  2. The Game Moderation Team is responsible for moderating the servers to ensure that everyone plays by the rules and can enjoy their time. We have not shared what goes on behind the scenes in this team often, which may have been a breeding ground for common misconceptions such as that we do not do enough work or that we are barely present on the servers. This blog provides an insight into the core activities of the Game Moderation Team in 2021. Report systems In TruckersMP, we have two separate report systems: the web report system and the game report system. The game report system is used to report users directly in the game but does not guarantee a review. As such, game reports can time out after a while. In order to accommodate users to push particular situations for a guaranteed review by one of our staff members, they can utilise the web report system; however, they must record and provide their own evidence. We regularly receive comments from users that they are unhappy about their game reports being timed out. We understand that this is not an ideal situation, but it is a necessary means to keep things manageable around here. In 2021, our team received 287K web and 1.1 million (!) game reports. We are talking about 1.4 million reports in total, in just one year. It is practically impossible to review all those reports with a relatively small team consisting of volunteers, which is why we base our decisions on where our focus is needed the most. In the first half of 2021, our focus was mainly on the web report system as we experienced extremely high pressure on that system. This pressure eased during the summer; during the rest of the year, we were therefore able to shift our focus towards game reports and an increased in-game presence. In total, we reviewed all 287K web reports and 195K game reports last year. Bans and appeals The total of 482K reviewed reports, in addition to live moderation on the servers, resulted in a total of 307K bans. Of those, 169K bans were issued through the website and 138K in-game. Our staff members received 107K ban appeals, of which 5% were accepted. This figure is shockingly low and we regularly receive signals from our staff members that appeals are based on improper grounds. A large number of appeals are solely based on pointing fingers to brothers, sisters or even pets; or are used to say sorry or to ask for another chance. Please keep in mind that when submitting an appeal, your appeal has to be informative, detailed, and contain sufficient grounds and possibly counter-evidence to explain why your ban is not correct. If you submit an appeal that does not meet our conditions or is very bland and lacks solid reasoning, it is unlikely that your appeal will be accepted. Earlier this year, we reduced the total number of appeals per ban from 3 to 2, since third appeals barely ever made any practical difference apart from causing extra work. We ask players to make careful use of the rights that we offer, as abuse of those rights may result in systems becoming stricter in the long term. It would greatly benefit our staff members and the community if we could spend our time on more reports or employ more in-game presence instead of having to spend time on reading and replying to appeals that are based on improper grounds. Server activity and the impact of Covid-19 The most activity on the servers, and thus also the busiest days of the week for the Game Moderation Team, are on the weekends. In 2021, we recorded a total playtime on our servers of 31.2 million hours (compared to 37.8 and 30.5 million hours in 2020 and 2019, respectively). The server activities in 2020 and the first half of 2021 were elevated due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Many countries around the world took measures to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus, such as working from home and total lockdowns. As a result of that, our team had to step up their game to address the extremely high pressure on the web report system. The most intense period of increased activity during the pandemic was between March 2020, when many countries around the world initiated a lockdown for the first time, and May 2021. May 2021 was a record-breaking month for our team with an all-time high of 40K web reports in one month and an all-time high daily record of 1,890 web reports on May 16th. In the image below, you can see an overview of the server activity and the pressure on the web report system during that period. The peaks in April 2020, July 2020, November 2020 through January 2021, and May 2021 correlate with the peaks in the globally reported confirmed Covid-19 cases (confirmed by data from the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at the John Hopkins University). This may be explained by social distancing as many countries initiate lockdowns as a response to those peaks, and lockdowns cause an increase in stay-inside activities such as gaming. Besides peaks, there are also some drops in activity visible, primarily during the highlighted downgrade periods. When SCS Software releases a new version of the games, our developers have to reverse engineer the updates to make them compatible for use on our servers, and during that time players are forced to downgrade their game version. Activity on the servers, and therefore the pressure on our team, quickly restores once the newest game version is supported. Demographics and recruitment The TruckersMP community is very diverse with players coming from countries all over the world. Although our team primarily operates in English, we offer support for a large variety of languages by hiring users from all parts of the world. In addition to that, we receive great support from other staff members who help us with translations. This ensures that we can deal with reports that contain foreign languages and it helps us communicate with players when they are not proficient in English. Our Game Moderation Team (as of the 1st of January) is globally represented by 105 team members from 33 different countries across all continents (with the exception of Antarctica, as we have not hired any penguins yet). Game Moderation Team members are aged 24 years old on average, ranging from 17 to 50 years old. Moreover, they average 1.5 years of experience as a moderator. Team members come and go on a frequent basis and as such, recruitment campaigns are frequently held. In 2021, there were three recruitment campaigns for the Game Moderation Team: February, May, and December. We unfortunately often have to disappoint many applicants given the large interest in our team and the strict requirements and expectations. In 2021, we received 1,556 applications (data from the ongoing December campaign is not included). Of those, 114 (7.3%) candidates were invited to an interview and 57 (3.7%) were eventually accepted and onboarded to our team. This gives you an impression of how many applicants do not make it through the selection process. If you are interested in joining the Game Moderation Team, please keep an eye on the recruitment page. Concluding remarks As you can see, the Game Moderation Team has not been sitting still in 2021. With our team of dedicated volunteers, we are working hard to review as many reports as we can. Unfortunately, we cannot deal with all game reports simply because the influx of new reports is extremely high on that system. As a community member, you can do your part and help us reduce the workload for our team by not reporting every minor incident to us. Not every incident has to be punished and can also be resolved by yourself by recognising that players sometimes make mistakes. Our goal is to let players enjoy their time on the servers whilst ensuring that they play by the rules. Let us cherish that goal as a community. Looking forward, in the future we will have one integrated report system that will make it easier for us to moderate the servers and review reports more efficiently. Our lead Game Developer briefly talked about that system in an earlier blog a few months ago. Moreover, we are also studying a new ban system which is intended to standardise bans; this will increase consistency, fairness, and transparency among the bans that we issue. More information about that will follow once we have designed, developed, and implemented the necessary changes. We hope this blog has provided a meaningful perspective of what the year 2021 meant to the Game Moderation Team and that it has resulted in a broader understanding of what the team is capable of doing in a year. 2022 will be a year with new challenges and opportunities and our team will continue working on keeping the servers safe to the best of our ability.   8. The comment you quoted was in relation the magnitude of reports, not about bans. A proportion of the reports that we receive is not really necessary. As you have now seen, we receive a very large number of reports in a year and it would thus help us if we could prevent people from reporting stuff to us that is not really worth it. We can then focus on activities where our focus is needed more. In regard to ban appeals, we friendly request users to create an appeal only if they have a solid reason to question the validity of the ban. Apologising is of course not forbidden and we respect it when people learn from their mistakes, but it also implies your guilt. As we do not remove bans that were issued correctly, apologising and thus confirming your guilt will therefore not result in an accepted appeal. If we would remove bans after people would simply apologise, it would be rather pointless to issue bans in the first place. I don't think sharing this sort of information every month would be beneficial as it will get old rather quickly. Rather, I personally think it would be cool to share an annual overview that involves the entire TruckersMP team. The ideas are out there, what remains is a proper implementation. I will do my best to set something like that up for next year.

  15. Hello, Please check out this question as well for some more insight. NCZ cities are not a permanent thing. Duisburg being made into a NCZ was just a trial and a coping method while we were working on new modifications to the city, because the previous ones broke with a game update. As Luna explained above, other projects have meant that progress on the Duisburg rework is slower than we had hoped, however it is still an ongoing thing and will happen eventually. Our Add-On Management and Game Moderation Management are actively looking at Calais to see what we can do to improve the traffic flow, in the form of map edits such as traffic lights or different prefabs for the F7, etc. Making it a NCZ is not something we plan to do, as we feel that the traffic flow in Calais is already far better than in Duisburg so there is no need to make the city a NCZ. The above records tells us the true hard work of TruckersMP dealing with the game and also the work of every individual staff member working behind the screen and resulting truckers MP as a best for ever multiplayer for all fans of Euro Truck Simulator 2 And American Truck Simulator. I wish congratulations for Truckers MP community members and hope the community grow much bigger in no time and gain lot of fan base with more content for all.

Pe lângă asta, primim ajutor și de la alți membri din staff care ne pot ajuta cu traducerile. Astfel ne putem asigura că putem prelua și rezolva rapoarte care sunt făcute în alte limbi și ne ajută să comunicăm mai ușor cu jucătorii care nu se descurcă în limba engleză. Echipa noastră de Game Moderation (astfel numită din 1 ianuarie) este reprezentată la nivel global de 105 de membri din 33 de țări diferite de pe toate continentele lumii (cu excepția continentului Antarctica, căci nu am angajat nici un pinguin, încă). Membrii din echipa de Game Moderation au în medie 24 de ani, cu vârste de la 17 până la 50 de ani. În plus, aceștia au în medie 1,5 ani de experiență ca moderatori. Membrii din echipă pleacă și vin în mod constant, astfel că sunt susținute frecvent campanii de recrutare. În 2021 au fost trei campanii de recrutare pentru Echipa de Game Moderation: în februarie, mai și decembrie. Din păcate, trebuie să dezamăgim mulți candidați, având în vedere numărul mare de oameni interesați în echipa noastră cât și așteptările și condițiile stricte. În 2021, am primit 1,556 de aplicații (datele din campania din Decembrie nu sunt incluse). Dintre acestea, 114 (7.3%) candidați au fost invitați la un interviu iar 57 (3.7%) au fost eventual acceptați în echipa noastră. Acest lucru vă oferă o impresie despre câți candidați nu reușesc să treacă prin acest proces. Notă finală După cum puteți observa, Echipa de Game Moderation nu a stat degeaba în 2021. Cu echipa noastră de voluntari dedicați, lucrăm din greu pentru a revizui cât mai multe rapoarte cu putință. Din păcate, nu putem să revizuim toate rapoartele din joc din simplul fapt că influxul lor este foarte mare pentru acel sistem. Ca membru al comunității, ne puteți ajuta ca să reduceți volumul de muncă dacă nu raportați fiecare incident minor. Nu trebuie fiecare incident să fie pedepsit și poate fi de asemenea rezolvat de dumneavoastră dacă recunoașteți că jucătorii mai fac greșeli uneori. Scopul nostru este să lăsăm jucătorii să se bucure de timpul lor petrecut pe servere, în același timp asigurându-ne că aceștia urmează regulile. Hai să păstrăm acesta ca scopul comunității. Privind în viitor, vom avea un sistem de report integrat care va face mai ușor procesul de revizuire a rapoartelor pentru noi și care va fi mult mai eficient. Principalul Game Developer a vorbit despre asta într-un blog anterior, acum câteva luni.   29. Wow... I am speechless.... I cannot imagine how far the game development has come and how in 2021 a total of 1.4 million reports we're made. Many people as it has been stated in the kb and here on the forums think that the GM Team is doing nothing. This proves that the GM Team is dealing with a lot of reports which come into the system and with 105+ Team members was able to deal with 1.4 million reports from minor to major ones. In my opinion you guys make this game run, without you the game would be a total chaos... this is a huge number to even think of or more over imagine.   33. A Game Moderation csapat felelős a szerverek moderálásáért, hogy mindenki a szabályok szerinte játsszon és jól érezze magát. Ritkán osztunk meg információkat arról, hogy mi történik a csapatban, ami sok tévhitet generált, mint például, hogy nem dolgozunk eleget vagy ritkán vagyunk jelen a szervereken. Ebben a cikkben betekinthettek a Game Moderation csapat 2021-es fő feladataiba. Jelentési rendszerek A TruckersMP-nél két különböző jelentési rendszerünk van. Az egyik a weboldali a másik pedig a játékbeli jelentési rendszer. A játékbeli jelentési rendszer közvetlenül jelenti a játékosokat a játékon belül, de átnézésüket nem garantáljuk, mivel egy idő után lejárnak. Annak érdekében, hogy bizonyos szituációkat garantáltan átnézzünk van a weboldalon lévő jelentési rendszer, viszont itt kötelező saját bizonyítékot csatolni. Sokszor kapunk megjegyzéseket, hogy a játékbeli jelentések lejárnak. Megértjük, hogy ez egy nem ideális szituáció, viszont szükséges, hogy a dolgokat rendben tartsuk magunk körül. 2021-ben csapatunk 287 ezer weboldali és 1,1 millió (!) játékbeli jelentést kapott, összesen 1,4 millió jelentést csak egy év alatt. Gyakorlatilag lehetettlen átnézni az összes jelentést egy viszonylag kicsi önkéntes csapattal, épp ezért döntéseinket arra alapozzuk, hogy hova kell a legjobban figyelnünk. 2021 első felében figyelmünket legjobban a weboldali jelentési rendszerre fordítottuk, ugyanis azt tapasztaltuk, hogy nagyon le van terhelve. Ez a terhelés a nyár folyamán enyhült, ezért az év többi részében jobban tudtunk figyelni a játékbeli jelentésekre. Összesen 287 ezer weboldali és 195 ezer játékbeli jelentést tekintettünk át ebben az évben. Kitiltások és fellebbezések Összesen 307 ezer kitiltást osztottunk ki, ami a 482 ezer átnézett jelentésből és a szervereken lévő élő moderációk alatt lettek kiosztva. Ebből 169 ezer a weboldalon és 138 ezer a játékban került kiosztásra. Csapatunk 107 ezer fellebbezést kapott, ebből 5% került elfogadásra. Ez sokkolóan kevés és rendszeresen kapunk jeleket staffok közül, hogy a fellebbezések helytelen alapokon vannak. Sok fellebbezésben kizárólag testvéreke, állatokra mutogattak, bocsánatot kérnek vagy egy újabb esélyt kérnek. Tartsátok eszetekben, hogy amikor a fellebbezéseteket írjátok, informatívnak, részletesnek és elegendő támaszpontot kell tartalmaznia és lehetőleg ellenbizonyítékot is, amiben látható, hogy a tiltás miért nem korrekt. Ha az elküldött fellebbezésed nem felel meg feltételeinknek vagy nem tartalmaz szilárd indoklást, nagyon valószínűtlen, hogy a fellebbezésed el lesz fogadva. Az év elején csökkentettük a tiltásonkénti fellebbezés lehetőségét 3-ról 2-re, ugyanis a harmadik fellebbezések ritkán hoztak bármilyen változást az extra munkát kivéve. Arra kérjük játékosainkat, hogy figyelmesen használják a jogaikat, amiket kínálunk, ugyanis, ha visszaélsz velük, visszavonhatjuk ezeket a jogokat hosszú időre. A staff tagjainak és a közösségnek nagy haszna lenne, ha időnket több jelentésre vagy több játékbeli részvételre tudnánk fordítani, ahelyett, hogy olyan fellebbezések olvasásával és válaszolásával töltenénk az időt, amik nem megfelelő alapokon állnak. Szerver aktivitás és a Covid-19 hatása A legnagyobb aktivitás szervereinken, illetve a legforgalmasabb napok a Game Moderation csapatnak a hétvégék. 2021-ben összesen 31,2 millió órát játszottak szervereinken (2020-ban 37,8 millió és 2019-ben 30,5 millió órát játszottak). A szerveraktivitás 2020-ban és 2021 elsőfelében a folyamatban lévő Covid-19 világjárvány miatt megemelkedett. Sok ország intézkedéseket tett, hogy csökkentsék a koronavírus terjedését teljes lezárásokkal vagy otthonról való dolgozással. Ennek eredményeként csapatunknak többet kellett fent lenniük, hogy csökkentsenek a weboldali jelentési rendszer terheltségén. A világjárvány alatti legnagyobb aktivitás 2020 márciusától kezdődött, amikor először teljesen lezártak mindent a világon, ez 2021 májusáig tartott. 2021 májusában 40 ezer weboldali jelentés született, ami rekordmennyiségű és nem volt ennél még több egyetlen hónapban sem. Május 16-án 1890 weboldali jelentés érkezett, ami szintén rekordmennyiségű volt napokra nézve. Az alábbi képen láthatod a szerveraktivitást és a weboldali jelentési rendszer terhelését ezidőszak alatt. A csúcsok 2020 áprilisban, júliusában, novemberében és 2021 januárjában és májusában megegyeznek a globálisan jelentett Covid-19 esetekkel (Az adatokat a John Hopkins Egyetem Rendszertudományi és Mérnöki Központja erősítette meg). Ezek az adatok annak az oka, hogy az országok lezárásokat kezdeményeztek, amikor a fertőződések magasabbak lettek és emiatt az emberek több házon belüli tevékenységekbe fogtak, mint például a játszás. A csúcsok mellett leesések is láthatóak az aktivitásban, ezek főleg a kiemelt visszafrissítéses időszakokban voltak. Amikor az SCS Software kiad egy új verziót a játékokhoz, fejlesztőinknek vissza kell fejteniük a frissítést, hogy kompatibilissé tudják tenni szervereinkkel és ez idő alatt a játékosoknak vissza kell frissíteniük a játékot. Ebből kifolyólag az aktivitás szervereinken és a csapatunkon a nyomás hamar visszajön amint a legújabb játékverzió támogatva lesz. Demográfia és toborzás A TruckersMP közössége nagyon vegyes, ugyanis a világ összes részéről jönnek játékosok. Attól, hogy csapatunk főleg angol nyelven működik, támogatunk más nyelveket is, azzal, hogy a világ minden részéről felveszünk felhasználókat. Továbbá remek támogatást kapunk más csapattagoktól, akik segítenek minket fordításokkal. Ezzel is biztosítjuk, hogy azokkal jelentésekkel tudjunk foglalkozni, amelyek más nyelvűek és ez segít kommunikálni a játékosokkal, akik nem beszélnek jól angolul. Game Moderation csapatunk (január 1-én) globális 105 csapattagból áll összesen 33 különböző országból és kontinensről (kivétel Antarktikából ugyanis pingvineket még nem vettünk fel). A Game Moderation csapat tagjai 17 és 50 év között vannak és átlagosan 24 évesek. Továbbá moderátorként átlagosan 1,5 év tapasztalattal rendelkeznek. A csapat tagjai gyakran jönnek és mennek, ezért gyakran tartunk toborzást. 2021-ben három toborzási kampányunk is volt a Game Moderation csapatba. Ezeket februárban, májusban és decemberben tartottuk. Sajnos gyakran sok jelentkezőt el kell szomorítanunk a nagy érdeklődés, csapatunk szigorú követelményei és elvárásai miatt. 2021-ben 1556 jelentkezést kaptunk (a jelenleg is folyamatban lévő decemberi kampány nincs beleszámolva). Ebből 114 (7,3%) jelölt lett meghívva interjúra és ebből 57 (3,7%) lett végül elfogadva és került be csapatunkba. Ebből láthatod, hogy mennyi jelentkező nem megy át a választási folyamaton. Ha szeretnél csatlakozni a Game Moderation csapata figyeld a toborzási oldalunkat. Záró megjegyzések Amint láthatod, a Game Moderation csapat nem ültek egyhelyben 2021-ben. Önkéntesekből álló csapatunk keményen dolgoznak, hogy átnézzenek annyi jelentést amennyit tudnak. Sajnos nem tudunk minden játékbeli jelentéssel foglalkozni, mert a beömlő jelentések száma extrém magas azon rendszeren. A közösség tagjaként annyival segítheted csökkenteni csapatunk munkáját, hogy nem jelentesz minden apró balesetet. Nem minden balesetet kell bünteti. Magadtól is megoldhatod a problémát annyival, hogy észreveszed, hogy játékosok néha hibázhatnak. Célunk, hogy a játékosok jól érezzék magukat szervereinken a szabályok betartásával. Érjük el ezt a cél egy közösségként. Előre nézve, a jövőben lesz egy integrált jelentési rendszer, ami könnyebbé teszi számunkra a szerverek moderálását és hatékonyabb átnézését a jelentéseknek. Vezető Game Developerünk röviden már beszélt erről a rendszerről egy korábbi blogbejegyzésben néhány hónappal ezelőtt. Továbbá egy új jelentési rendszert tanulmányozunk, ami szabványosítaná a jelentéseket. Ezzel a kiosztott tiltások sokkal következetesebbek, átláthatóbbak és méltányosabbak lesznek. További információt később fogunk megosztani, amikor elkészítettük és végrehajtottuk a szükséges változtatásokat. Reméljük, hogy ezzel a bejegyzéssel érthető perspektívát kaptatok a Game Moderation csapat 2021-es évéről és szélesebb rálátást kaptatok arra, hogy egy év alatt mire képes a csapat. 2022 egy kihívásokkal és lehetőségekkel teli év lesz.
