  1. 1. Do you like the new server system applied by TruckersMP?

    • YES
    • NO
    • On 2 Arcade servers, we need 1 with a collision and 1 without (with arcade mode rules : https://truckersmp.com/blog/167)
    • I have a suggestion to make as a comment
    • No opinion
  2. 2. In the simulation mode, do you agree to reduce the speed 110km/h ?

    • YES
    • NO (keep the 150km/h)
    • This limitation should be applied only on C.D road
    • No, because now it’s going to take longer to travel through Europe
    • Maximum 150km/h on highway and maximum 110km/h on country roads
    • Maximum 200km/h on highway and maximum 110km/h on country roads
    • I have a suggestion to make as a comment
    • No opinion
  3. 3. Should Scout cars be out of the multiplayer (only simulation mode)?

    • YES
    • NO
    • No, a tougher ban if dangerous driving.
    • Not allowed on road C.D
    • No, and for truck convoys with friends how will we do without safety car?
    • Scout cars should be attributed only to moderators and people you trust to reduce accidents.
    • I have a suggestion to make as a comment
    • No opinion
    • Only people with a real car license can drive them x)

Just started playing ETS and I was having a lot of fun so a friend said I should jump on the multiplayer. I jump on and the only populated servers have a speed limit, check the forum to see how to turn it off and it turns out it's mandatory. So I guess I just missed the boat because this seems to have just been implemented but this totally sucks out any fun I could have had. I mostly enjoy doing urgent deliveries while speeding where I can while still avoiding the intrinsic penalty of losing control of the truck and damaging it or other vehicles or getting speeding fines, this is a fun challenge for me and is the main reason I am enjoying the game right now. That's not to say that I don't also see the appeal of a more relaxing 'by the books' approach but doesn't this speed limit also spoil the fun of being a law abiding driver? I mean what's the point in trying to follow the rules of the road if you literally can't break them? Maybe we should also have the trucks steer themselves too to avoid collisions, just turn the whole thing into a Tesla simulator.

Anyway guess it's back to single player with me, I hope this decision will be reversed or at least have one server with and one without since it since looking at the poll 70% of the community disagrees with it in one way or another but at the same time I'm not that invested in this at this point so even if it is I may never know, but hey I created this account so I may as well post with it since I'm not using it to play.

Sorry if I come off as overly salty but it's only because I was excited to play in the first place so this really sucks to see.

You are correct, but only to a certain point. There were trolls before (mostly in EU#2) and there are now (mostly in Simulation 1). Because of collisions, of course, and because of the 4200 slots capacity. "New wave of trolls", I'm not sure about this. IMO, it's the same people as before and they usually "move" in the same areas as before.

When I say new wave of trolls I'm referring to the numbers statistically as seen on the servers this very second. As of this writing Friday the 12th, 6:33pm GMT time there are 4,011/4200 on Simulation 1, and 1,561/2,300 on Simulation 2. Both of TMP's new simulator servers are currently operating at 96% and 68% capacity respectively whereas before with the old servers on EU1 on average I remember seeing no more than 500 players at a time on a server that could house 2,300 players. For posterity there are 509/2300 on Arcade 1 and 105/2300 on Arcade 2 as of this moment. It can be well seen where the mass of of EU2 have had to migrate too and that once again Arcade (formally known as EU4) is being under-utilized. All TMP has done is helped funnel all of EU2 (both the good and the bad) into their simulator server making a mess of it all.

This being said, the only solution to get rid of trolls... It's (IMO) the one mentioned by @Hecki_Stafman. Make the Simulation servers no-collisions. Trolls would have nothing to do and they'd eventually leave and go to other games where they can actually do their sick stuff. Still waiting for someone to suggest something like this. I won't, because I'm glad with the current situation. From my POV (simulation style, WoT jobs with 90 Km/h speed limit), things have improved and Simulation 1 is better than what EU#2 used to be.

I would fully back this except the traditionalist in me feels that a simulation server with no damage kind of defeats the whole purpose of the word 'Simulator'. I understand that the game needs to adapt to the user base and that this may be a possible solution. I for one would never play it. I think that nullifies the authenticity of the game, in fact I feel trolls themselves bring more authenticity to a game than 'no-damage' would. When I drive to work I don't have the luxury of being able to ghost though other vehicles but I do have the luxury of trying to avoid accidents from irate/inattentive/incompetent drivers. I'd take trolls over no damage any day.

the best solution would be to set up

server Hard Simulation where Scout cars would be banned,

limit would be 50 / 100km / h

long-term ping (eg 10s) would not exceed 150ms.

The reason for the ban (after the report) would be a gross violation of traffic regulations such as driving on red, not giving priority to driving, deliberate driving in the opposite direction, etc. In case of repeated offenses, grant a lifetime ban on entering this server.

Of course, this does not solve individual incidents that some individuals deliberately evoke, but it would bring the game closer to the simulation - when the game is called.

Btw, I wonder how much would a monthly rental of such a server cost 500-1000 people? Including admin supervision from 07.00 to 01.00 CET

Sorry, Google translator

As long as the perimeters of this server remain a side-option (say exclusively 'Simulation 2 server') and not the only simulation server, or a paid-option, or something available on Discord for example. I would hate to see this dictated on the main simulation server... I spend $450 a month on business speed internet but being on the west coast of USA my ping still has never dropped below 160ms, and thats on a good day. For players on Australia and NZ their ping is even worse, collectively we are about as far away from the servers as you can get.

Gross violation bans I can get on board with, 100%. There is no reason for being that negligent. I do however once again question the validity of some of the in-game moderators as I've seen players banned (not kicked) for spotty internet connections. Yes being stuck behind or around a lagger sucks, but it's hardly worth penalizing someone that can't afford a better computer or internet. Someone that deliberately drives the wrong way or blocks for laughs? Ban stick, hard and swift.

My interest in multiplayer has been shredded by this update. One reason is the speed limiter. I don't have a lot of time to play the game, I generally live a busy life, and because of that I try and go as fast as possible without being reckless. That means upwards of 80mph (128kmh). The new speed limit cuts me off of this. I can just disable the speed limiter in single player, so why not play that when I'm short on time? When I need to get somewhere fast, and I don't want to use my truck or fast travel, I use the scout car. The fact that something as simple as a car might be banned for the name of simulation mildly outrages me. Cars exist in the real world and are the majority of traffic on nearly every highway no matter where you go in Europe. If you want to simulate the real world, cars should be a no-brainer. I understand why cars might be taken away, due to some dumb***es that drive them, but that's just a matter of better regulation and more moderators and admins, which would make the game more realistic. In my time of driving, (hundreds of hours), I have never come in contact with a moderator or admin. More mods and admins would reduce corruption between them, and improve the overall simulation and confidence of players.

Needless to say, I'm not playing multiplayer until something changes. I want collisions, no speed limiter, and cars on one server because that's how I play.

A few people saw the forum vote. You can do a test. You can set up a server with the same number of people as Sim1, but there is no speed limit(have collision). We can know what people prefer by using the number of servers.

I always follow the rules on the old EU server, but liked to go faster than what we are restricted to now. It makes driving on any road that isn't from C to D very boring.

1. Do you like the new server system applied by TruckersMP?

As a reckless driving prevention change, I do, but still, it's not close enough. From my perspective, I think the truck should have a speed limit of less than 90-100km/h due to heavily speeding trucks. The car is a car, so it should go faster than the truck.

2. In the simulation mode, do you agree to reduce the speed 110km/h ?

Like I said above, I think the truck should have a limit of 90km/h. The cars can have the speed limit they desire and should have.

3. Should Scout cars be out of the multiplayer (only simulation mode)?

I would say yes, but only on Calais-Duisburg, as the majority of the players using Scout cars are reckless drivers and basically ruin the whole image.

I don't like the new speed limit change, its a simulation you should be able to take risks and do things which you wouldn't try in real life. That's what makes the game fun for me. Speed limits should be advisory rather than being forced. If the number of accidents is an issue then a better resolution would be to speed limit only the players who keep causing these accidents for example if you have been banned recently then you get speed limited for a week or something. Much better than forcing experienced players to travel at slow speeds.

How severs should be in my opinon.

Arcade, 4200slots: NO Speed limit, WITH Colision, “No rules” or as FREEROM Server, such as previus eu4, but with colision. Skoda alowed, of course.

GM (admins) should Never moderate this server, only look at website reports, with low priority, for hacking, insulting or other rules applied on Freeroam servers (eu4), before the changes. Any other kind of reports on this server will get rejected “automatically”.

Simulation “Harcore”. 2200 slots, Real Speed limits (50 or 60 km/h on cities, 90 outside of it) Skoda ALLOWED (at this low speed, should be only used as Escort Convoy... or “caravan travels”) and High priority of GM in-game Moderation, hopefully 2 or 3 at Peak time, if possible.

Also, the bans lengh for the first 3 bans, which admins decides the duration, on this server Must NEVER be LOWER THAN 1 WEEK. ( Overal Increase of Punishment ONLY on this server).

And a 3rd server Arcade-Simulator, just like the “old” EU3: 2000 slots, Skoda NOT Allowed, Arcade Speed Limit: 80km/h cities, 150km/h outside. And “usuall” ban lengh/duration of the first 3 bans. Here GM could do some In-game Moderation

So everyone will get the server it wants, but if you want more and more speed, anarchy goes attach to it.

Also, you must show in which server you are when recording for a Website Report in orther to apply the different ban leghts.

And sorry if my writting english is too simple... react how you want.

I say the new system seems to be working just fine.
The only things I would change is make the cars limited to arcade servers only (Allowed for TMP Game Moderators or above in all servers). Also maybe make one of the arcade servers a collision zone but make people understand that it is purely at their own risk of entering the server and only the few rules such as hacking and excessive save editing are in force. This will mean most 'trollers' will move themselves to that server since it has no speed limits and it is all collision, that would make the simulation servers a much better place with 90% of people been there purely for the simulation side of things.
I personally would not use the arcade servers anyway, I much prefer simulation, but if there is a server that will attract all the trollers then it may make the simulation servers even more realistic.

I like the new rules! It's not realistic for trucks to go them kind of speeds anyways...

If you want to drive fast just join the arcade server that's what it's for...

I also agree that it reduces trolls as if your going 68MPH nobody can go faster than that to catch up to you to troll you.

It also gets away the trolls who like going 90MPH as they can't go that fast!! :)

For those of you that wish to drive unrealistically fast in a truck then go and do it on the arcade servers and please leave us more mature drivers that like to take our driving more seriously to the other.

Because of the trolling in the past from the immature people that like to cause utter mayhem to decent drivers it made me stop using TruckersMP. I never came back for many many months, just playing ETS/ATS in Single player. Now I'm going to try out the new updated system with it's new rules and unless it's been significantly improved for mature drivers then I'll be off it again. There are hundreds like me that are scared to come on these servers!!

^Couldn't agree more.  These trolls and speeding kids are flooding to the simulation servers and whining about the speed limits when they're more than capable of going to the arcade server and playing there.

Any care I had for them went right out the window when they came to the sim servers and started bitching about the rules.

@Runnerbean, @TheCreepyTruckr, They don't care that much about speed, but seem to care a lot about collisions. Trolls, it's logical, without collisions they have nothing to do. Speeding kids and alike... They claim that "It's not realistic, driving without collisions". They don't realize how stupid that is, realistic? when they want to drive trucks at 150+ Km/h? I think that in the end, it's all about 4200 slots. Before, it was EU#2, now, it's Simulation 1. Many people seem to think that Simulation 1 is just EU#2 with lower speed limits. They drove in EU#2, now they drive in Simulation 1. And same as before, full speed anywhere they can. But since they can't go at 150 Km/h, all they see is that "They forced us to drive slower". Many of those people have probably never tried out the arcade servers. Many probably haven't even noticed that there are 2 servers without speed limits.

What I really like about TMP is that they stick to their decision.
I am convinced that the Simulation Servers will become even more suitable for realistic drivers if the maximum speed were to be lowered even more.

Max 90 km on the highways in ETS2, possibly slightly more (but not much) in the USA.
Speed is the biggest trigger for the trolls and kids ....

Yes let's see the player amount dwindle even lower.

@PrinceOfJerusalemIf it gets rid of the speeders and the trolls, I don't see anyone complaining.  So far the only people I've seen upset about this change are the ones that already have multiple bans against their accounts, it's only a matter of time before they're banned anyways.  Might as well just hurry it up and make them quit on their own.

Provided that I wish the children and drivers an Arcade Server with collisions,

I think that what you say is good.
Let these "Drivers" rather leave TMP.
If  TMP (fortunately) choose Simulation, then you have to go as Speedy and Bumping type....

Zero bans and I dislike the speed restriction ( are you able to provide evidence regarding the ban quote as I'm sure there are multiple people who have not had multiple bans but have voice their displeasure regarding the change ). I've attempted to find but been unable to; Why make a speed restriction on the main server but have arcade servers with no restriction in place? Wasn't this the case that it was the other way round? ( could be wrong but like I say, I've looked around for an answer to my question and thought this might be the better place to be pointed where the answer lies )

Started out in Duisberg, went along the main road just passed the rail road tracks on my way to Calais, parked up and came off. Very boring to play along with nothing actually happening.

The game for me was fun before the speed change, it's what's been the allure to make me play and enjoy watching the mad moments from comp videos on youtube. It's funny regardless of if it happens to me or other people. Flying trucks, cars being flipped upside down. Now it's literally single player with more traffic that isn't quite as bad in some parts as the AI but just as boring.

It's nice to have options: Simulation or Arcade, but I as well as many other players like going fast and crashing into things. I think there should be a server with Cars enabled, Collisions enabled, but the Speed limiter to be switched off.

And as someone else has said, when we did have that option, the Simulation server with the speed limiter was the empty one.

ETS2 is a Simulation game (it's in the title) but it is also a game, and that is why we need more options.

Yes, there are 2 servers without speed limits, but they do not have collisions enabled. This makes the game boring. And yes, it is a simulator, but for all of the players who like driving fast and crashing into things, we'd like to have the option.

And when we did have that option, it was packed out and the simulation server was nearly empty. 2 of the old EU#2 servers would be a good addition.

Those are the ones who made the changes happen. TMP is not GTA with trucks, the game and the mod are not meant to drive fast and crash into things. Understand that, search for other games (Wreckfest, maybe?) and be happy.
