We are excited to share some news with you all, our Development team have been working hard, and we are delighted to present the new and improved chat system - now available on TruckersMP! What's New? Though the new chat system retains the familiar TruckersMP style, it has undergone a complete overhaul, bringing numerous improvements to this popular tool. Enhancing Accessibility and Experience One of the most significant improvements is the enhanced accessibility now offered by the chat system. The text font is now easier to read, and the font size is larger right from the start. Additionally, your screen size should never limit your experience. With functional scaling, the chat system automatically resizes based on your resolution. Whether you're playing on a larger or smaller screen, everything adapts seamlessly, giving you the best possible experience. Additionally, you can manually scale the size of HUD elements through the interface settings. Mouse Input Customization You can now interact with the chat using your mouse by scrolling through the chat and clicking on player names and mentions. To provide the best possible experience, we have enabled mouse input by default. However, we are well aware that many players use mouse input for steering, and we've got you covered! It is possible to disable this feature through the interface settings. Streamlined Keyboard Shortcuts We have made a small change to the keyboard shortcuts. The F9 key no longer hides or shows the chat window. Instead, we've streamlined it to align with the rest of the GUI (Graphical User Interface), and the F11 key now serves this purpose. That's not everything! We have prepared a few more changes: Text Magic at Its Finest: Say goodbye to those irritating missing characters - our new font engine supports various character sets, including Chinese, Georgian, and even emojis, ensuring everyone's messages look perfect. Type Confidently: The input box has had a makeover - it can now handle longer messages (up to 200 characters) without cutting them off and supports commands (like Ctrl + Shift + arrows). Never Miss a Beat: Keep up with the conversation - the message history can now store up to 60 messages, and you can easily scroll through them. Time Stamps for Your Convenience: We've added time stamps to player messages, so you'll know when something was said. If you like a cleaner look, you can easily hide them in the settings. Chat with Ease: Using commands and mentioning other players is easier than ever, as the chat system offers dynamic autocomplete suggestions, making chatting a breeze. Your Feedback Matters! As with any update, your feedback is invaluable to us. We want to ensure that the new chat system meets your expectations and works seamlessly. Hello everyone, I've had the pleasure of enjoying gaming with all of you and creating countless memories. However, I regret to inform you that my health has taken a turn for the worse, and as a result, I will have to temporarily step away from gaming. Coming to this decision hasn't been easy, but I believe it's crucial to prioritize my health during this time. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the friends I've made while gaming. Hi there! This is a definite -1 from me. §1.4 - Reporting users > Evidence of inappropriate use of language, impersonation of any kind and inappropriate content, in the text chat must show the full chat open and unedited. The purpose of the above is to ensure that upon a RM / GM reviewing the evidence they can view the whole conversation, to gain a full understanding of the context. In addition to this, it also allows us to possibly understand why the user may have said what they did as we can see messages before and after. If the full chat is not displayed, as others have stated above, then this can result in every user saying what they wish in chat, without receiving a punishment as a user may choose to only report 1 user vs 2+ users.

Hi there! We are incredibly proud to announce that a new version 0.2.5.0.0 has been released marking a new milestone for TruckersMP. In this release, you will find a completely overhauled chat system, both on the system side and the user interface. Features The chat window automatically scales based on the resolution. This can be further tweaked via the interface settings All character sets (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Georgian, ...) are now properly displayed in the chat Message texts properly break to fit the chat window. They no longer span across the entire screen Messages can be as long as 200 characters without cutting off earlier The history of messages is a bit larger now with the possibility of scrolling through it Every player message is timestamped. This is customizable and can be hidden via the interface settings Player mentions and slash commands have a dynamic autocomplete The chat input now supports all text commands (selecting text, pasting, copying, ...) ... and many other small improvements For discussion, use the following topic:

Man, things are starting to happen at TMP - I like that. ^_- The new chat system now no longer looks like it's from 2006, but keeps up with the times and looks "newfangled". However, there is only one small thing that bothers me: I would put the chat messages a bit further down again, like it was before. Your statements substantiate the suspicion that the TruckersMP team or at least parts of it are not capable and/ or not willing to deal with the chaos in and around the area of Duisburg and Calais. To make matters worse, it sends a signal of disrespect towards users who report rule violations from that area, by refusing to increase the report score even if the report is valid and useful. Additionally, the TruckersMP team sends users who point out the problems of that area abroad. I therefore have to ask again: Quo vadis, TruckersMP?

Media Team Recruitment From the 14th of August until the 3rd of September, we will be looking for talented individuals to join our Media Team. You will be creating images or videos to be used on the TruckersMP website, forum or social media platforms. You will also, sometimes, modify given templates to fit specific needs. You're required to know Photoshop for modifying templates, and editing pictures (alternatives are welcome for this), Premiere and After Effects for videos. Core Requirements: Familiarity with TruckersMP and its rules; Must have a website account that is at least 12 months old; Must have a forum and Discord account for internal communication; Must be at least 16 years old; No bans or forum/Discord punishments within the last 12 months; Must have no more than 3 bans in the last 24 months; Good behaviour across our communication channels; Must be sufficiently proficient in English (written); Good communication skills; Resilient, active and flexible; Ability to work within a team and on your own at times; Eager to learn and progress your knowledge; Organised and adaptive; Be able to accept constructive criticism. Specific Qualifications Be creative and able to launch new ideas and concepts; Prior experience required. This position does not require any specific language skills, however understandable English is still a requirement as per the Core Requirements.
