  1. Sounds to me like this group of people would are best suited for arcade style server and not simulation where stuff mentioned in above comments should/could be applied.
  2. Don't cry/complain about being banned if you drive like you don't care.

  3. TMP currently has, and typically had multiple servers in its history. Excluding event servers and pro-mods. What I do not understand is why the difference between the servers is negligible. Like right now, the main difference between Sim1 and 2 is the 110 vs 150 server speed limiter. And arcade is just one small step further and gives NCZ/ghost across the whole map and no speed restriction, although 150 is already almost where most trucks top out anyways. Why is it that we cannot get dedicated servers for each play style. One for dedicated hardcore sim, one for casual 'sim', and one for casual/arcade game play style. A lot of settings should be server side and not be changeable by the user on the sim server. Like not being able to disable traffic offenses, changing the speed limit display type (if driving truck, should be set to truck not car limit), handling should be preset - meaning people will actually have to choose something other than 4x2 and maxed stability to haul oversize/overweight loads as an example. People still have the option of speeding and driving like a bat outta hell, because "it's realistic and happens in real life", but having their handling also be more realistic, means this person will either have to drive more appropriately for the truck and cargo type or risk roll over and having to F7 alternatively they can switch to a more appropriate server for their game play style(win-win for everyone with the second option). Because there is a difference between picking up some speed and going somewhat above the truck limit in like a straight, highway setting, and having throttle pegged down driving at the server speed limit to get from point a to b as fast as you can regardless of the road conditions or type of road. Like being overtaken on a road full of twists and turns by someone running a triple full of logs or some oversize/overweight cargo because they have maxed stability and going highway speed or server limit - is not something that adds to the 'realism'. If you are like myself you are lucky to escape with just some horn+ light spam and maybe some choice words in chat. But usually you will be put into a wall as the person speeding also has 0 awareness of their size nor length. I feel like this argument has existed forever. But that is the thing, it is not like there is only 1 server. 3 main servers all with server side configurations that match the play style they are promoting. So as mentioned, one for hardcore sim players, one for arcade, and one for casual sim - which is where a lot of players seem to get defensive. IMO a good bit of players' definition of realism is just having traffic lights on in populated areas and having collisions enabled outside of POI locations - service shops, companies, etc. So by having 3 different servers configured to actually match the 3 different play styles, people would actually have a proper place to go for their desired play style. As opposed to now, where majority just default to Sim1 because that is where most are and the other servers are just not really different enough for anyone to bother switching to. Simulation style is not desired by the casual crowd, casual style not desired by the simulation crowd. Like ffs, all these servers and available capacity yet everyone acts like there is 1 server and argues over which limited server config should be preset on it. Oh well, like many before me, it falls on deaf ears.
  4. Just server side configurations for everyone in general. As in, on the Sim1 server, everyone should have forced realism settings. Arcade can be optional or just not at all restricted, while Sim 2 could be lenient server where it is more restrictive than arcade but not full hardcore sim like SIM1 for example. Or the other way around, SIM 1 be an arcade/sim hybrid and SIM 2 be the dedicated hardcore sim. Until you force people's configs, you will just keep having the same issues where some are racing on SIM 1, because they can, and the others are trying to either hardcore sim or somewhere between hardcore and just plain arcade driving. Those of us who sim always have to deal with impatience and stupidity because of the people who play arcade-like on the sim servers. Especially going through sharp curves/bends. God forbid you slow down so you don't flip and someone who has maxed stability is behind you. I can't believe this hasn't been done yet. Clearly it can be done since some settings are already forced if you join TMP servers.
  5. Yeah, this. It's impossible to actually fully sim any of the servers. Especially the main SIM server, which ironically, is mostly a combo of race trucks or save edited garbage that looks terrible and just causes lag because they need 1,000,000,000 attachments, especially lights, beacons, and horns. I wish they would introduce server side configs. That way at least everyone is running the same settings and not running into issues where one player is on full blown hardcore sim settings, while the other might have maxed stability, braking intensity, etc. Also change the defaults - make either SIM 2 or Arcade the main/default server and have people that actually want the full experience, manually pick the server, instead of being grouped with people just clicking through all the menus (similar to how people click through installers without reading and just selecting 'next'). All these people all the time claiming on forums that they want full sim experience, yet it is quite rare that I actually find someone on the server doing this. Contrary to the server config surveys. It seems majority of the player base doesn't actually want "full sim" experience, or completely lack the understanding of what that means based on how they actually play. People need to understand that "collisions enabled" is NOT the only thing that makes it a hardcore/realism based simulation set up. I come back to TMP from time to time to see the stuff that they changed. The changes are nice and welcome. The player base on the other hand, I have nothing nice to say really. Would be nice if people would actually take responsibility and not just 'sorry bro' and continue driving like an asshat, which to me, is a clear indication they aren't sorry, have not learned anything, and are bound to repeat the same mistake again/cause the same type of accident. I only file about 30% of my collisions, as I feel bad for the TMP staff dealing with a constant overflow of reports, and even that, I feel like I am spamming them with reports. This has been my longest run before returning to single player, it's easier to deal with AI being stupid, than it is actual players. It's a shame.
  6. Introducing NCZ there without any rework (which has been endlessly debated it seems lol) would just introduce another set of problems. Letting more people in just because ghost/NCZ while only a few are able to leave at a time would just create issues at the "invisible" border. Think of Calais service station, or just anywhere there during active hours. The issue stems from things like: There just being too many vehicles - exceeding the capacity of road, and in this instance, the fuel (petrol) station. People who do not plan ahead and only think about fuel when the 'low fuel' light turns on and/or route advisor starts yelling at them.* And can't forget the people that like to cause chaos, well, doing just that. Causing chaos. People go to this area for "traffic", no? With players around, especially during peak hours, it is bound to create traffic. Everyone knows it's a mess there specifically(C-D), yet significant amount of players get 'Surprise Pikachu face' when they arrive. And some as far as rage. As the typical response goes, if you don't want the traffic, enjoy the other 99.95% of the map. DLC or not. Spamming in chat, flashing high beams or using the horn non stop will not make anyone go faster. Turn the radio on, sit back, enjoy the scenery and watch other people being stupid. My recommendation though, be the party observing - and not the ones being stupid. *Most people run 4x2 trucks or 8x4, meaning large fuel capacity. The 6x configs have decent tanks as well. Only the certain Man trucks have that 400l fuel tank, but simply planning ahead would do wonders.
  7. Hello all, I was hoping to get some input from fellow TMP members. I know it is a bit of a dated game engine and it is not made to fully utilize high core/thread CPU, so I was wondering if it is beneficial to disable hyper threading? Anyone else using AMD Ryzens, have you tested this in high population areas? Not really looking for peak FPS numbers. Interested in how the overall frame latency and low 1% and 0.1% frames (noticeable as stutter) was with HT on and off?
  8. Just like in real life, adding more lanes almost never actually helps or has the desired effect. Poor driving will still be present and cause accidents that will lead to congestion/slow downs - especially during peak hours.
  9. I like this event, props to the whole team for the hard work they have done and are doing. Huge thank you. To ones who don't like the event because of traffic, that area is always full of traffic anyways. If you go there during peak hours, that was your decision. There is Sim 2 and arcade available to those who - don't care about simulation, ignore truck speed limits, have maxed stability and/or braking, want to drive at the server speed limits, complain about "slow" traffic. Sim1 is for people who want the sim experience. It would make it a better experience for everyone if people actually chose the appropriate server for their game play style. **If you are angry/annoyed/what ever that you can't drive like a bat out of hell, you are on the wrong server.**
  10. Even if you are able to find another 8GB DIMM, you would be way better off even with only 16GBs RAM. Simply because you would be running dual channel mode. The recommended is obviously to try and get same/similar DIMM to the one you have now. But you can mix and match if you have a BIOS that allows you to adjust RAM timings and have a little patience to find the optimal settings. Finding a speed and timings that work on both modules will give you pretty good stability but won't be perfect. The biggest issue right now is your RAM (bandwidth) bottleneck as modern tech and software are better optimized in utilizing multichannel RAM. If you do get another memory module your next big bottleneck that is directly linked will be that the game is on a hard drive and not solid state. The stuttering is caused by it having to load stuff from the slower storage. Increasing buffer sizes in configs/launch options will help a bit (especially after you get more RAM) in super crowded areas but as the game engine wasn't originally designed to handle 100+ players with most running every accessory slot filled with add ons. That all has be loaded on demand. Hence stutter. I don't know you nor your financial situation but I did see you point out it is expensive. Best bet is just trying to optimize what you have now and make compromise on graphics, amount of add-ons in/on truck, etc. Until you are able to get the upgrades for your PC. Maybe you'll find some sale online or buying 2nd hand, if you are ok with that. I know it isn't the answer you were probably looking for, but I hope this helps somewhat as the rest of your specs are actually very good and should result in smooth game play.
  11. Thanks for the first follow!

      Super driver.

You're welcome. Happy New Year to you

  12. My favorite right now is the Renault T Evo. I like the gauge cluster. Everything I want to see is there on the analog gauges(Fuel level, brake press, tach, etc) Digital speedometer is centered and big/easy to see, with cruise control being next to it if used. Digital HUD portion providing even further details. eg fuel consumption, Litres remaining, etc. The other big thing for me is if you use the "standard evolution" (*1) you can either have nothing, phone, or tablet in that spot. I LOVE the tablet. Size can be subjective for some. However, for me, I hate using route advisor. So the tablet provides a decent screen size. The scaling of the map on it itself is actually good, especially compared to some other models where the map looks weird. The other major thing is when you cycle zoom modes on the map I find this one to have one of the best position curser placements. It is always centered so you can actually tell what is around regardless of which direction you are going. Like in the Man,New Scania, and I think even new DAF suffers from this, if you use the 3rd map setting, usually one click after the default view if that makes sense, unless you are going north I find the GPS to not show enough of the map. ESPECIALLY if going south. You barely see anything because the cursor remains by the bottom. So you get to see everything above you on the map but not what is actually coming up infront as you drive. I pretty much exclusively play TMP. And that is a deal breaker because I usually do the more challenging loads and coming up on a 'surprise' around a corner with 45+T is not what I call great. Yes the T maxes out at 520HP, but did you see the trans? For a while I did 18-26t cargo, pretty much any of the heavier stuff that fits on flatbeds. Used the 12 gear direct drive box as preferred box. I tried 12 O/D but didn't like it. Now I use the 12+2 box with the heavy stuff and haven't looked back. I can't remember the specs off my head but I think like 32.04-0.79? With 3.42 rears or something like that. 80km/h is like 1100-1150. If you are one of 'those' people and drive pegged at the server limit, 110 is 1450-1500. This is the longest truck I ever kept across all profiles I ever started on ets2. I was stuck on Man before this for a while. But I have this really weird personal issue, where the truck sound combined with my headset makes me drowsy and literally fall asleep. The low tone of the V8 man has cruising on the highway apparently gets me bad. Have actually fallen asleep playing lol. Before then I was into Scania. Even recently tried it again. But I just can't. I want to like it. I really do. Exterior styling is nice. The premium dash is nice, though the basic one isn't bad either. But that is about it. I do not like the sound of jake brake on the V8. Especially compared to the Ren T (or at least with my sound slider settings). The other main issue for me are the trans options. I don't know if it is just me and getting used to how my Ren T runs but I tried the 730hp Scania with the regular 12 DD, it seemed ok for the mediumish loads that I do on flatbeds. The 12+2 tops out incredibly early though not as bad as the Mercs. Sure might be good for heavy stuff as you won't be speeding anyways...or shouldn't be. But Like that trans spec for the 12+2 starts at like 13 something. Paired with the rears, I was not impressed at all. Like if you look at Volvo( which the Renault essentially gets the trans from) they also can give you 700-750hp AND a 12+2 box with 32.04 or what ever C1. With a good final drive too so you aren't redling it on highway as you bobtail to your next destination when you don't need to be doing 50-60 km/h. TL:DR I tried them all, and still try the Scania and Volvo from time to time. My favorite one I keep coming back to while selling rest or giving to bot drivers is the Renault T (Evo).
