Think i found out why the updates are taking so long, it appears to be an issue with the car sounds ( spotted this on the scs forum ) TeamDeer posted this,as its public i think i can share it? " After much testing and hours of investigation, I am still coming up empty. I am unable to change the sounds for "air_gear" "reverse" and "air_cutoff" etc. My goal is to eliminate these sounds only for a modded vehicle and not for the rest of the trucks. For starters, everything is routed correctly into the truck_effects mix. All of the effects are laid out correctly and assigned into their own bank. I have tried with naming the bank 'effects' and naming is 'effects_truck'. Only result is the first option overwrites everything in game and no effects play at all. I have no idea where to go from here. I have made the .soundref files but really don't know where to put them. Currently, I have them sitting in "/sound/truck/skoda/effects_reverse.soundref" as an example. The game refuses to load them. There is no where inside of the DEF files that calls upon truck effects. It seems DEF files can only define the engine sounds which are located in a bank. They can define the sound of interior items, blinkers, sticks, etc, which are located inside of a bank. Finally, you can define a custom air horn and horn by changing the SII cabin file ( accessory_cabin_data )
CODE: SELECT ALL
EX: sound_horn: "/sound/truck/horn/horn_skoda.soundref" sound_air_horn: "/sound/truck/air_horn/air_horn_skoda.soundref"
Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions or have been able to make the changes themselves? This limitation and lack of information from SCS leads me to believe that it's not possible at this time. Vehicles sounds must be hard coded at this point in time. "

@Lasse I assume its ok to post that from the SCS Forum, just thought it would clarify for people! SCS have locked engines & sounds together ( its obvious when you drive a save edited truck as the sound changes from what you set i.e volvo engines will have their sound regardless of what you edited )

@Smoky_TMP I didn't think it would being as it was posted public on the scs forum, but thought i would check & if it was a problem naturally id expect it to be deleted! It still amazes me how modders can make better sounds than scs, not a fan of the new horn sounds which are blatently ripped from ats but apparently they are place holders so heres hoping they add new stuff soon when they can.....
