Using a wheel (G920)

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

First main post. Does anyone have any thoughts/tips on using a wheel for ETS2? I have been using the G920 since Christmas and I must say it has been a worthwhile upgrade. The only issue I have is that the brake pedal is not sensitive enough and therefore causes me to press ultra-hard to get myself to brake.

For the brake pedal issue, I suggest you to use the clutch as the brake pedal if you don't use a h-shifter.

Yeah, I use the H-Shifter. I have made the sensitivity of it as high as I can.

I use the G920 myself. It was a major upgrade for me as well. I went from using a controller to looking into a steering wheel. I have been using the wheel for nearly 3 years and I love it. My only real complaint was with the rubber piece inside the spring in the brake.

My only tip would be, if you haven’t, remove the rubber piece in the brake. It definitely feels better and helps with braking. There’s a decent amount of tutorials on how to remove it.

Thank you, I will look into this.

No, the pedals are the same on both versions. The only difference I can think of is that the G920 has less buttons and is meant for Xbox and pc. G29: more buttons and meant for PS4 and pc too.

Over time your pedals will become less stiff and easier to use

The brake pedal on my G27 is pretty much the same as my gas pedal now, after 4 years.

Ok that's good. While using my pc normally, I'll just casually keep pressing the brake pedal XD that should speed it up

I have a G29 with the same pedals. Personally I like the rubber piece that's inside it, but it took some getting used to. With the proper brake intensity setting in the game (which I think @Doç.Dr. Ali Çelik referred to) it works just fine. The rubber only interferes when you have to press the pedal down all the way. During normal driving this rarely happens, but for an emergency stop, it does feel slightly more realistic to have some extra resistance. Pedals with force feedback would be better for realism, though.

I suggest you first try a higher braking intensity setting in the game, before removing the rubber piece.

Ok, thank you this is useful. As soon as I get home I will try this.

i have a G27, still i set my brake to low still dont have alot of precision but it helps not brake to hard to lose all speed

I took the G27 before taking the G29, and then I noticed that there was a calibration problem at the steering wheel. I recommend you to buy G29

I'm using a quite old Logi DFGT, and I fixed the brake sens with a triangle of foam :P.

There are a lot of YT guides on how to fix yours, it won't be foam-easy but you'll get it done. Apparently it is quite common.
