  1. The story is complete as it was told. It is the simplified version of my call in an earlier post (which itself referred to @nicokay9's statement "You can drive as you please and to your own standards") and shows the consequences of what will happen if we'd follow his advise. However, I'm happy that you comprehended its content.
  2. @StateCA [NL], @_raffaele_ Since we obviously don't have the same educational level, I'm going to explain my post in a more simple way that you will hopefully understand. Once upon a time, there was an island in a land called Nowhere. The island was inhabited by countless different animals, but mostly by turtles and cheetahs. You have to know that turtles can swim very fast in the ocean but can only move very slowly on land. Cheetahs, on the other hand, can move very fast on land (up to 100 km/h), but are very slow swimmers. Every day, turtles and cheetahs met and walked together along a narrow path through a forest to the beach to see the beautiful blue ocean that surrounded the island. When others heard about the legendary beauty of the ocean, they also wanted to see it with their own eyes. So they joined the turtles and cheetahs on their daily way to the ocean. As you can imagine, after some time, the path became very crowded and was full of turtles and cheetahs. And that was a problem, because there soon was hardly enough room for the faster cheetahs to pass the slow-moving turtles. They were in fact so fast that they couldn't avoid bumping into and stepping on the turtles. The turtles didn't like that at all and asked the cheetahs to stop stepping on them. But the cheetahs didn't understand what the turtles were saying because they spoke another language. One day, the turtles had enough and asked the great council for help and advice. The great council was a group of elected wise animals, mostly curly-wurly owls, who lived on the top of a high mountain from where they could oversee the whole island. So the turtles raised their concern about the cheetahs stepping on them. And the great council decided that every cheetah who stepped on a turtle wasn't allowed to walk on any path of the island for a certain number of sunrises. Satisfied at being heard, the turtles returned from the mountain and continued to see the ocean. And so did the cheetahs. But they continued to bump against and stepped on the turtles. But now the turtles reported the cheetahs who stepped on them to the great council. First, there were only a few reports. But after a while, the great council received many more reports. In fact, there were so many that they couldn't process them fast enough anymore. Soon the top of the mountain and the great council were covered with a layer of reports. And as a result, the great council took a long time to sort out the cheetahs who stepped on turtles. That was good for the cheetahs, because they could continue to see the ocean until their report had been seen by the council. But it was bad for the turtles, who had to endure to be stepped on for longer.
  3. The number of created accounts doesn't reflect the number of active players. The latter are significant lower.
  4. I'm curious to know if the changes made to and around the road between Duisburg and Calais were content of the April Fools Day.
  5. Thank you for demonstrating how to completely misunderstand a post.
  6. I would allow to fail the test twice only, with a cool-down and training period of 1 month between each failed test. If one still hasn't understood the basic principles of maneuvering a vehicle under consideration of the road traffic regulations after that time, one clearly is not fit for it. But as @FernandoCR [ESP] correctly pointed out, a passed exam doesn't guarantee a continued well-behavior.
  7. If a player parks in areas that are not designated as parking areas and thus obstructs other road users, then he or she is guilty of blocking, which is violation of game rule §2.3 - Blocking*. I strongly advise against rewarding such misbehavior with map edits. It would rather be beneficial to teach players basic road traffic regulations.
  8. It seems only logical to straighten this road and make a drag race-like strip out of it, considering the fact that TruckersMP allows their players to drive at excessive speeds again. It's likely the TruckersMP' team's attempt to keep the number of accidents and reports down to a level that they can handle.
  9. Thanks for this important statement, @nicokay9. I hereby call all players who strive for realistic simulation to drive up and down the Road between Duisburg and Calais following all national road traffic rules and in-game rules. Let's see how long driving "as we please and to our own standards" will be accepted, how that goes for the "casual player," and how long it's going to take for the report system to overflow again.
  10. There is no harm in the desire to meet others. It's the fundamental idea of a multiplayer game. Nevertheless will it be Interesting to see if and how both groups, the one of simulation players and the one of racing players, will co-exist on the Simulation 2 server. Because that will eventually be the consequence of splitting the servers.
  11. How nice to see that the TruckersMP team stole copied my idea for the gas station and didn´t credit me. You´re welcome!
  12. Didn't your parents teach you any humility and respect? It would at least explain why you have four active bans on your account. I feel very sorry for you.
  13. This option has to reflect the national road traffic rules and regulations of its real world's counterpart. For example, a flashing green light exists in road traffic in Estonia, but not in Germany. More infos here at the European Commision - Going Abroad: https://ec.europa.eu/transport/road_safety/going_abroad/estonia/traffic_lights_en.htm
  14. Thank you for taking the time to respond. It is a paradoxical statement that the TruckersMP team promises to continue to support a "handful of players" when they have just given in to the majority's demand and buried Road to Simulation. Offering a soon-to-be empty server as consolodation patch is a nice but equally desperate gesture. We have to agree to the fact that the TruckersMP team's idea of realistic simulation is worlds, if not universes, apart from the idea of simulation fans. If you fail to control your vehicle and damage another person's property you are subject of receiving a punishment according to the game rules. Learn how to drive and take responsibilty of your actions instead of blaming others.
  15. Your questions unfortunately don't relate to the content of my post. I kindly ask to rephrase them. Passenger vehicles account for the largest share of vehicles in road traffic and should be considered in this way in a truck simulation for the sake of realism. However, if you want to see only trucks on the road, then your suggestion is the way to go. Nevertheless, the allegation remains unproven and doesn't become true by giving examples of the opposite. Be aware that it shows a lack of respect for the individual to lump everyone together.
  16. Can you explain in more detail how you think "a (relatively small) group of players that aim for true simulation c.q. realism; that is generally speaking also the group that advocates for lower speed limits [...]" "[...]want to make other users to play the game in the same fashion as them by force"? In your opinion, why do you think this group stays away from the infamous areas? How does the TruckersMP team define a "unique simulation environment," and how does it plan to improve the game experience for simulation fans, if at all? I don't expect you to answer those crucial questions, but I felt the need to ask them to understand where the TruckersMP team truly stands in regard to parts of their community.
  17. If any of the TruckersMP team members involved in this decision had considered the simulation aspect of Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator, we wouldn't need to listen to your excuses and attempts to smooth the waters now. Let's get the facts straight: This update aims solely to satisfy a strong desire among a significant share of our players, namely the irresponsible behavior of driving at excessive speed with hopefully spectacular collisions for the entertainment of a literally pitiful part of this community. I'm curious how you imagine a simulation fan is supposed to have anything close to a satisfying game experience with the current server configurations. Simulation 1 will be deserted due to the existence of an identical copy of the server (Simulation 4). Empty environment ---> unrealistic Simulation 4 will be full of "casual" players due to an (unrealistic) high speed limit. But the server will only be populated in the infamous areas; the rest of the map will be empty as well, with the exception of the occasional "casual" player overtaking at full speed ---> unrealistic. Arcade will be empty due to disabled collisions, ergo an empty environment ---> unrealistic. You hopefully see the obvious flaw in your decision and the missing support for the group of simulation fans. In light of the above, sending me, respectively, all players whose interests differ from the majority's interest in the thousands of kilometers of deserted roads is equally insensitive and tragic at the same time. I wish the TruckersMP team had one member who has the courage to simply state that they don't strive for the simulation aspect of the Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator anymore instead of insulting the intelligence of your supporters by creating a racetrack and calling it a traffic calm zone.
  18. This isn´t by far a new chapter for TruckersMP, as similar server configurations existed in the past. It´s therefore a back to the pre-Road To Simulation-era. Considering these new respectively old facts, Road to Simulation has come to an abrupt and violent end and, in retrospect, looks like a hoax at the expense of the simulation fans. The TruckersMP team didn´t listen to the community´s voice, but they capitulated to a bunch of screaming Need For Speed fans, who I am sure of will continued to be pampered in the future under the guise of the majority´s interest. For me, TruckersMP ended already years ago, caused by decisions I refused to bear and endure. Today, you´ve not only lost the interest but also the trust of longtime, loyal, and respected members of this community. I hope you had this in mind when you made your decisions.
  19. Warning: This post may be of ironic or cynical content and Readers discretion is advised. While we're at it, let's rework the road between Duisburg and Calais to a straight course and add 12 lanes for each direction of travel to remove any possible nuisances once and for all.
  20. The rear view camera shown in the screenshot does not allow one to see the distance between the vehicle and an obstacle due to its horizontal orientation. To be useful, its position needs to be higher and its angle needs to face more downwards. For the sake of safety and realism, I prefer and recommend that you G.O.A.L. (Go Out And Look) as often as necessary for safe maneuvering of the vehicle.
  21. I find it difficult to comprehend what benefit such a decision would bring to the community.
  22. I quite agree. The in-game report system in its actual state doesn't work efficiently due to the combination of a high number of sent reports, overworked game moderators, and a too short claim time. And if that wasn't already bad enough, players whose reports weren't claimed have to spend valuable time creating the same report again in the web report system. A direct connection between the in-game report system and the web report system is clearly missing here. In-game reports that weren't claimed in time should be saved as a draft in the web report system of the reporting player for later use.
  23. Second year in a row that Haulie lost track of Easter eggs. He seems to be a complete miscast of his position.
