One of my top 3 games of all time... So much freedom to whatever you want and the modding scene (which has unfortunately moved more towards paid mods in the last couple years) is huge.

C-D is one of those hot topics where everyone has a slightly different opinion. Some people like it specifically because it is chaotic with tighter single carriageway roads and full of bad drivers, some people like how busy it is but wish the infrastructure was modified to cater to the traffic density, and some people prefer to have absolutely nothing to do with it and drive elsewhere. TMP themselves have always been somewhere between leaving it and making small QoL adjustments (eg clover junction at Brussels and bigger fuel station) Some of that comes down to moderation too (eg the vanilla diamond junction at Brussels has the yield signs on the wrong road - which was a source of grief for YEARS). I usually drive elsewhere because I prefer the driving part of the game and you spend most of the time not really moving on C-D, but it can be fun to do every now and then. Unfortunately it's often ruined for the masses by the select few who make it their only objective to ruin other peoples experience.
