Personally, I think this rule change has made all the countless hours of work that every Game Moderator/Admin or any Moderation staff in general past and present completely worthless and gone to waste - including myself. You have single handily made the community have to endure all those people AGAIN that were banned deservingly to begin with! And now they are allowed to come back and cause havoc to all the genuine rule biding players to have to go through the painstaking process of reporting these players AGAIN that was obviously banned for good reason in the first place - just for the sake of getting numbers back and put more pressure on the staff involved. If these players were banned 5 times in a row, they obviously didn't understand the rules and clearly had no care about actions. Yes, some may come back and will think again about what they have done, but that will be a very small percentage. These decisions are easily made by higher staff because they are the ones who make the decisions but don't have necessarily have to go through the heartache and countless hours that the Moderation staff has to go through - yes I understand they signed themselves up to do this voluntarily - but don't you think you've made all their work a laughing matter for all those who got banned permanently for a good reason to now go to waste? I don't think a lot of thought has been considered in this for the people involved in the Moderation team, especially now for the GMM's because they are probably now the ones that are going to be involved quite highly (for those repeat offenders) in this to make sure if there are players out there that are just coming back to blatantly not abide by the rules, to have to re-do what's already been undone! Why would do this to all these members of staff past and present? I know you may need numbers and you want to expand your player base - but surely there are other ways to entice more genuine players/new comers by other means. I really do feel sorry for the Moderation staff at this time. I feel in some ways this has been a reckless decision for the majority, but I suppose it will be nice to have some old faces back and maybe they will think twice - I don’t know… only time will tell, I guess. I have been here since May 2014 and have seen good and bad changes in my time - but overall this has to be a bad one, unfortunately, and hopefully, this be clear very soon and this rule will be amended again in the near future to compensate this. Perhaps, with an increased punishment like six months and then a year or just simply revert it back to how it once was? But hey, now all those rule-breakers will now be rubbing their hands with glee, ready to once again ruin it for others for the sake of numbers. However, this won’t stop me (and many others) from playing Euro Truck Simulator 2 with TruckersMP because I do love the community and always have and that's why I have been here as long as I have, despite the people you encounter that ruin gameplay, that's normal for most online communities, but I don’t know how I feel knowing that I will have to encounter all these rule-breakers, wind up merchants and deceitful players that I once banned myself or have reported in the past. Because I can tell you one thing, the things that have been said over the CB and in the chat over the years have been absolutely disgraceful to witness and before this rule change, a lot of those people were banned permanently and forgotten about, but they are once again allowed to come back… I won’t name any names, but if you have been here around here as long as I have, you’ll probably know who these people are! But if you're a newcomer or someone who hasn’t been here for a very long time you probably won’t understand, but watch this space, you will now encounter probably the worst in a long time! These are my thoughts and opinions - make of that what you will - but everyone's views have to be heard, whether you agree with them or not. But it has been great to see people here who honestly care about this community as much as I do and don't want to see it fall because of these rule-breakers return. Thank you for reading and have a lovely day ahead! P.s: if you have been here for more than three years, leave a awesome reaction ?7 points

Hello truckers! We come to you with big news regarding the way we issue bans. Following a long internal discussion and having taken into consideration a number of factors, some rather large changes will be made to rule §2.8 - How bans are issued. As of 4th May 2022, permanent bans due to history will no longer be issued. This means that rule §2.8 - How bans are issued has been updated, and is now written as follows: §2.8 - How bans are issued The first 3 bans are issued at the staff member’s discretion. The 4th ban is thirty days. The 5th ban and consecutive bans are ninety days. Any bans older than 12 months at the time of the new ban being issued are ignored, this 12 month period is the ban cooling-off period. Ban extensions are based on the active (less than 12 months old) bans at the time of expiration and will not be altered if a ban goes over the 12 month period while the ban is active. If you have at least two active history bans in your ban history, staff will extend your next ban to ninety days, regardless of how many bans you have had in the last year. Bans that are extended due to history cannot be reduced, they are strictly thirty days and ninety days. To clarify; if you accumulate 5 or more bans in a 12-month period, all bans starting at your fifth ban will be set to ninety days automatically. This means that your sixth, seventh, etc. ban in a 12-month period will also be set to ninety days. However, this change only applies to bans that are permanent due to history, not due to hacking, ban evading, or other rule violations that can result in a permanent ban. We understand that this rule change could leave you with certain doubts or seeking clarification. Therefore, below you can find some common questions and answers regarding these changes: Will bans previously issued due to history be disabled? Yes. Through an automated process, we will be disabling previously issued permanent bans extended due to history. My permanent ban was not disabled, why? As we are working with a large number of bans, there is always a chance that certain bans could be missed during the mass removal process. In case that applies to you, we invite you to contact us via the appeal system. Will other types of permanent bans also be disabled? No. At this time we are only modifying rule §2.8, meaning that only permanent bans due to history are affected by this rule change. All other permanent bans will remain in place (hacking, ban evading, etc). What will happen if I was recently permanently banned? If you were permanently banned within the last 90 days, your ban will be modified to expire 90 days from the day it was issued. Please note that these bans will not be disabled immediately, like older permanent bans. Will other types of permanent bans continue to be issued? Yes. As this change only affects rule §2.8, there will be no change to the way other types of permanent bans are issued. We understand that people's behaviour and attitudes towards rules can change over time, so we want to give those who have made mistakes in the past another chance to drive on TruckersMP. With these changes, we look forward to welcoming back some former players to our servers. Game Moderation Management --> View post on homepage2 points

This is utterly disgusting. Allowing those who are repeat offenders to now come back into the community, A community that abides by rules, rules that they have clearly given no to attention to in the past is ridiculous. This is utterly deplorable and I sincerely hope the TMP team rethinks the move to let those who have been Perma Banned back into the community. If they have been banned for history then it is clear they cannot follow the community rules, which the vast majority of us have managed to do, for years in some of our cases. Genuinely utterly disgusted and in disbelief that anyone in the staff team thinks this is a good idea. #inb4thiscommentgetsdeleted2 points

Hey truckers! We hope you have been enjoying celebrating #TMP8 with us, and had fun at the various events on offer over the weekend! A while ago, you may have seen that we mentioned something about buses in TruckersMP in our launcher or on one of our social media channels. The addition of buses has been a much-requested feature in our community for the past few years. Since last year, we have been exploring a partnership with the folks at DBus World to make that a possibility and bring a new way of playing on our servers. As you may already know from the Alternating Vehicles of the past months, our team can bring a bus model themselves, but we want to offer the community more than just a model to drive. Therefore, we are excited to announce that we will be supporting the DBus World client for use on the TruckersMP servers! So… bus when? Well, we want to provide the bus as soon as possible and we are working hard with DBus World to make it happen. At the moment the final touches are being made and we expect to be able to welcome buses to TruckersMP shortly; from now on, we will provide regular updates on our social media channels. Initially, we will only offer one bus, as we want to offer the best performance possible without issues caused by file size and animations. We need to evaluate these aspects thoroughly before we can confidently offer more buses, as we only want to provide a polished end product for you to enjoy. Hopefully, we can count on your support for that! Patreon We also want to offer an insight into our Patreon campaign. Most of you have probably noticed that activity on our servers had decreased in the second half of 2021 and this was also visible in the revenue that we gathered through Patreon. In the image below, you can see that the monthly income through Patreon has been consistently decreasing since May 2021. This income is important for us to ensure that our Game Developers can devote their precious time to TruckersMP, to ensure that regular updates take place and that new features are developed for the community. Later this year, we plan to introduce additional and new benefits for Patrons as we develop them. Are you currently a Patron or have you been a Patron before? We would love to hear your views and opinions on our current campaign so we can make it even better! It would be great if you could help us by participating in this short survey: https://truckersmp.com/survey/15 Other Plans Our lead Developer, mwl4, is currently working to improve our current codebase. This is a crucial task in order to fulfill one of our long term ambitions: to introduce AI traffic on TruckersMP servers. We are hoping to update you on AI traffic in TruckersMP later this year but we will have to see what the coming months will bring. You can learn more in this blog post. You can also expect to see more features added to the Job Tracker and Job Dispatcher, as well as further improvements to the in-game user interface and the achievement system. We will also be looking into bringing in-game profiles, which you can fully customize to represent who you are, what you prefer doing on our servers, and show off things you unlocked. But that's all for now! We are looking forward to the future and to see what it brings. As always, thank you to everybody who continues to support TruckersMP, and allows us to continue creating this one of a kind modification! We are looking forward to another year full of new content! I just looked up accounts on the public end, and even without the TMP backend stuff. I can tell you evaded permanent bans on previous accounts..... Stop trying to play the victim. You evaded bans, you receive the consequence for doing so.1 point

That's a perfectly reasonable evaluation. I should find role models to follow. That's indeed true. However, without access to the means, it's impossible to achieve. Correct. However, should someone commit a crime, you're not to blame and will not profit nor benefit from their punishment. The same person may also walk free in a matter of weeks. Some will re-offend, and others will have learnt. The number of times you do something shouldn't rule out the ability for you to change. If someone stole a loaf of bread five times, should they be locked away forever? You've got to remember that while you wish for a realistic experience, not all will want the same. You've also got to keep in mind that this is a game.1 point

Hello there, You must be registered on the forum for at least 3 months for all the teams including Game Moderation. Every team has team specific requirements, you can read all of them here: You can also view the latest Game Moderator recruitment and its requirements here: This rule is important because a staff member must interact with people. And I don't think its better to remove this rule.1 point

I'm not seeing what's the real issue here? I do believe that some of you believe that this rule change might invite more trollers or trolls might just find a way to pass and keep on trolling but you're all missing one thing, which is, if they're breaching rules, they will anyway be banned due to history. The only major change here is that, instead of being banned permanent due to history, each and every banned after the first 4 bans will now be 90 days banned, and If someone really wishes to change, they will definitely behave after their first 90 days ban, however, If that someone is still repeating the rule violations, there are ways where such players' can be punished however, I doubt people have soo much patience or time in first place to get unbanned just so that they can breach the rules again and get themselves banned. I used to be GM long back and trust me, I have seen players' who always used to request for the last chance and asked If there's a way where they can be forgiven and such permanent banned can be lifted up so that they can get chance to show they have improved and are now more civil and now seeing that such players' can now be given chance to show how well they've got themselves improved, I see no harm in this change and moreover, If management feels that in future that this change wasn't appropriate, they will definitely tweak it again. If you ask me, I believe we all should appreciate the changes the GMM team is bringing to the mode and anyways, violations such as hacking or ban evading or something which are more severe are and will always result in Permanent banned, so yes, shouldn't really matter much but rather, we all should be happy that TMP is now giving more chances to the players' even after they've been banned permanent due to history of repeat violations ?1 point

Keep in mind that 3 months is a considerable amount of time to deny access to a game server. It is a heavy punishment that discourages repeat offenders while allowing them to improve their behaviour in the long term. Thanks to the efficiency of our report system, repeat offenders are often quickly caught before they can cause further harm to others. Additionally, if a user is truly unfit to play the game on our servers, durations may be overruled through the enforcement of rule §2.9 or §5.2. Moreover, our experience in player management has taught us that some players do indeed change their behaviour over time.1 point
