Changes to the recruitment system

Hello fans of truck simulation!

 

You speak, we hear you.

During the survey and other points of contact such as the forum, feedback and social media we have received many remarks on team members having 1 or more bans. Those that have been here for a long time might remember that in the very beginning you couldn't have any bans if you wanted to join the team. That requirement was dropped because it's not fair to players who have made some stupid mistakes and because it also made recruiting new members increasingly more difficult. With that in mind the requirement was changed to not having a certain amount of bans within the last year. So now people who wanted to could join the team, even with a few minor bans to their name. However, this created other issues and new remarks and suggestions came to our attention from players and team members.

 

What now?

As part of a plan to improve the TruckersMP staff team and lift it to a higher level (by increasing our standards amongst other things), the management team have decided to set the maximum amount of bans you can have as a candidate to join to 3 bans all time. This includes all active and expired bans that have an end date older than 1 year (bans that have been deleted by management are not counted). To make it easier for team managers during the recruitment process the system will automatically block all applications in which a candidate has more than 3 bans. As a result a candidate will not be able to save his/her application if he/she has more than 3 bans registered.

I have been able to pass the ban check and saved my application, will my application automatically be accepted?

No, all applications are evaluated for the different requirements, as well as the nature of the bans.

 

What with existing TruckersMP team members that have more than 3 bans registered?

It is our philosophy that existing team members are not removed after being accepted when the minimum requirements are changed. Because of that they will remain as team members.

Looks Interesting, but I still think that at first you need to see who is that person, what's his behaviour in last year and only then make a decision, maybe someone had 5 bans 2 years ago but now he understand that he was just a bit stupid and didn't take this game serious.

For example, when I started playing TMP I didn't even know game rules, I didn't play this serious, but then, when I joined forum and got more information about TruckersMP community I understood that I was doing everything wrong and that my behaviour was bad. Im trying my best to improve since 2018 and I think im doing that well (I hope so)

I appreciate that the quality of the team is trying to be improved but I don't think this is the best thing. Quality should be decided not by mistakes people have made in the past. It should be decided by the way they communicate with the community, The content they post and any skills they show in team work, leadership and such.

There are too many situations where this scheme doesn't fit well. For example. You can have an applicant that's had one ban in their history but is absolutely not fit for the community. Then you have someone who has been banned 3 times in their history over 2 years ago but have now changed their ways and is a now perfect candidate. 

Mistakes are mistakes and happened in the past. They were punished at the time for it but it seems TMP wants to continue punishing people even though the person was already punished. It's in the past don't dwell on it.

if people have 3 bans or less on the truckersmp website profile then they can pass getting there application blocked but its then the forum warning what will get the application declined

Of course, people can make mistakes, and that is why we allow you to have up to 3 bans on your profile. This means that even if you're showing good behaviour now, we will still look at your history and select new potential team members that way. 

 

As we value and listen to your feedback, we have implemented this system. However, know that we cannot please everyone in most of the cases here. Some might agree, others might disagree. 

Any more feedback is appreciated, and will be listened to. However please know we can't always do something with the feedback we receive. This is not because we don't listen to you, but because we carefully plan things out and make sure to give you all the best we can at a certain time.

TMP doesn't represent themselves in the best way possible here though. People do make mistakes but why should people still be penalised for mistakes they had 2/3 years ago. Say they have 3 bans from over 2 years ago when they were younger and made stupid decisions and they have now grown up and got more mature you're saying now that you're not willing to give people a chance?

We do give them a chance when they have 3 bans, please re-read the topic and my comment. As I also said, we cannot please everyone in situations like this. You might disagree, while others agree with the change.

Well kill me then.

I have 6 bans on my history wich of 5 expired and the last one expires at 19th October. Even if all expired I have litterally zero chance of becoming a game mod  gues ill just die then
