  1. 5 players that play for 5 hours each will generate more reports than 10 players playing 1 hour each. Increasing the speedlimit will not directly generate more reports, because an increase in speed does not correlate to more playing hours necessarily. You need to see crashes/collisions seperately from generated reports. More crashes/collisions does not mean more reports if the people involved in the incidents do not report it. Why is this? Because someone who does not play TruckersMP that often does not feel it is worth his time to report stuff. Whereas people who do dedicate a lot of their free time on TruckersMP do feel it is worth to report. At least this is my understanding of their measurement. It's honestly the first time I have learned of its existence as well, so I am not familiar with it.
  2. The trailers are cool, thank you! Just wish there would be an achievement for non patreons as well. The achievements system hasn't been used since it got introduced, and now the 2nd ever achievement is behind a paywall.
  3. Props to the story, I really enjoyed it lol. Some additional information/context is missing, though. There are many roads that lead to the ocean. The Cheetah can only take the one road you are talking about. The Turtles like to walk on all the roads of the island, but they stubbornly insist on going on the Cheetah path to complain about the Cheetahs. Many moons ago, the Cheetahs could run even faster on this road. After listening to the complaints of the Turtles, the great council of Owls magically reduced the Cheetah's speed to only 110 KPH. However, this changed absolutely nothing. Same stuff happened, only at a bit slower speed. For years the Cheetahs asked the council of Owls to give them their own island. Where they could run faster, just like the old days. The Cheetah's argued that the Turtles and Cheetah's could each have their own island. The council of Owls obliged. They build a new island. The Turtles are angry about this new island. Neither the Cheetah nor the council of Owls understands why.
  4. 1: That's how the video starts, we don't see an actual collision. 2 & 3: That is clearly loading issues or hacking. In either case, it doesn't really proof your point. If it's loading issues, then the collisions are not his fault. If it's a hacker, then what exactly does that have anything to do with the server configuration? The only "collision" you can show me now are screenshots from a video you never even posted.
  5. Where exactly did the collisions happen?
  6. The funniest part to me is that nothing even really happened in those videos, lol. Someone overtook on the shoulder lane, and someone overtook via the grass. Sure, against the rules. And if someone reported them or if an admin saw it they would get a ban. But did it really alter anyone's gaming experience? Some players really need to take a big chill pill and not get so damn frustrated with everything they see. Let people play a game, jesus.
  7. Please refer to my first sentence.
  8. What do you mean? People have been doing this for years already, and nobody has been punished for following national road rules, lol. But yes, if you actively seek out the busiest places where hundreds of players are (don't forget that a massive part of this community are children) your chances of getting involved in an accident or trolls will increase. Nothing shocked pikachu face about that...
  9. That's not a nice thing to say.
  10. Is there supposed to be a point in here? It makes no sense at all. I guess we will never know.
  11. Once again, to be remain consistent with the last few years, Fernando's argument of "please only provide a server that caters to my playstyle, screw everybody else" is infallible. The concept of "the community" not solely being you, your friends, your playstyle, seems inconceivable to grasp. I think the only reason you hate this change is because you are afraid simulation 1 will die and everybody will play on simulation 2. Do you not want to be confronted with a reality where how you want to play this game, may not be in line with what everybody else wants?
  12. Crazy how many people are threatening about leaving, even though the server configuration for Simulation 1 hasn't even changed. Management only added a new server. Crazy how many people are complaining about ProMods being ruined, even though a new speedlimit does not affect their traffic jam simulator on Kirkenes at all. If you are afraid that the population of Simulation 1 may die, then clearly "the community" does not care about a 110 speedlimit. Why would TruckersMP limit themselves by offering a server that their community does not want?
  13. Can Europoort make a comeback as well now, please?
  14. Probably not easy to implement. I think they would have to change the physics of every truck and chassis type individually. Everytime SCS pushes an update, all those individual things can break. To make sure everybody is playing with the same physics, you'd have to disable the stability settings so people can't adjust how their truck feels. This is just from my understanding of how the game works. I am not a developer/add-on team member so I could be completely wrong. If I am correct, there is also a problem of TruckersMP dictating to you how to play the game and with which settings. Something I don't think many people will enjoy.
  15. I'd love to give more details about the nature of the reports. But I am not sure what exactly I am allowed to say about it.
  16. There are many reports, yes. But they are not all about "racing". They are literally asking the public for their opinion. And in the forum post (this thread) people are drawing the conclusion 'oh the blog post said X so Y must be happening, how bad!' regarding the server speedlimit. There is no reason to go down that route other than to be dramatic.
  17. None of what you are saying is relevant to the topic. The survey mentioned server configuration and people immediately jumped to the conclusion that TruckersMP will turn into a 150 KPH race track. This is a baseless assumptions and not an attempt at trying to solve an issue, or trying to figure out what a problem might be.
  18. Been playing since 2015 and was a Game Moderator fom May 2021 till December 2022. I know what CD is like.
  19. But nobody is trying to solve a problem, lol. People are just assuming TruckersMP is turning into Wreckfest/NFS. How is that trying to solve a problem?
  20. It's not a surprise that people are making assumptions. But that is not the fault of releasing some data or not. People can also just simply not make baseless assumptions, no?
  21. I agree with you that with SCS' convoy mode the "Road to Simulation" is hard to achieve. I think there is a slow shift in the playerbase where most sim players have moved to convoy mode. And rightfully so. A lot of players right now play on TruckersMP for the MMO aspect, and not necessarily for hardcore simulation. I am talking about wacky save-edits, unlimited money, not really caring whether you have damaged your truck and probably not even driving with cargo. However I do want to point out that rule §2.8 wasn't changed to increase player numbers. It was unfair to permanently ban people even though their bans may be due to small mistakes. Keep in mind that younger people also play this game. In just 1 year they can easily rack up enough bans due to uninentional rule violations. What seems logical to you or me in traffic just doesn't apply to them. And to permanently ban intentional rule violators, rule §2.9 already existed and should have been used more. Rather than just passively letting rule §2.8 permanently ban trolls along with people who do not deserve a permanent ban.
  22. The gaps are created due to phantom traffic jams (some know it as the accordion effect). I don't really know how to explain it properly in English so I will leave that to this video with some visualization: https://youtu.be/L45HwjzMu0g?t=61 (Should play automatically from 1:01) This is why the tail of the convoy is often able to drive 150 KPH, even though the convoy lead is cruising at 60 or 80. This effect already occurs when you do jobs with a group of 5 to 10 people, and I think many people know this from experience as well. When you have a convoy of 100+ people this effect is greatly amplified. EDIT: These gaps are not only created from phantom traffic jams, but also real bottlenecks like on/off-ramps from highways for example.
