I suggest $5 donation / Monthly to be able to drive over 110, then people wouldnt troll around and waste their Money being banned, and the Community would get Money, Win win :troll:

5 dollars might not be so much but many people play in non european countries, so if you add the currency change, it will cost them a lot. for example lets take Turkish Liras; 1 dollar is 5.72 TL 5 dollar is 28,60 TL, not to mention it can change with political events. this 30TL is like 30 dollars. a person can fill his stomach for 3-4 days with that kind of money. donations can be made, more than that i would suggest a system where everyone will get points for driving good and not getting reported, each week or each month, players will get points and after reaching a certain amount of points they will be able to drive over the current speed limit. if they do something against the rules, 10-20 points would be removed from them. each period of time, players would get 5-10 points, after reaching 50 or 100 points they would be able to drive on high speeds, if they get banned 20 points would be removed from them. this way the penalty would be more severe that will make them drive peacefuly.

also paying to drive faster is a no go cause they can simply get a new account on steam discounts, also i dont think that they will pay for it :)

So you use SCS's game, make mods on it and get money for that? I hope you've read the EULA.

The mod is free.

A donation is optional.

A  pay to drive we already  brought ets2 no thankyou but a pay a yearly subscription to use a mod server sign me right up.  That way we would be supporting the servers that have mods implemented on and helping the team at the same time.

https://www.gtxgaming.co.uk/rust-server-hosting/

@Andy2790 A server with 400 slots costs £800 & a more powerful one with other stuff costs £2000! < < < That will never happen though because if you started charging people to play SCS would sue the living * beep * out of you in court because your making money off their products! In other words, have fun in prison

No no not me I not tech savy enough anyway . Also  SCS made EST2 so they own all the right correct.  and they also allow the community to add there own mods into their games. so  I wonder if SCS would bring out their own online MP platform  in the distant  near future. Also arent gaming server just to connect pc users to other pc users to play online together via their own personal game and the servers just keeps a steady connection.

No because you would need the game client / source code to make an mp in the first place & your not gonna get that unless you do it yourself being its highly illegal, anyone who leaks such things literally faces life behind bars! SCS are working on some form of MP but its unlikely to be like TMP & more on the lines of what WOT is.....

Besides all that the fact TMP & IFMP ( coming soon........ ) exist is enough, SCS could decide to ruin everyones day & sue etc if loads of people start doing it meaning a lot of people would be arrested etc ( no one wants that ). Mod wise they allow mods but there are some people who charge for mods which is probably also illegal *cough* RTA Mods *cough*

So essentially you want to cause TMP to be shut down because essentially you are profiting off of a free mod by allowing people to only go faster than x speed if they pay a “donation”. That’s like a game developer telling you that you can drive any car In the game free, but to go faster than 10MPH you have to pay £50 for the luxury.

Nobody in their right mind mind would pay money just to be able to drive faster. It’s a slippery slope then, why do you think games that have “Pay to Win” items in them are hated by a lot of good players?

Now a a more realistic solution would be to add a licensing system and passing certain criteria allow you to drive faster etc etc, similar to your idea, but 100% free and, if implemented right, fairer too.

^  just a similar idea came into my mind

Why not force teleport to a particular place for a driving test in Sim server... For all first login after registration or after a ban...  Make a hardcore driving test identical to real life one such as basic control, signalling, speed limit... etc. and just a few AI traffic to sync...

Failing the test just force F7 kick and start over...

When finished the test, welcome to full simulation..  haha...

(Note: I am not a fan of full simulation style in MP)

I rarely see staff in game, and you expect them to run tests on players lol it is not gonna happen.

Also you know it is a game, any test will be easy, only thing can be done is set up an exam like FiveM RP servers use. That way people will be forced to enter the test and if they fail they will need to redo the test. This way MP will be clear of most of the kids who cant drive. Also changing the content of the questions every week would help a lot to block people leaking the answers

A real hardcore driving test will not be easy...  There are so many scenarios that can instantly fail the test...  the system is not possible to detect if the driver did check mirrors and blind spot, which makes it easier like you said..

Anyway if there is a dedicated server to test, can be on CD road, no speed limit... and must include a route that making a left turn at the gas station...  any collision, over speeding, failing to yield etc... becomes instant fail and kick...

Yesterday i played 3 hrs on Sim 1 server and to be honest this update is just a piece of the puzzle ..., the speed is not the problem. the real problem are the people that are here just to ruin sombody's piece of relax

there were 2 guys that drived in front of me and every time when i tried to overpass them, they rammed me down, and not just me anyone who tried to overtake them got rammed over by those 2 ppl.. speed is not the issue here, the ppl that don't want to play nice and ez the game they just want to ruin their mood.. this limitation as u call it will not solve the problem of reports and others.

i express this opinion because i`m not in the favour of the limitation, but i still play because there are a lot of ppl there, i would imply for collisions in arcade 1 so we can move over there that's all.

tks.

I do understand your pain .. if that happens again report them via the tab  or type  \pinfo in the chat and it will bring up their player id then you can report them via truckers mp site

After driving one week with the speed limit I want to change my vote.

Here in the forums I was looking for a reason to change the speed limit to the old system with 150 km/h. In the first few days I was angry about the speed limit. I did get bored to see the lameness on the road, the missing traffic jams. For a moment I became weak and went reckless to have a little action.

After this moment I started "trolling" other guys by following the whole traffic rules. Driving with 60 when I can only go 60 and 80 when I can only go 80. I pay attention to the speed limit and traffic rules completely like on a real road, and I saw how others were reacting to this.
It was funny to see how others try to overtake and crash on oncoming traffic. And I am not even the bad guy on this, because I was following the traffic rules. And this is the sense of this changes here.

So I became a roleplayer on C-D-route and following the traffic rules further.

This is now one week ago since I started with the roleplay and I saw many crashes and idiots, and everytime I asked: "We tried to find reasons for removing the speed limit again, and all these idiots here speeding with 110 on oncoming traffic. Do we really need the 150 km/h when such idiots are on the road?"

So I tried to find only reasons for me to remove the speed limit.

Yes, it is really boring driving with 110 on empty roads.
Yes, I miss the traffic jams for miles we had before on c-d-route.
But the idiots on the roads are killing every reason for removing the speed limit with their stupid actions.

Now I have nearly the same fun as the fun before the update (remember: i start playing TruckersMP when  I saw  a "Idiots on the road"-video ;) ).

Idiots are crashing me, tailgating, cut me off, etc... And I start to like this with a whole roleplay action.

So I want to change my vote from "I don't like the speed limit" to "It is ok with the speed limit.".

How severs should be in my opinon.

Arcade, 4200slots: NO Speed limit, WITH Colision, “No rules” or as FREEROM Server, such as previus eu4, but with colision. Skoda alowed, of course.

GM (admins) should Never moderate this server, only look at website reports, with low priority, for hacking, insulting or other rules applied on Freeroam servers (eu4), before the changes. Any other kind of reports on this server will get rejected “automatically”.

Simulation “Harcore”. 2200 slots, Real Speed limits (50 or 60 km/h on cities, 90 outside of it) Skoda ALLOWED (at this low speed, should be only used as Escort Convoy... or “caravan travels”) and High priority of GM in-game Moderation, hopefully 2 or 3 at Peak time, if possible.

Also, the bans lengh for the first 3 bans, which admins decides the duration, on this server Must NEVER be LOWER THAN 1 WEEK. ( Overal Increase of Punishment ONLY on this server).

And a 3rd server Arcade-Simulator, just like the “old” EU3: 2000 slots, Skoda NOT Allowed, Arcade Speed Limit: 80km/h cities, 150km/h outside. And “usuall” ban lengh/duration of the first 3 bans. Here GM could do some In-game Moderation

So everyone will get the server it wants, but if you want more and more speed, anarchy goes attach to it.

Also, you must show in which server you are when recording for a Website Report in orther to apply the different ban leghts.

And sorry if my writting english is too simple... react how you want.

Well after being trolled almost 3 times during a 1200 mile trip from Helsinki to Southampton, I can conclude that the speed limits have not made a difference, in fact, they’ve enhanced the effects of trolls and bad drivers, and that is the big issue, speed isn’t the problem, it’s the way people drive, the way people act, if it’s not someone trolling by weaving back and forth than slamming on the anchors for no reason (and before anyone says, oh that’s just lag, I would agree if I didn’t see their brake lights come on and their truck almost do a stoppie with how hard they hit the brakes), then you get people who seem to act as if mirrors are an optional extra that’s not required and so change lanes or pull out off the hard shoulder without even bothering to check for traffic.

like many, after a few runs with the speed limiters, I’ve gotten used to it and have to cater trips more for the time I have than the other way around, but the experience isn’t fun when you could be in the middle of nowhere with low traffic and come across trolls wanting to disrupt things for “fun” then when you report them, you may as well buy a lottery ticket than have any hope of justice being served.

This is is why I fear that TMP have dropped the ball when it comes to “the road to simulation” because while slowing people down things traffic out more meaning less likelihood of tailbacks that stretch halfway between cities, but the downside is, is that there is far more incidents involving trolling or poor decision making, thus meaning the number of reports gets bigger and bigger and the number of acted upon reports gets smaller.

The simple solution is to take the most common and serious issues and make those issues have much stricter rules and punishments as well as a high priority to get trouble makers that ruin the game off the roads, I mean, I’m fine with dealing with “idiots” they are the ones that make driving in TMP hilarious, but those who’s soul objective is to ram, hack, glitch or block should be dealt with swiftly.

If the 110 kmh speed limit applies to the CD road and other country road that’s fine. My biggest concern is the underlying problem when driving in a constantly empty highway at this speed.  Did you make a try?
