  1. So you want to drive fast to ... break? I agree that this seems pointless.
  2. The last time that the TruckersMP team had to face such a huge wave of complaints was when the they decided to reduce the maximum allowed speed from 180kph to 150kph. It was the direct consequence of the massive amount of accidents caused by players driving at excessive speed. With this new change the TruckersMP team listened to their community and successfully accommodated its needs. You can now drive as fast as you want without any restrictions or the fear of being punished. So tell me why do so many of you still complain...?
  3. Showing screenshots of the infamous C-D road as proof of slow traffic does not seem to be very convincing, as this area has always been plagued by high amounts of traffic with loads of traffic jams as result.
  4. Speed limits are not meant to prevent overtaking. For that case exist no-overtaking signs. Speed limits provide improved safety by applying a speed that is considered to be safe under favorable weather and visibility conditions. It increases the chances that a driver can react safely to unexpected events. Fact is at present, that the maximum speed limit has been reduced from 150kph to 110kph on the simulation servers.
  5. If you cannot ensure that during your entire overtaking maneuver no other road traffic participant is obstructed and/ or endangered, do not overtake. If you want to overtake but you cannot drive at a much higher speed than the one that you want to overtake, do not overtake. It is really as simple as this.
  6. I assume that you confused "assume" with "regard". 1. regard - to consider or have an opinion about something or someone 2. assume - to accept something to be true without question or proof And I regard you as being experienced enough. Talking about assumptions, you wrongly assumed that I expect every veteran driver to share my views and opinions. I do not expect that from any being. IMO, that would be completely absurd anyway. You (and everybody else) are perfectly entitled to not to agree to my views and opinions.
  7. Today marks the day that I wrote my 1000th post since I joined the forums. :)

  8. You correctly figured out that a speed limit will not reduce the number of bad drivers. However, a speed limit increases the chances of success of an evasive maneuver. Lower speeds equal less traveling distance in the same time, so speed limits eventually do matter. If you think that the speed limit is of no importance, why do you ask for one after all?
  9. I wonder how you come to this conclusion, as we have never met on the EU#2 server. Do you stalk me? You should not take other peoples views and opinions personally. Being a reckless driver/ troll is not the end of the world, and I believe that everybody can improve his/ her behavior. It is just a matter of time. And what is more: A hybrid arcade/ simulation experience is what we had on the EU#2 server. As a veteran that you are, I regard you as being experienced enough to understand that this kind of model did not work well at all. Unless of course you define the mayhem that it caused in certain areas as a milestone of success. Can we not just give the new models a try for some months before complaining and demanding changes?
  10. As I used to drive on the former EU#2 server, I thank you for the compliment!
  11. The reckless drivers and trolls reveal themselves by demanding to enable collisions on the arcade server. I am amused.
  12. Dear TruckersMP team, thank you for making this wise decision. This improvement is the long overdue and only logical consequence of the disastrous situation on your servers that was going on for already way too long. It takes courage to face the majority of your player base with a solution that will change deep-rooted behaviors. But in the long run, your courage will be rewarded! IMO it is an important step for the future of TruckersMP, and I wish for many more to come. You have my sincere thanks. Keep up the good work!
  13. Muito obrigado pelas suas dicas úteis!
  14. Neither you nor TruckersMP team members can force anybody to hand over his/ her video evidence. Furthermore it is very unlikely that the other road user involved in an incident voluntary provides evidence that will be used against him. If however you are reported by the other player and it turns out that the provided video evidence incriminates him, it can and will be used against him instead of against you.
  15. Basically, I agree to your suggestion as it would improve the way to report perpetrators. Unfortunately, from my experience the in-game report system is not efficient due to the high number of incoming reports. I have never had a single in-game report being taken care of in time.
  16. Frankly, I fail to understand why it would be important to prove the hacking of speed in particular. Hacking is generally a violation of the §2.1 game rule. If a player causes an accident by losing the control over his/ her vehicle due to excessive speed, he/ she meets the offence of reckless driving and will be punished accordingly. I doubt that in this case his/ her actual speed would matter, let alone speed hacking. The only situation I could imagine where the proof of speed hacking would be helpful is if two players race each other. But racing is considered to be a violation of game rule §2.5 (reckless driving)...
  17. What you just described is a situation of reckless driving. The other driver intentionally rammed you and blocked your way which is a clear violation of the in-game rules. If you have video proof of this incident, I suggest to report the perpetrator. Be careful though - "fighting him a little bit" can be used against you, too. If the other driver has video proof adn depending on how things happened, he could try to cut his footage so it looks like that you tried to ram him after overtaking.
  18. The crash.log file might give some idea about what is going on. Maybe you can post its content here and have the developers have a look at it.
  19. After the Racing Championship event in spring 2019, I was told that "...racing on public servers is certainly not the direction TruckersMP will be heading in the future". Has the TruckersMP team changed its mind since march? Maybe your plan is to let players to "put the pedal to the medal" in such specific events so they do not feel the need for speed on public roads. I fear however that this plan may backfire badly with players starting to race on public servers. And IMO, TruckersMP does not need more players driving at excessive speeds than it already has at present.
  20. Iberian Peninsula DLC

Based on my research, the Vive La France DLC is not necessary needed to reach the Iberian Peninsula.
    Here is why.

IRL, there exist at least two ferry connections from Spain to UK:

    Santander - Plymouth
    Bilbao - Portsmouth

      Addition:
As @MarkON correctly pointed out, there is also a ferry connection from Genova to Barcelona.

I have found another connection from Sardinia to Spain:

  21. You are at TruckersMP if...

... players start new topics about why it is not possible to log into multiplayer after a recent SCS release.

  22. Gebannt, weil es unerheblich ist ob er/ sie seiner sicher ist, da er/sie bereits gebannt wurde.
  23. Gebannt, weil sich der Grund deines Banns nur auf die Person über dir beziehen darf.
  24. That would at least locally defuse the situation on the route between Duisburg and Calais. But it might transfer the problem somewhere else...
  25. To be precise, parking per definition is not possible in ETS2. Why not? Because parking per definition requires the driver to have left the vehicle, which is not (yet) possible in ETS2. On a side note, leaving a vehicle does not mean to only exit it, but to not have it (and other traffic) in sight anymore. Additionally, in some countries parking is also standing for longer than 3 minutes. Now, what on earth is standing? Standing is defined as a stopped vehicle with the driver staying behind the steering wheel. And that is possible in ETS2. The downside of that definition IMO is that the TMP team is lacking numbers of members to control for how long a vehicle has been stopped to eventually enforce a teleport. So basically it is a good idea to fight lag in areas with a high volume of traffic, but difficult to enforce.
