Rules regarding the use of beacons

Suggestion Name: Rules regarding the use of beacons.
Suggestion Description: There should be further rules added, highlighting when the appropriate time to use beacons is. I see trucks all the time using beacons when they have no reason to do so, and I think a lot of confusion is caused by this.

Any example images: N/A

Why should it be added?: I think this should be added, because inappropriate use of beacons can cause confusion. For example people who drive pilot cars around give other pilots a bad name, because they drive around with the beacons on. The beacons are meant to indicate when they are escorting a convoy. Using them when you are not it gives the wrong impression. Like wise trucks should use them when they are hauling heavy loads and no other time. The only exception to this being when stopped at the side of the road in the dark in a poorly lit area, or if you are in a VTC that uses trucks to escort convoys.

There is really no need for beacons to be in the game, except for your truck to 'look nice'. There is not oversize loads that require warning, there is not road works etc.. so using beacons is essentially useless (maybe an exception for convoys).

There is already a rule, as mentioned above, regarding appropriate/ not appropriate places to use beacons

A new rule regarding where and why to use them would be impossible to enforce, as nearly everyone in-game as some sort of beacons on their truck.

I see no issue with players using beacons when they are not near the C-D, or Rotterdam/ Europoort. This rule is enforced there as beacons will ultimately cause lag there. That's really the only reason. I also see no real reason why players would get confused, especially around others parts of the map which aren't particularly busy.

Overall, I really don't think there is any need to add on to the existing beacon rules. They suffice perfectly fine, and are enforceable at the same time. No need to make the rule even more confusing.

@Attached I know that there is already rules. Even if they are just guidelines I think people need to be better educated about beacons. I am sorry, but I can already tell that you are one of those people who use them incorrectly.

Incorrect.

I will send you a PM, explaining fully that I do not at any point use beacons on my truck. I never have, never will. They are useless in-game, no reason for them to be there.

Not going to discuss this here, I will tell you personally why you are so incorrect with your comment.

PS: You need to learn to take some negative feedback sometime ;)

Seems like a useless suggestion, not many people follow the current rule regarding beacons, why would they follow this one?

Lastly, don't try to cause arguments because not many people like your idea, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Basically, some people might forget that their beacons are on

That's what happens sometimes. Even to me before I remove the keybind for the beacons.

But a lot of trollers in cars / trucks keep their beacons on to make others who have bad PCs lag, especially in traffic jams. D:

I used to turn them on when I had to do an emergency brake and the guy behind me was coming at high speed.

So he could see the beacons turning on (+ the warning lights) and know that something happened ahead.

And when he's stopped behind me, I turn both of them off.

I get your point, and i have seen people drive by without any load having them on (and that can be annoying, both for your fps and eyes). But! It doesn't irritate me that much that i think we should have a rule about it :) It is a question about taste, some like the beacons on as soon as they're driving with trailer more than 30/50T, others like it with the high power cargo etc. :) And i don't think i'm the right person to judge whether that's ok.

In the end, beacons barely affect anything unless you have an absolute potato of a laptop in which case you really shouldn't be playing MP. This would also be hard to enforce for such a minor rule. -1 from me.

And learn to take feedback, if you can't take constructive criticism on an online forum, have fun getting through real life...

I use beacons. A lot. Because I'm doing almost exclusively WoT jobs, looking for the highest Price/distance ratio. Many of those jobs are trailers from the High Power Cargo DLC, limited to 70 Km/h max. and that's why I use beacons. If I'm driving 70 Km/h while others (most of them) are coming 100+ Km/h, I'd rather be noticed from far away than rear-ended. I see your point, it's a nightmare driving in some cities with 50+ people, 80% of them without trailer and yet lots of beacons on their trucks always on, but... Like others have said, enforcing this rule would be almost impossible. And you can change an option to make your game not showing them (show secondary lights or something like that), so I'm guessing this suggestion will be rejected.

I can take feedback. I would appreciate it if you could keep out of things that don't concern you.

@fidget3306 This topic concerns all the players of TMP which makes your argument invalid. This is about the in-game rules after all.

@BLU // MUTLOB There was nothing said about the beacons affecting the frame rate of the game. This is about the gaming experience and realism. Your comment is also very hostile and "constructive criticism" does not describe it.

Ready to go!

Firstly, the number does not have to be that big, we can all see. Secondly I would appreciate it if you could keep out of things that don't concern you.
