Adding New Bus to TruckersMP

Suggestion Name: Adding new bus to TruckersMP

Suggestion Description: In DBus World official page, there are few other buses. There are better options like Iveco Evadys than the existing bus right now.

Why it should be added: Firstly, I will speak for myself. I do not enjoy the electric bus in this game. It's quite slow, small and feels like a toy sometimes. I believe people (and I) will like the Iveco Evadys bus more. Thanks

Despite the smaller hitbox on the current bus, it's on par with WoT jobs. Plus, nobody likes Iveco.

I don't support thus idea as the game is called - Euro Truck Simulator 2, not a bus.. 

 

I honestly think the one bus in the game a enough and we don't need any more buses. In the case TMP would like to add something, I will be more than happy to see some map reworks as a C-D road, Fuel station etc.

This is a Truck simulator game,buses,cars and more vehicles they want to add more...makes no sense IMO.

Indeed, those that are already present should be removed... as well as the cars.. 

If you really like buses, either go to bus simulator or go to singleplayer and play with mods.

Am okay with bluebus it just needs modification.

It really needs to be upgraded.

 

A truck simulation yes : but, thank God they are cars and a bluebus..

Don’t have a problem of buses being in the game personally but I don’t see any need for TMP to implement it considering we already know SCS is working on more vehicles including busses(Coaches)

This popular opinion of can't add anything else unless is a truck because the game has truck in the name is nonsense.

 

In singleplayer there's cars, buses and a ton of other variants. In tmp we still don't have AI Traffic, so seeing all the time Trucks is not that pleasant, even more because we have limited customizations enforced in tmp.

 

I don't see any problem having other vehicles like coach buses, when they are comparable to small and big trucks, like rigid trucks and others, also pickup trucks are considered trucks too.

 

 

Also the ets map is made for driving through interurban areas, I don't understand why tmp or dbus added only one bus and on top of that a urban bus, when there's a bunch of buses available in singleplayer by dbus.

Yes, this opinion is quite correct as ETS2 is about driving trucks and delivering cargo and freights from point A to B.

 

The idea behind the car in-game is related to trucks, they're meant to pilot and escort truck convoys in TMP. They're also used by Game Moderators, I believe it was exclusive to them when it was first released in 2016, then the players could use it later. One car for this idea should suffice for that case, which is currently the Skoda Superb that we have. This mod is created by TMP itself, it has a detailed vehicle model with customizable parts. There's also an alternating vehicle that gets updated every month, and an exclusive one for patreons.

 

The Bluebus was added after TMP partnered with DBus World. I guess it is a pretty good addition for bus and transportation fans here, I do like it too.

 

Adding more vehicle mods to TMP simply isn't ideal, it defeats the point of a multiplayer trucking game. Additionally, there are various file sizes for each mod, and adding a bunch of them can cause issues.

 

I do kind of get your point, I always play as the Scout car in TMP and trucks in singleplayer, you may wish to drive any vehicle in-game. But again as I've mentioned, the game should not be modified too much that it's no longer a truck game.

I have examined your suggestion with great care. But unfortunately I can't agree with you because this game is a truck game and even the name has truck, so adding a bus would anger most players and wouldn't make sense.

How can you say it isn't ideal adding mods when you say bus mod addition was a good one?

 

Adding more mods doesn't defeat the point of a multiplayer and I don't understand how it could, it's not changing the gameplay, you still pick passagers like you would cargos and drive from A to B, just because it's not strictly considered a truck it's not allowed?

 

As said previously, these are good additions to an empty multiplayer, besides cd road and quarry, we have today, these additions are not modifying the gameplay it's still the same core and it will always be a trucking game, it's not like adding a mod to change the wheels by hand or fixing broken trucks in a shop.

I was actually driving the truck most of the time when the Dbus showed up at TMP. Didn't even notice the buses. This is Euro Truck Sim 2, not Euro Bus Sim 2, my friend.

Dunno why people are getting so mad about it being a TRUCK game… How many of you have actually driven the car? Literally If you don’t want to drive buses nobody is making you but i know if there was a better type of bus in game i’d probs drive it for a change and break from trucks. If you just ignore the fact its a truck game, and look at the decent graphics, map etc, ofc i see why some people want to drive more vehicles around!

Ets 2 may be a truck simulation game, but simulation games have a main vehicle and purpose. Ets is a game that bases its main vehicle and purpose on Trucks. However, other vehicles in traffic will increase the realism of the simulation. Since the bus mentioned in the suggestion is licensed, the same bus cannot be added to the game, but other or similar buses can be added to the game. These newly added vehicles will increase the reality of the simulation.

Eurotruck Simulator 2 is a truck game and I don't think we should add too many buses to the game because it would take away from the main focus of the game

Again as I've mentioned, buses are pretty much only good for bus and transportation fans from what I can see here. Since the bus has features such as delivering passengers and the Scout car having customizable parts and an ownable caravan, it should be more than acceptable for being implemented in a truck game, if you know what I mean. Adding more variety does not have that much purpose, people tend to use trucks more than buses or cars, since that's the main point of this game and TMP itself.

 

If you mean adding mods from the Workshop, it is not gonna be ideal due to the compatibility issues such as file sizes, and also when the game updates, the developers of the mods may not update it in time for TMP. If you're talking about the add-on team creating more vehicles, that is not ideal either, as I've mentioned previously, not that much people use the Scout car or the bus in general, so spending the time to create even more vehicles and implenenting features in them is definitely not easy for them. The pickup truck does indeed have "truck" in the name, but it still cannot carry huge cargo trailers that can weigh 20 tonnes and so.

 

So again, I don't use TMP for trucking, only in singleplayer. Most people here prefer trucks rather than other types of vehicles, so the vehicle selection that we have currently should be completely fine as it is, adding even more vehicles for each type of vehicle does not seem to have any real benefits.

We can't really say there will be compatibility issues because we are not developers of tmp and honestly this shouldn't be a thought on the suggestions, it is developers problem knowing how to and if it's possible now or in the future, if the same mindset stays, well we might never have AI Traffic in tmp because scs is always updating the code.

 

Since there's no AI Traffic, its refreshing to see something else, it is known that most will be using trucks so how will this ever reach a point where it's not about trucking?

 

TMP is not associated to scs so it should be able to add anything and expand the game, would that be adding trucks or anything else.

It would be nice. If the variety of vehicles that people can use increases, the number of people playing the game will also increase. If this bus is exclusive to Patreon members, the number of Patreon buyers will increase and the players will be happy. In short, both TruckersMP and the players will win.
