I just don’t see the connection between my experience and the amount of mistakes I make if I don’t know how the game works, what rules differ on tmp than real life and alike.
You could put a real life police officer that has never touched the game as GM and that police officer would make more mistakes than a GM with no driving experience. The GM has experience with the game. Has been taught the rules and has been taught to analyse situations related to the rules.
The police officer hasn’t. The police officer doesn’t know what to keep an eye out for in an environment like TMP.
My point is, we are taught what to look for in the environments we work with. RMs/GMs are specialised in the TMP rules and how to spot those on a monitor in a virtual world that takes other factors in to consideration.
We have great and skilled moderators across the team. And to be fair; there is a lower age limit of 16 years old to join the TMP team. On top of that it is expected you have experience with TruckersMP. Road signage isn’t the most difficult to learn and most people have already been presented to road signs when they turn 16. If you have ever walked around or used a bike you have already been presented with road laws, signs and their purpose.
