  5. As one of the few users that actually uses a Steam Controller, I had this exact same problem as of the latest update. Since ETS2 changed the Steam Controller settings in the update, there were bound to be a few problems, and it took me several hours of trial and error to get everything working again. I've got a few fixes here for you, depending on the problem you run into: Make sure you add TruckersMP as a program to Steam. Simply use the dropdown menu under Games and click Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library. Make sure you have your ETS2 setup in your personal bindings menu, otherwise you'll have to set it up all over again. In the game, make sure your controller settings are how they should be. I've personally had issues where it automatically sets itself to Keyboard+Mouse. Make sure you select the Steam Controller option - it should be in there, though it looks a bit wonky with a lot of numbers. Also make sure your throttle and break settings are correct. In my case it automatically assigned these to my stick and not to the bumpers. This one took me a while to figure out. Please tell me if these solutions solve the problem for you. If it doesn't I'd love to look into this deeper with you, as I've had similar issues and know how much of a pain it is to configure everything correctly.
  6. I never knew I'd miss your cow truck pictures, but now...

    An autism outreach discussion topic

There is too much discourse towards the discussion of mental health issues and disabilities. It doesn't help that, for years now, Autism, ADHD, dyslexia and so much more has been classified as disabilities. Although it's very true that people with disabilities can struggle to get a proper foothold in their lives, stating them as nothing more than "issues" or "disabilities" has also allowed for an overal negative sentiment to thrive within communities - both online and in the real world. Especially something like Autism is way more complicated than just a social disorder. In fact the Autism spectrum is actually quite extensive and covers many aspects of the human brain. It isn't so much that there's something "wrong" with Autistic people, but they just think and process information differently from the "regular" person. Threads like these are incredibly important. Not only can they be a hopeful message to those that suffer from any mental disability, they also allow for an open and honest discussion of what a lot of individuals suffer from - myself included. It is the perfect opportunity to show to other people that, hey, we're more than just a pain in the neck, which is often what it can feel like for us in schools and work. Thank you for taking the time to tell us your story. It really resonates with me. In fact, I'd actually like to talk about the final statement you've made in that document: You will. That's the beauty of life; we all learn. Everyone can and will become a stronger individual over time, especially when they really try. In fact I'd almost say people with disabilities have the advantage there. We struggle through our daily lives and continuously run into unclimbable walls. And the only thing we can do is push through that and learn from it.

Picture of the Month: May (Winners)

Huge congratulations @TheWilliamTW. Your picture's awesome - keep doing us proud Also congrats @BL4CK$K1LL and @[VIVA] Jxkke! Your pictures are really awesome, keep up the great work!
  9. So I'm curious about this and would like a staff member to clarify this matter, but couldn't you just report any user that tries to follow you around all the time? Specifically the ones that are indeed like "Haha I found you on the map LOL ROFL". I'd personally count this as targeted harassment. Anyways this would obviously be a very contrived solution to an issue that seems to plague more users than I initially expected. If a privacy feature like the one you suggest can be added there'd be no need to report the users in the first place. +1 from me.
  10. AHL hosts weekly convoys every Wednesday at 7PM BST. This week we'll be driving through Scandinavia and explore the beautiful landscape. See you then!

  13. Having worked as a high ranking staff member in another gaming community I can tell you that these things are not as easy as they might seem. Every organisation has its own vision and ideas on how it should be run and what it is they stand for. TruckersMP is no different. Even if you do make it to one of the higher positions in the community where you'd be able to have some influence, making actual concrete change can be rather challenging. If you do want to change something as important as, say, the way the community deals with reports, it's important that you're able to appropriately explain where exactly the community is failing right now, and provide an alternative method that can improve on this. I'd also recommend that you have experience in being part of and - preferably - managing teams and staff members. It can be incredibly easy to say "X should be different" but if you have no knowledge of how these things work your words become meaningless. TL;DR: If you want to change something, you have to work for it. And once you do get to that manager position you speak so highly of, there's a high propability that the changes you had in mind turn out to not be such good ideas after all.

    TruckersMP merchandise

I'll be real with you. I personally don't care about merchandise. At all. I don't like having mugs and t-shirts with my favourite youtuber's face on them, and TruckersMP isn't any different. I won't buy any of their merch, almost definitely never. But I know one thing: just because I personally don't care, others do. Some people out there love having shirts and mugs and stickers and who-knows-what-else with their favourite brand on them. And that's fine. If those people want this merchandise then I think it's only good that this community gives them that opportunity. To the community as a whole, there's nothing but positives to gain from this. For the people like you and me out there that don't actually care about this merchandise, there's nothing to lose. We don't have to pay for something we don't even want. The group that does like having their fancy truckersmp stickers to stick to their friends' faces they now can. Which, y'know, is pretty awesome for them. Just because you don't care about something, it's only better to look at it positively. I think it's great that other people can now have the joy they get from buying merch, and that makes me pretty happy. So, y'know, maybe next time try to think positive. You'll feel much better as a result too. Capiche?

A quick question about comparisons online.

To add onto what @Nameless Ghoul just said, there's another change in MP where you won't always have to go to services if you want to fix your truck. If you are on the road and have a trailer, you can make use of /fix to completely fix your truck, free of charge. The cooldown for this command is 600 seconds and I have to say it's incredibly useful.
