required for convoy participants to stop at red traffic signals, or yield at junctions unless directed otherwise. The event servers are only online for the duration of the event, they are not available 24/7.
