Speed limit increase on small cars

I've got an interesting suggestion. Please read below

 

Suggestion Name:

Speed limit increase on small cars

 

Suggestion Description:

Going faster than 110 km/h on small cars

 

Why should it be added?:

While I think driving a truck at 110km/h is reasonable. I think it would be a nice buff for small cars to go more than 110 km/h or at least 130 km/h. I feel like it adds to the simulation servers

I do not agree because it is already a lot that cars on truckersMP reach speeds of 110 km / h. 

Also consider that... Cars usually have less stability than trucks and can easily collide with other players creating accidents. 

 

Cars with trailers could perhaps have more stability but cars without trailers (caravans) in my opinion... With strong speed, they have little stability and it is easy to clash with other players. 

 

Since there is the C-D road and many players travel it is very dangerous that cars like skodas can exceed 110 km/h. 

Bringing the speed above 110 km/h for cars on highways, it will be the same on the C-D road and is dangerous.

hello, i agree with you, but in some situations it is sometimes better if cars drive faster, in convoys it would be better.
But given the location on C-D Road, it doesn't make sense to increase the speed on the simulation servers for cars.

First of all, thank you. 

 

I agree with you. However... For example... If the idea of increasing the speed to 130 km/h for cars is accepted, they can travel anywhere and not just for convoys. 

 

Even if the convoys on the C-D road can't to travel if I'm not mistaken. 

 

But when a player uses the car on the game and does not have a convoy... he can drive in the same way with speed up to 130 km/h (even on the C-D road) and it is very dangerous when there are many players on server simulation 1 (Where most players usually travel). 

 

I think that before deciding whether to accept an idea like this... It is necessary to evaluate pros and cons.

While there may be positives to this suggestion, there are also many negatives that may be more important than the positives.

 

If you want to drive at higher speeds, you can always connect to the Simulation 2 server and enjoy the 150 km/h speed limit there.
If you feel that it makes convoy management easier, you can also host convoys on the Simulation 2 server and limit the convoy lead speed to, let's say, 90km/h, so that there's a greater difference in speed between trucks and cars.

 

On the negative side, this would just feed the trolls at popular locations. The higher the speed, the harder it is to control the vehicle, making driving more dangerous.

I really do appreciated, you are trying to improve or bring some  new idea to TMP.  However sometimes is better to think or look before you create the suggestion. 

 

After reviewing your suggestion I have come to a conclusion you might be that one of reckless drivers, that can be found on C-D road, just kidding. Why should have they increased the speed limit? 

 

My answer is no, and some kind of those drivers should realize that this is a simulator not the race game. There is nothing to say.

They're opened Sim2 you can easily go there and play always you can drive with 150 km/h.

I have a negative stance on the proposal to increase the speed limit for small cars to over 110 km/h in TruckersMP, and here's why:

 

The reason behind my opposition to this proposal is that on Simulation 1 server, all drivers adhere to a speed limit of 110 km/h. If we raise the speed limit for small cars, it can be exploited by reckless drivers or trolls who engage in dangerous driving behaviors. This could lead to an increase in accidents or collisions. Additionally, if someone wishes to drive at speeds exceeding 110 km/h, they can join other simulation servers where different rules and speed limits may apply.

Therefore, my position is based on maintaining a fair and safe driving environment where all vehicles can compete on an equal footing. The speed limit for small cars serves as a necessary measure to ensure a level playing field and promote safety. It is also important to provide different simulation servers so that individuals can choose the driving experience that suits their preferences.

In conclusion, I am against increasing the speed limit for small cars to over 110 km/h. This is done to prioritize safety and cooperation on Simulation 1 server, as well as to provide a range of server options catering to different driving preferences.

Increasing the speed limit of passenger vehicles would increase realism of road traffic.

If people driving cars were driving responsibly and respectfully I would say yes as it's more realistic.

However:

• the majority of car drivers are not respecting the road/safety rules and overtake anywhere at any time
• at 110km/h it is already very unpredictable in curves
• cars already have a strong acceleration which makes them more powerful and faster than trucks
• people rarely use cars on motorways where going over 110km/h would make more sense

 

So my answer would be No.

Not banned. Just not in the hands of those who can't drive it. (Cough CD Cough). After all, it was initially released to be a Convoy Pilot Escort. Also got a Police version for staff.

 

When the Skoda was first released in 2016, there was no speed limiter. It was super easy to flip at high speeds.

There's already enough trolls on CD with cars. Making them exempt of the speed limiter so that they can go faster is a bad idea.

Like a post above mentioned, want to go 150? Go to Sim 2.

When the Simulation server reset took place about a year ago it was discussed to have a different speed limit for cars on Simulation 1. In the end we decided not to implement this feature because Scout drivers are not the audience for the Simulation 1 server; that is our realism simulation server and we do not feel it necessary to have a different speed limit for the Scout here.

 

As mentioned above, Simulation 2 has a higher speed limit which you can use if you want to drive the car faster.
