  1. Isn't that what rest stops are for?
  2. In this context, the term "game" refers to TruckersMP services.
  3. The idea is to free up usernames of users, who were inactive for a certain period of time. If I met this requirement, my username could be used by someone else. But since I'm an active (forum) user, it doesn't apply to me.
  4. From my experience, the roads in Germany are in a worse condition than in Switzerland... Nevertheless, it's a welcome change to TruckersMP.
  5. The road between Duisburg and Calais road hasn't been rebuilt primarily because it has become an infamous part of the TruckersMP experience. It might be revamped in a future map update by SCS Software.
  6. It's caused by a combination of frequent train crossings and heavy traffic.
  7. It is true that the map offers more challenging and enjoyable roads than the road between Duisburg and Calais. Roads in Scandinavia or the winding paths through the Italian Alps, for example, can really test your skills with their sharp turns and steep climbs. These areas provide a great experience and beautiful scenery. Why the majority drives up and down the same road all day long stays a mystery to me.
  8. I completely agree. A realistic server could bring a whole new level of immersion to TruckersMP, allowing players who prefer a more authentic driving experience to fully enjoy the simulator.
  9. AI traffic should only spawn in deserted areas with a certain low player-number-to-area ratio. That would exclude populated areas in and around Duisburg and Calais and the like, and would avoid an additional negative performance impact.
  10. Adding AI traffic could create a more realistic environment, but it needs to be balanced to avoid congestion and ensure smooth gameplay.
  11. Have the physics of the Scout been improved as well?
  12. Last time I checked (which admittedly has been a long time ago), the speed limits of certain sections of the road between Duisburg and Calais were 50, 60 and 80 km/h. By driving within these limits, players reduce the risk of accidents, maintain control over their vehicles, and foster a more realistic and enjoyable simulation experience. Slow driving could only be regarded as blocking, if a player restricts "a user's travel path, blocking entrances to highways or other entry points or anything similar." (TruckersMP Game Only rules, §2.3 - Blocking). I can't imagine a situation in which slow driving fulfills the elements of reckless driving.
  13. I have stopped driving at TruckersMP many moons ago, and I don't create reports anymore.
  14. In Europe, the 4-way-stop intersection is generally uncommon, as roundabouts and priority-to-the-right rules are more prevalent for managing traffic. Implementing a 4-way-stop in the densely populated city of Duisburg in TruckersMP would likely lead to delays and potential confusion among drivers unaccustomed to this traffic control method.
  15. The idea of setting higher speed limits for passenger vehicles than trucks on TruckersMP presents both benefits and challenges. While it can enhance realism and improve traffic flow, it also poses safety risks and potential community divisions. Balancing realism with gameplay enjoyment and community cohesion is key to successfully implementing such changes. Ultimately, any adjustments should aim to enhance the overall simulation experience without compromising the core values of the TruckersMP community. I think the 110 km/h respectively 150 km/h server speed limits are a reasonable trade-off.
  16. Blocking is already a punishable violation of the game rules. But I applaud your suggestion to make the community aware of this issue.
  17. I wish all participants lots of fun!
  18. Long time no hear, fellow truckers!

    I hope you're doing well. 🙂

  20. Sure. And I like to use this forum to brainstorm and discuss possible (dis-)advantages and side effects of ideas. And that doesn't mean that the idea isn't good.
  21. I haven't tried it yet, but maybe you can use AutoHotkey. https://www.autohotkey.com/ The idea would be to execute several commands in one key bind. For example: The key C (or any other key or key combination you prefer) combines following commands: execute the key to open/ close the console in game write the command g_set_climate in the command line execute the key ENTER to confirm the command execute the key to open/ close the console in game Good luck!
  22. And a duration timer will shift the responsibility to avoid a collision to other players, won't it? Given the fact that players might have waited some time due to the blocking, it seems unlikely that they will be patient enough to consider a duration timer of the perpetrator. The timer countdown itself could even lead them to try their luck and pass the vehicle in Ghost Mode with too few time left, causing a collision.
  23. Basically, the idea to put a blocking vehicle into Ghost Mode is good, because it would enable other players to pass the obstruction. But it raises the question when to end the Ghost Mode. To avoid a collision, Ghost Mode mustn't be deactivated while other players are passing though the (blocking) vehicle. How about combining with the option to teleport the vehicle to a nearly workshop?
  24. If you can fix any vehicle damage with a command, it won't make players drive responsible.
  25. I support your suggestion, because the pictures and videos are outdated and give a wrong impression of the TruckersMP mod. But I suggest to equally advertise Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator.
