  1. And this is why many of used to turn the chat off, but we can’t do that anymore - not without turning tab and everything else off at the same time…
  2. I’ve watched the rec culture grow and grow into a mess of unimaginable portions. Being “rec’d” is now used to scare munger people. People feel it’s cool to drive around sporting a tag claiming they’re recording etc. There’re even people who go to extreme lengths to “flex” the fact that have got numerous people banned by including their web reporting score in their twitch live streams, for example. Do i think it’s good? No, I think it’s rather sad. This is a truck game, not a who can report the most people contest. Reporting systems are for rule violators, not for ego boosting. The fact that the majority of the “rec” culture’s most avid participants lack the most basic of driving ability is more than ironic. It’s actually concerning how many people I’ve seen sporting a “rec” tag in-game while driving about and their driving be dreadful. Apologies in advance for any spelling or grammar errors here, I wrote this on very little sleep - but I hope the point gets across.
  3. There are people who use cars maliciously and there are people who use cars correctly. There are also people who use trucks maliciously and people who use trucks correctly. Cars are infamous for abuse, but it doesn't mean they are not also used correctly. The same applies to trucks—some people use them correctly, while others use them for rampages. What I'm trying to convey is that just because a select few use cars maliciously doesn't mean the car itself should be removed for everyone who wishes to use them correctly. It's also worth noting that regardless of the vehicle someone is in, if they wish to be reckless, they'll be reckless.
  4. Hey @EymenTheFlash, Whilst banned on one account, one should not use another account to attempt to access our servers. Doing so constitutes "ban evasion," as you're actively bypassing the ban. You are welcome to use another account for the website and forum while one of your accounts is banned, but using another account to access our servers while banned is not permitted. If found to be ban evading, you may have your ban extended, as per rule §1.2 - Ban Evading. Hope this helps, Bean
  5. This is frequently suggested: And, in my opinion, isn't something that should be added. I like the current system.
  6. This is similar to this suggestion
  7. Happy birthday, mate :HaulieLove:

      Thank you!

  8. This has nothing to do with what the OP said
  9. This is the most commonly asked question. Just because you don't always see an admin doesn't mean they're not present. Some will be driving around, and others may be monitoring game reports or areas of the map. There are roughly 127 staff members with game admin privileges. These staff members have lives. As such, they cannot respond to every beck and call. Regarding game reports timing out, there's no straightforward fix for this. Because you need a bunch of admins, reports hardly ever get completely handled. Thinking that adding more admins would magically solve it is a bit too optimistic. There has always been a smaller number of admins on ProMods, as many don't have all the required DLCs or the mod installed. There are also far fewer incidents occurring on ProMods compared to Simulation one. As such, Simulation one tends to have the lion's share of admins. In short, there will never be enough online admins to handle all game reports, regardless of how many admins you recruit. Attempts to alleviate the game report load are always hindered by the prevailing "rec ban" culture. At roughly 13:46 (GMT), there were 8 admins online. All of whom were on Simulation 1.
  10. We're asking for the issued date, not the expiry date. An issued date wouldn't violate the user's privacy in any way. For example, you can see when a user gets banned in-game via the "x has been banned" message. I'd also like to highlight that we do not seek to know how long a user/player has been banned for. The entire purpose of this addition would be to enable better representation of the facts, and to enable us to better document. That then opens the doors to negligence. Whereas, if we have a streamlined system for tracking bans, we can automate the process - without the need to rely on users.
  11. Why don't you read the suggestion before commenting utter rubbish?
  12. A system like this wouldn't be able to issue bans by itself. I don't understand what you mean by "Please try next time if you are in a VTC.", if you could elaborate, that'd be greatly appreciated.
  13. Suggestion Name: Swap bannedUntil with bannedSince on the API Suggestion Description: As we can no longer see when a ban expires via the website nor the API, would it be possible to replace this value (on the API) with the time the ban was issued? Any example images: N/A Why it should be added: I've developed tools to allow VTCs to see when their drivers get banned. An issued time is a helpful piece of information that could better the user experience, and provide more clarity. It can also help us, as this isn't available on the API, distinguish between bans issued via the website or in-game. All helpful insights.
  14. A effective way to determine who your friends are would be to use your Steam friends list. I.e /friends: - David (103) Tag: rec ban and so on...
  15. This command is exactly the same as what Trucky provides with their friends list. So should this get declined, you can always look there for a similar alternative.
  16. Afaik, if you're banned in-game, admins don't have to upload evidence until the person banned requests said evidence via their appeal. Therefore, some punishments may not contain evidence. If you're banned via a web report, there, in 9/10 cases, will always be sufficient evidence. If evidence is present, you can find it in your punishment history and/or if you're currently banned, the red banner at the top of the page. "Evidence of bans must be requested within the period of the ban being active through the appeal system." - §5.3 - Appealing and filing a complaint
  17. I've used all but one of the third parties mentioned. TrucksBook doesn't really add anything to the game experience - aside from real/race jobs. There isn't really a useable economy built within it. I've only briefly used VTC.World so can't really comment there. Trucky is fantastic if you're looking for all-in-one solution. When I was religiously logging jobs, Trucky was a very helpful tool & made numerous qol (quality of life) improvements to my experience. Namely, the fact that any damage, fuel charges and fines were reflected in the profit for a job. Because such things were reflected in how much I could make, I'd always try to ensure that I was driving as well as I could to make the most money. This is exactly what the hardcore simulation fans are looking for, in my experience. Games like Alaskan Road Truckers do quite a good job of adding realism, in my opinion. However, the chances of such a thing coming to life here are slim. Recently, things have diverted away from "Simulation," and more towards how we can keep players – at least, that's how it seems from my point of view. If this, or some iteration of this, were to come to life, I feel it may restore some faith & allow those seeking a true simulation experience a way to do so in a troll-free environment.

    Speed

A higher speed limit was what the community asked for - https://truckersmp.com/blog/288. Just because a higher speed limit is there, doesn't impede your ability to be realistic, though. Just limit yourself, or enable the in-game limiter.
  19. Its a nice idea. But, in my experience, most incidents occur from people failing to give way when pulling out of the station.
  20. I've save-edited my money and save-edited most of my trucks. Money isn't something I use often, and therefore, it bears little significance to me. It is, however, a key aspect for those who play very realistically. From previous mentions of the subject, I know they wish for servers where the economy is global, and fines, etc., are forced on. A system like this would be beneficial for those who play the game for that experience but may have negative repercussions on those who only play to drive up and down one road (aka a rather large percentage of the player base). Therefore, an economy change would have to either strike a balance or be server specific. Say, there's one server that has a certain array of trucks that you can drive. You can only modify them with items that belong to that specific truck. Your profile economy is overwritten by a server economy; everybody earns the same for jobs, and everybody will be fined for speeding, etc. Perhaps you can even level up your truck by delivering more jobs, allowing you to get a better model or unlocking superior trucks. There'd be a starting amount that everyone is given to get them started, and then it's up to each player to work their way up the ladder. Additionally, if people can only drive sensibly modified trucks, it'd put an end to some of the horrific save edits floating around.
  21. Suggestion Name: Show Secondary Roles on API Suggestion Description: Currently only the main group name is shown on the API. It'd be good if we could see secondary roles via the API too. Any example images: N/A Why it should be added: Clarity and just a nice to have feature.
  22. The way you said made it sound like it was directed to me, hence my confusion.
