Heya! In this guide, you’ll learn how to properly record gameplay, file effective reports, and discover the best tools and websites to make the process quick and efficient. Whether you're a seasoned player or a newcomer, this tutorial will ensure you're prepared! Chapter 1 - Software for Ingame-Recording [EASY] Via Steam Game Recording 1. Open Steam, click the Steam icon on the top left corner 2. Find your way to "Game Recording" 3. Select "Record in Background" 4. Head to "Save the last xxx seconds of gameplay as a clip" -> I recommend saving the last 180 seconds (3 minutes). You can Click the "Set..." and choose a KEYBIND to save the last 180 seconds. (For Example, if you press "ALT+2", the clip will be saved) 5. Scroll down to "Recordings Folder" and choose a folder where the clip will be saved at. If you do not have a folder you like, simply create one. 6. You are ready to record! Launch TruckersMP and test it. Press the buttons you assigned (ALT+2). After that, head on over to the folder and check the recording. Whenever something happens, press your Hotkey to save the video. [EASY] Via Medal.TV 1. Visit this site https://medal.tv/ and download the program. Once installed, register yourself. 2. There will be a Setup. You can choose a username. 3. Next step is to configurate the recorder. You will be asked how do you wish to record. 4. In this menu, select "Clipping Games" and choose the duration you like. I recommend setting it to 3 Minutes. 5. Select a Storage Limit, depending on your free disk space. 6. Next, select a resolution, but minimum "Standart/720p". 7. Choose if you like to use your Mic and Audio. 8. You will be asked to Set up your Hotkey. Select any Key you want (For Example, if you press "ALT+2", the clip will be saved) 9. Done! You can now launch TruckersMP and play. Once something happens, just press your assigned key and the Clip will be saved to your Medal Dashboard. [Medium] Via Nvidia Experience Overlay. - Note: This will only work if you got a Nvidia Graphics Card 1. Install the Nvidia App and register -> https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/software/nvidia-app/ 2. Once opened, head to "Settings" and enable the "NVIDIA Overlay" 3. Now, press ALT + Z in order to open the overlay and press Settings in the Overlay 4. Click "Instant Replay" and "Configure video capture" 5. Select the length you want it to be, for example, I'm using 3 Minutes 6. Go back to the Start of the Overlay and press Settings once again 7. Navigate to "Shortcut controls" 8. Search for "Save last x minutes recorded" and set a keybind to your liking. (For Example, ALT + F2) 9. Go back to settings and search for "Files and disk space", click it once found 10. You can set a folder where you want your recording to be by just simply clicking "Gallery location" 11. Last but not least, head back to the Start and enable "Instant Replay" 12. You are ready to record! Launch TruckersMP and test it. Press the buttons you assigned (ALT+2). After that, head on over to the folder and check the recording. Whenever something happens, press your Hotkey to save the video. [Hard] Via OBS Software There is to pretty much to setup, I recommend Tutorials on YouTube. This one is pretty useful -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7FBPbaBw8U Chapter 2 - Important Things to know in order to be able to Report someone TruckersMP IDs -> Make sure you have TruckersMP IDs enabled. This will help you to find the person. How to enable it? 1. Press TAB to open the Tab-Menu 2. Right Click and click the settings icon 3. Head on over to "Interface" 4. Scroll down and find "Show player's TruckersMP ID". Enable it, if not already. Then press "Apply" and close the TAB menu -> Website Reporting Guidelines Make sure you are familiar with TruckersMP rules and the reporting rules. https://truckersmp.com/rules https://truckersmp.com/knowledge-base/article/8 https://truckersmp.com/knowledge-base/article/10 -> Important Reporting Rules The Evidence cannot be older than 7 days. Evidence must be available for at least 3 months. Except Reports for §2.1 and §3, they must remain permanently. Videos over 3min must contain a timestamp stated in the report, but they need to be at least 5 seconds long. You are only allowed to use your own recordings. They need to be uploaded to a site with an onboard streaming feature, no download. They must be uncropped, cannot be retouched or blurred. Videos need to be in a decent quality, so admins can easily recognise the names and IDs. Keep in mind you must follow the TruckersMP rules aswell. It's possible that you will also be banned from your own report (for example, if you speed up to prevent an overtake). Fill in the necessary information, and shortly explain what happened in the description. Also place the Evidence Link into the description. Please note: These are only a few of the rules. Check this article to get a full overview: https://truckersmp.com/knowledge-base/article/10 Chapter 3 - How to edit your Video The best and easiest way to edit a Video is by using the default Windows "Films & TV" app. Just open the video file and click the small "pen" icon, then crop video. You can now crop it by your liking. -> You can use other Apps aswell, for example CapCut for PC,... Chapter 4 - Choosing a good Site to upload Videos/Evidence Video Evidence -> Best way to go is https://www.youtube.com/, simply upload a video there. It is recommended to set it to "not listed" and to disable comments, but not necessary. -> Another good site is https://streamable.com/, but you need to make sure your videos stay there for at least 3 months. -> Another way is https://vimeo.com/features/online-video-hosting Screenshots -> Best way to go is https://imgur.com/ or https://imgbb.com Chapter 5 - Q&A Q: I've created a report, how long will it take for it to be processed? A: Depending on the load on the web report system, it can take a few days or less. Q: I can only create 10 reports, why? A: This is because the Game Moderation Team is being asked to rate the quality of the reports. This is being used to help get rid of the majority of useless reports that currently come through the system. Q: My Report score went down by 2, now I can only create 8 reports. (Or less) A: (Regularly) submitting reports that are not of high quality may lead to you being able to report less and eventually not at all. If the GMT decides your report is "useless", you will be able to create 2 less reports. Q: Is it possible for my Report Score to go up? A: Yes, in most cases they go up by 1 if the report is of high quality and it's not on popular routes like C-D, Kirkenes,... Once some of your reports have gained positive points from a Moderator, you will have a higher report limit. Q: Is there any other Frequently Asked Questions for me to take a look? A: Absolutley, check it here: https://truckersmp.com/knowledge-base/article/10 That's it for now, I hope this helps! Do you enjoy my content? Feel free to leave a comment Best regards, Leon

Hi there, I know when I was new it took me a while to get find this out so I hope this helps people... ------------------------------------------Key Bindings specific to multiplayer----------------------------------------------- Open Chat = 'Y' Toggle Chat = 'F9' Toggle Name Tags = 'F11' Show Nearby players list = 'Tab' Push-to-Talk = 'V' Changed to 'X' now if you have the most current version *to use the mouse whilst the tab menu is open right click* -----------------------------------------Using the Tab Menu--------------------------------------- To open or close just press the tab button. When you open the tab menu you see a list of the players that are near by. Along the bottom there is a cog, this is the setting button. You can click on here and it brings lots of options. For example here you can set your unique player tag and the colour of it. There is also lots of options that are specific to the Multiplayer function of the game. *Note Player Tags Remain across game sessions* Any changes that are made on the settings menu must be completed by you clicking the apply button then the 'Ok' Button. When setting a Player Tag you are not permitted to set it to something that implies you are a member of staff, e.g. Admin or Police etc. This may result in In-Game-Moderators taking action how they see fit. The rules say: Impersonating Administration - Ban It is forbidden to impersonate administration or act as law enforcement such as police. This includes tags, username, paintjobs, lights, etc that would indicate you are behaving as an administrator. ------------------------------Near by Players list-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the main feature on the Tab menu. There is lots of information displayed on this page. From left to right the information is: ID Number specific to that gaming session (it is assigned as the number of player from the slots available on the server) | The Player's Username | The players ping | The Players distance from you | --------------------------------Functions on the Players list---------------------------------------------------------------------------- To open a players profile: simply click on their name You then have the option along the bottom of the window to either open their steam or truckers profile To Report a player: Click on their name At the bottom a button labelled 'Report' appears. Click it Select the reason and submit it. Reports must be legitimate and should not be made out of revenge. If the case is serious you may wish to take your own evidence. The Rules Say: Chat and Report Spamming - Kick / Ban Spamming the use of commands both to other users and commands as a whole or anything similar. ---------------------------------------------Using Voice Chat------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Multiplayer function allows players to communicate in-game using the voice chat function. This works on a push to talk basis by pressing the 'V' key. For the duration the key is pressed your voice is transmitted. This will transmit your voice onto people who are on the same CB radio frequency as you and who are near by. To change your radio frequency, in first person locate your radio stack. In trucks it is generally above your head, in cars it's on your dash board. To change the frequency look enable your mouse by pressing 'Tab' then 'Right Clicking' Click on the stack around the place where the largest knob is. It might take a few attempts. This will cycle through the available frequencies you can broadcast on. As with the in-game test chat there is rules to follow. No spamming, use of profanity or playing of music. This may result in a ban by an in-game moderator. ------------------Using Text Chat--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To open the chat just press 'Y' Then a chat window appears on the left of your screen. Simply type and your message will be entered. Then Press 'Enter' to send your message. This message is sent to anyone Spamming in chat is against the game rules To send a Private Message (PM) Open the chat window as normal by pressing 'Y'. then type '/pm' (don't input the inverted commas) Then press 'space' and enter the ID code of the player you wish to PM. (The ID code is shown as the number above the players truck or the number on the left in the Tab Menu.) Then press space again and type your message. To send press 'Enter' If you did this process wrong then a red message is displayed. All Personal messages are in white. Example of a personal message: /pm 1234 I learnt how to do this on TruckersMP Forum Please remember that all chat messages must follow the rules set forward by the moderators, swearing at and insulting players is not tolerated, at any degree, and is a banable offence. Taking from the rules: Profanity - Kick / Ban Swearing or using any words that may be deemed inappropriate or anything similar. Insulting Users / Insulting Administration - Temporary / Permanent Ban Swearing or using any words that may be deemed inappropriate towards other users or administration or anything similar. -------------------------------------------------------------Ending------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I hope this helps all new users to get on their way towards integrating into the Multiplayer community much quicker and easier. If you have any questions or require further help, please contact me and we will see if we can get the issue resolved. Thank you, Miles For a full list of rules follow this link: http://truckersmp.com/en_US/rules

Hello guys, recently I have experienced that Players crash into someone and Instantly disappear. This gives the player no chance / time to get the TMP ID. Suggestion Name: Stop Combat disconnecting Suggestion Description: With Combat disconnecting I mean instantly disconnecting after an accident / collision. Adding a few seconds to block disconnecting after a collision gives a player enough time to get the 4-Digit ID. Any example images: In this Video you can see how the guy who rammed me just disappeared. Yes I was chatting but in other situations I wasn't and I still didn't see the guy who rammed me Why should it be added?: It will give a chance to get the TMP ID to report a player.

Suggestion Name: Adding additional controls to report (a) player(s) Suggestion Description: Adding in another way to report players while on the move, multiple times when i'm late for a delivery, or no where safe to stop and the driver is VERY bad, we need to report them, this causes accidents when moving for those with Mouse Steering, There should be an additional way to report them using commands (Different keys) on the keyboard, where we can drive safely and use the keyboard to navigate the menu for reporting a player. Any example images: (N/A) Why should it be added?: I think it should be added because the amount of trolls that cause accidents, and get away with it due to players using Mouse steering and not able to stop somewhere safely before the player get's too far and dis appear, the player reporting them can have an accident because when we right click to go onto the menu, those with Mouse Steering will most likely crash, and cause another accident. By adding this, it will drop the amount of Mouse Steering players from crashing when reporting a player when moving due to no safe place to stop. Have a nice day

Hey, when creating a report it now says that "Please provide all evidence, including /pinfo or similar". What does this mean exactly, like how does it differ to earlier reporting? Is it a must that /pinfo is visible on that video? Sometimes it is hard to see the number when something happens.

I've noticed my ingame reports are usually being rejected while my website reports with video footage are mostly getting accepted. I have seen videos on YouTube where game moderators are capable of replaying sessions over and over for decent evaluations. My question is: When does recording the session after reporting a player actually start? The moment it gets reported or is everyone already being recorded beforehand? The former would explain why my ingame reports are mostly getting rejected because the recorded sessios don't show what happened before.

Suggestion Name: Adding another report option in tab Suggestion Description: When you report people in tab, you get the following options to report them for; Blocking | Ramming | Griefing | Insulting | Cheating | Other. My suggestion is to add another one called CB which indicates that the reported one is doing the reported action in CB, so the admins know when to listen there. I know there is an option called Other, but that can be pretty much everything, like overtaking at EP, wrong way etc. But if the CB option gets added, admins will get more focused on what's being said, than just looking at what is happening on the screen. But I want to say that I don't suggest this because I mean the admins are not good enough, I just think it will be easier for them. Any example images: Nope Why should it be added?: It will get more clear if the offence is in CB or not.

I have 3 suggestions to improve the system: Suggestion 1: Static Player IDs At the current time, we have a system with player IDs (from what I assume) are assigned on the server by which player slot they fill. I suggest that each player is assigned a static ID. I have no images. This is because static IDs allow someone to be reported easier if they leave fast, and allow fast player identification. Suggestion 2: Report any player based on their static ID Right now, we have to select a player to then report them, but this presents issues, when, for example, they ram you and leaves fast. I would suggest a report button to be in the bottom right of the tab menu all the time, and when clicked, you have to type the player ID. I have no images. This is for a reason listed above, when, as an example, a player rams you and leaves straight after. I would like to note that this would integrate well within a Static Player ID system. Suggestion 3: A micspam reporting option and/or a text box instead of "other" When you report a player, the choices are limited. I suggest a 'micspam' checkbox is added, and also other, when selected, should open a text box below, allowing things to be written in more detail, "Player #1337 abused an out of bounds exploit". I have no images. Adding this would allow a more comprehensive system for reporting, since 'other' is unnecessarily vague. Also at Felixstowe, by the maintenance thing, there is a way to get out of the map by using the terrain as a small ramp around the side of the player blocker. It is useless, but if you need detail on it, ask me (on steam, preferably).

Suggestion Name: Show ban duration in an accepted report Suggestion Description: Add a new line that shows the date when the reported player gets unbanned. Any example images: Why should it be added?: It is much easier and faster to see how long a player has been banned because you don't need to visit the perpetrators profile first.

name: see above description: having the ability to take screeshots while moving so that you can report people ramming you if you don't have recording software (eg. low spec pcs) reason: people can be able to report rammers as they ran you, seeing as you took a screenshot , this would help those with low spec pcs if they dont have recording software images: no

Hi, Is the new reporting system(in-game) actually being used by admins? Just curious.. Below is the update log by mwl4(highlighted). As per my understanding, a demo is stored on server, 2 mins backwards from the time of reporting? Is it correct? The reason I'm asking is, I got rammed by a player while overtaking him on a highway. He intentionally did it, so reported him immediately. He was still ahead of me after I reported, and he was driving at like 40 kmph. So, I tried to overtake him and again he rammed me. I report him again. He does the same 3rd time, but this time, his truck does not start and hence I go ahead with my cargo delivery. However, after sometime, I get a chat notification like "[System] No action was taken against player wikgames (634, TruckerMPID:1385959). [22:12:34] [System] If you feel this to be incorrect, please submit a report on our website." I thought the server kept demos while creating report in-game. So, I was not recording and have no evidence as such. Am I missing something about below update? Hello! New version 0.2.1.9.0 has been released. Changelog: New report system * Added encountered players in scoreboard (last 1 minute) * New report system implements demo system. This means that every players movements are recorded for 2 minutes in back (even if player leaves, the movements are still saved). While creating a report the game server creates a demo using stored movements (also other data is processed) and saves them in the report for certain time. From this moment consider using report system in game rather than web reports. Thanks in advance!!

Hi, Is there a way to find players who weren't letting me overtake them and were driving in the middle of the road. I tried to overtake and one of them and they pit manoeuvred my trailer which caused me to turn over my side. I took two screenshots of their username and the incident. However, I fear that the two screenshots will not be enough evidence to get them punished because the screenshots aren't good proof of them doing it. (It has happened to me before.) I have plans to track them and record their behaviour so the report won't be denied. I already have their TruckersMP ID. I hope have I have plans to do is not illegal. Thanks (I tried to upload the images but they surpass the maximum upload size.)

When I press 'TAB' my mouse doesn't come up and when I move it, it's just like if I was moving the Persons view around(to see left or right). How do I overcome this issue?

Hello all, I have had issues with the reporting system. Every time I hover my mouse over the list of players around me, the mouse pales out. Can someone help me?

Hey guys, here is a short question: Are the spawn-times from the "spawn-log" (documents-folder) set to UTC-time? (utc-0) I ask, because i live in germany - and if this times are sticked to my system-time i have to consider that when reporting. Thanks in advance, __________ Futju

I have problem with a user that was banned since I report him and the user left a comment with an insult in the video evidence and when I try to report him the system tells me that I can not report the player because it is already banned, what do I do then?

Suggestion Name: Make ingame reporting system actually useful Suggestion Description: If multiple players(atleast 6?) report a troll for the same reason during a certain time interval(lets say 3-5 minutes), then the system should ban the perpetrator immediately for 3 days! and if there has been some error in understanding the situation/problem, then the Troll needs to go on a website and give its own view of the situation. And if there has been a misunderstanding, then the ban will be removed. Plus, the situation with the perpetrators name has to be publicly visible to everyone, so everyone can go on that site(finding via the players name or ID) and add their own evidence and views of the situation etc... Current bad situation: At the moment there is this ingame reporting system that actually takes really hard effort to use and to even spot the correct trolls name and ID etc, but if the report needs a video evidence anyway, then why is this quite useless reporting system even 'available'? So at the moment it's like a perfect heaven for the trolls to annoy other players, who actually want to drive, not report trolls all the time. So - instead of the normal players having to provide "evidence" all the time(which takes A LOT of time and energy), it MUST be the trolls who need to provide evidence that they havent done anything wrong! Any example images: No. Why should it be added?: If multiple players report the same troll during a certain time, it would obviously be enough evidence for a ban. And if this system gets abused, then everyone involved with the abuse could be banned instead! The main goal has to be peaceful driving, not caring and nurturing for the annoying trolls!

HI, Is it a requirement to have the pinfo when reporting people or is their usernames enough? Thanks!
-
I have made 2 reports in the last month and none have been answered yet, just curious as the last couple I made were done and dusted within 3-5 days/week at the most. If the admins are busy then that is understandable, but I need a couple idiots off the road Thanks!

Firstly, I have read the threads "How To Properly Report Users" and "How to use the Report System [EN]". However, neither one mention the report function built into the "Tab" menu in-game. I'm a newcomer to TruckersMP, so I can only assume the in-game report function is relatively new. My question is this: If I report someone via the in-game menu, should I also file one via the report page at https://truckersmp.com/reports? Obviously, In order to provide video or a screenshot, I'd need to do so via the report page. Still, it's a duplicate report and would seem to create more work for the moderators. So, which is the preferred method: report in-game only, report on the report page only, or report on both? EDIT: Thanks for the answers. I guess the in-game report is for live reports to Admins who are currently in-game? I'll continue to submit them online as well.

Hello, Everytime after I stopped playing I make reports of players that I recorded while driving. My reports got declined because the ID was wrong (there was a recording included to show what happened) I'm wondering, isn't this ID not always wrong as the report is claimed days after it was made? How can you report players then? Can anyone explain me how this system works? Thanks in advance

Suggestion Name: Add a notes section to the in-game reporting. Suggestion Description: Add a note box when you report someone so more detail can be added to help the admin resovle the issue. Any example images: Why should it be added?: To help admins resolve issues withing game. Thanks

I got an idea after driving around in Phoenix when someone who has a great radio voice said, "Welcome to Phoenix's 104.1 FM, watch out for heavy traffic on the I-10 going to Tucson of a over turned truck", then he later said "Mike The Dragon (A name of a player) heading into his garage going to go barbecue in his backyard. Some say Mike's a big guy but that's because he has a big heart and he loves to grill." So maybe someone can chat to everyone on that station. It is just an idea but sounds cool, and add things to it like direct player talking.
