Shouldn't:

" - Reduced the max number of web-report slots to 10"

have been included in this update? Or was it implemented on another day?

Any update on the reduction of slots when a report is declined?

Would be great to have some explanation regarding the rationale behind this decision which obviously restricts even more the capacity to punish bad players.

EDIT: just found out via PM that there will be a community blog post about some changes (including that one) soon to explain the reasoning behind it. To be continued...

No, as the limit was set few days after the changelog was posted and the change itself didn't require a website update.

Thanks for the explanation. How about the reduction of slots when a report is declined? Is that still active? Or was it enhanced as well? Is it still minus 5 as soon as 1 report is declined?

The ratio has been changed to 1:1. It means, one declined reports equals one slot less, one accepted report equals one slot more (max up to 10). But keep in mind that sometimes the report may be rated as „neutral”. In that case, the report will still be declined or accepted, but the score (number of slots) won’t be affected.

What is the rationale behind the first change? Is this a mandatory anonymity for every moderator or can moderators optionally reveal their name?

I have the same question and like to add that anonymized actions create the impression that moderators don't need to take responsibility for their actions anymore.

It also raises the question how complaints against a moderator can be taken if his actions are anonymized.

I hope that a more detailed explanation will be published  shortly.

You don't have the right to complain against moderators or other staff members, for a power abusive against others.

Besides, you don't need a staff member's name to report him/her.

For complaints related to your own profile, e.g. reports, only the report link is sufficient.

Thank you, but I know that and it wasn't what my question was aiming at.

Which means that a direct complaint against a moderator is made difficult to impossible by his anonymization.

Let's wait until further information are published.

Managers can still see the moderator who dealt with the report / appeal / issued a ban etc. With that being said, moderators still take responsibility for everything they do. Nothing has changed in this regard.

In case of complains all you need to do is grab a link to the report / appeal and open a feedback ticket (It's always been like this).

I've an idea about that as you mentioned above, that "moderators can optionally reveal their own ID."

I think this should be added as an option, moderators should be able to hide their name "just like punishment history" or turn on it public.

In addition, the username of the moderator who issued the ban on any profile should can turn on it public at his or her discretion.

Thanks for the new updates. Of particular interest to me is that the moderator responsible for reporting is now anonymous, which I agree with as some people troll the moderators assigned to them in the comments on their Steam profiles. Moderators are volunteers and  iwant them to work in as stress-free an environment as possible. I wish you all the best in your work!
