Do you have administrator rights on your Windows Account?

Does the download start, or does the error appear while already downloading?

Hello, @Flacki The following fixes will resolve most update and installation errors with Steam.

 - Restart your computer.

- Clear The Download Cache. Follow these steps;

• Steam -> Settings > Downloads > Clear Download Cache

- Verify Local Files. Follow these steps;

• Euro Truck Simulator 2  > Right click > Properties > Local Files > Verify the Integrity of Game Files.

- Move the Euro Truck Simulator 2 folder to the another hard drive.

• Steam > Settings > Downloads > Steam Library Folders > Add new Library folder

- Re-install Steam (https://store.steampowered.com/about/)
