    i really hope for AMD to get theyre stuff together with the 300 series

      Pretty sure the 300 series cards are rebrands, at least at the high end. AFAIK AMD's only new card is the fury (the one with HBM)

      i read somewhere that due to the way the new cards are being made or being programmed that its impossible for AMD to rebrand the older cards

      You mean the new HBM memory right? It's only on their fury card. All the other cards are rebrands, thought there's rumours that the 390x will be a new chip but those same rumours claim that the 390x will be on the GCN 1.1 architecture which doesn't seem likely for a new chip as the 285 was GCN 1.2.
