Right, it's time for a well deserved explanation.

 

No, 24S isn't dead. Yes, we are well over 2 weeks late with our grand unveil. Yes, we have encountered a few rather big setbacks which have caused this. Finally, yes... we did forget to update you all and we're sorry (pls don't be mad :( ).

 

However, we can finally give you a few juicy details about 24S - The Grand Tour that are bound to get you very excited... or angry, who knows?

- Website: Our website is essentially complete at this point. We've not been able to produce it the exact way we would have liked. However, it has all been made from scratch courtesy of Arran and his community Insignify Gaming. It gives you all the info you could possibly want about the event (that we can tell you at the moment) and even has a little gallery showing off our past events.

In the near future, it'll also be the place to find all 10-11 of our routes, along with start/end times for each route.

 

- Routes: All the routes we can plan out, have been planned out at this point. We are essentially just waiting on the Baltics expansion to complete the remaining routes. All our routes include at least 1 of our ''city tour'' features we introduced a couple of weeks ago.

- Start Location: As our ets2c post says, we shall be starting 24S - The Grand Tour in Swansea this year. More specifically, a small hotel/fuel station/loop road area just north west of the city itself (pictures of the location below).

 

- Event Date/Time: Due to a clash with another event and some other issues, we've had to move our event back to the 23rd of February 2019. Sadly, this will mean the event doesn't take place during the UK school half term, but it is what it is.

It will finish fairly early in the day on the 24th of February, so there should be plenty of time for you school folks to complete any homework or restore sleep patterns.... or just procrastinate, whatever you want  

 

- Media/Marketing campaign: We are currently planning out our marketing campaign. Our promotional video for 24S - The Grand Tour is currently in production, but it will be sometime before it's complete. We are currently looking for some talented individuals to help us with our marketing campaign, so if you want to get involved please don't hesitate to message us!

That's all we can really tell you for now, we hope this sheds some light on our quiet period recently. We do apologise for not being abit more regular with updates, it's been pretty interesting over the past 2-3 weeks and we simply forgot to update you all.

This is an important announcement for anybody considering hiring Snowball Media.

 

With many, many big changes happening to Snowball Media at the moment (both behind the scenes and publically), we are going to temporarily NOT be available for hire for any events on any platform. Unless there's a special exception of course.Due to the massive changes coming over the next few weeks, and only being a small team we simply can't be everywhere at once. Once we've get everything sorted out we shall make ourselves available for hire again :)

 

Any events we have currently got ongoing, we shall still attend unless we've notified you otherwise. So as of Monday October 7th we will be unavailable for hire until October 20th at the very least. We'll keep you posted as soon as possible. We do apologise if this causes any issues, and we thank-you for sticking with us during this exciting/busy time!

More 24S Update Awesomeness!

 

Lots and lots of stuff has been going on over the past couple of days behind the scenes, and we're not a million miles away from unveiling our official start location for 24S | The Grand Tour either!

We also have a basic website up and running, as opposed to completing it and asking for your opinion on it later on... we've got a barebones website up and running, which we'd like you guys to try out. Over time, we shall be adding more and more cool stuff to it.

 

We've got a rough plan of what we want to do with it, but community feedback is the name of the game and we'd absolutely love to hear what you guys want from our website!

Say hello to the official 24S marshall car! 

 

Seeing as it's sort of fixed now, we decided to give the Scout pilot car a 2nd chance this year. Especially since we can now modify the paint scheme, so obviously, we tried to replicate a real life ambulance car with our usual success rate... You won't see many of these cars, only a few of our team will actually be using them. They will basically act as a ''super duper quick response car'', but we reckon they'll spend more time in hedges to be honest. Basically, if something goes badly wrong, hopefully our super duper quick response cars will be able to rectify the problem quickly and in an entertaining way ;)

Because i'm mentally incapable of doing anything right, we completely forgot that my (Snowball Media, and 24S's) flagship meme truck turned 5 years old yesterday!

 

Yes, i know.. shock and horror. We should all be fired, but with all that's going on behind the scenes lately I kinda sorta just forgot about it. (Please don't ban me).

Anyway, no time like the present. Let's all say happy birthday to something that doesn't physically exist

 

 

Here's to the Volvo FH that became more than a bunch of pixels and programming.

 

To the Volvo FH that brought me and Corrine far closer together than anyone else ever could, and to the Volvo FH that gave us the closest thing to freedom we could possibly get when we needed it the most (Further explaining this in the comments btw). But most importantly of all. here's to the Volvo FH that was there for me when I lost her 2 years ago... when many other friends of mine had given up on me and simply walked away.

 

Here's to the Volvo FH that Snowball Media, 24S and many other communities owe their existance to in one way or another. Here's to the Volvo FH that has united people from across the world, and managed to make them achieve some spectacular things together. Here's to the Volvo FH that is a workhorse by day, and a show pony by night... Featuring in many Snowball Media and 24S videos... Aswell as a cameo appearance in an official SCS Software video.

 

Here's to the Volvo FH that helped bring the media community to TruckersMP, aswell as bring meback from the brink of leaving TruckersMP (due to many, many issues with the community) time and time again. Many of you will call me sad or pathetic for celebrating the birthday of what is essentially... a bunch of pixels and programming, and I don't diasgree with you either. But that won't stop me making these posts every year, for I view this ''bunch of pixels'' more as a friend than what it really is. If you don't like that, then you know where the unlike button is :)

 

I do have my reasons however, Snowball Media was founded while in the cab of this very special Volvo. 2 of the biggest online achievements.. ever for me, it's as a result of those 2 communities that i've achieved what i have achieved... and is why me and my communities are where we are today. Not only did it found Snowball, it helped me make Snowball Media as special as it is today. That and this was the last ever truck that me and Corrine designed together... so it's a pretty special bunch of pixels. So happy birthday Tigger, here's to many more years of awesomeness and Swedish excellence and black and orange bubbleness . Enjoy the new trailer! :D

 

I do apologise for not hosting my usual convoy celebrations to celebrate this occasion... But i've been very busy re-working SBM recently. (It's been insane!) But you can expect to see me and Tigger back in action pretty soon!

 

The grind is now on to get 24S - The Grand Tour ready for next February, and boy oh boy is there a lot to do. There's so much to do in fact, that we're looking to recruit even more of you guys to help us out next year! 24S - The Grand Tour is gearing up to be the biggest TruckersMP event we have ever been able to host, as a result of this we want to make sure the quality of our event is just as breathtaking as the quantity.

 

We are dedicated to making 24S the absolute best it can be as both a fundraiser and as part of a event that the entire TruckersMP community can get stuck into and make lifelong memories as a result. We are looking for talented and passionate individuals to help us make 24S an absolute show stopper. You MUST be able to speak English, but if you can speak other languages aswell then that is awesome!

 

All positions are open, and if you can help in a way we perhaps haven't listed, feel free to tell us your idea, what you could do and how it'll benefit 24S!

 

With your expertise in whatever it is you choose to apply for, we can help improve the lives of our everyday heroes, give back to our UK Ambulance Service for all the amazing work they do. All while making 24S one of the most memorable events on TruckersMP and having an absolute banter while doing it! If you aren't a TruckersMP member, or even a PC gamer of any sort then don't worry!

 

There's plenty of bits and pieces for you to do, we need moderators, marketing specialists, web developers... you name it, we probably need it! There's space for everyone :D

Here's yet another 24S change update post thing...! 

 

This year, we decided that our route choices were somewhat poor. So, we decided to completely redo them and to introduce a new and definitely never before done idea! (probably...)

This year, we're going to be introducing something we've called ''city tours''. Which quite simply is, we will drive through some of the more interesting cities in ETS 2 while on our travels and some convoy staff will tell you cool facts about the city you're currently driving through! 

 

We plan to have at least 2 of these city tours on each route, so it should bring with it abit more variety to keep you all engaged during your long haul across Europe

While this isn't really a huge addition, it's just a little fun idea we had to make the routes that bit more varied and engaging for you all. Since we know driving for 24 hours is easier said than done

 

We may even introduce a little quiz at the end of 24S, recapping on all the facts we covered during our travels. But that's still just a concept

When we said we were changing many, many things about 24S this year... We really weren't joking!

 

This year, to pay homage to the amazing men and women who work tirelessly for the UK Ambulance Service all day, every day... We decided that our event truck skin should reflect the amazing work they do. Sadly, we weren't able to replicate the ambulance liveries very well due to the fact ETS2 wasn't made with the Ambulance Service in mind really. All attempts  we tried didn't exactly end well... However, we decided this year we shall be using TWO different skins entirely.

 

All our previous skins were chosen simply due to the fact they look nice really. However, this years skin choices actually have a reason and meaning to them!

 

The first skin you see (the pink hearts one) will be driven by our event marshalls, media team and any other staff that need to move frequently (the people who drive like morons on the wrong side basically). The skin may well look abit odd for a fundraiser dedicated to the ambulance service, and you aren't wrong either. However, we decided to use it as a way to express just how much we love our awesome UK Ambulance Service! It's an unusual way to show it, we know... But that's why we like it! 

 

 

 

The second skin you see (the blue one) will be used by our convoy control staff. So you will see this combination used by our lead and tail trucks, aswell as the convoy control themselves (the people who post messages in chat about where to go). This skin is also abit unusual, and we had to get abit creative for a reason to use it.. But the reason we chose it in the end is because London is the biggest and busiest city in the UK, which means that the ambulance service in London are flat out day and night. It's one of the busiest areas in the UK for medical staff. So this skin is to pay homage to the London and South East ambulance service specifically (since i'm from the South East UK).

 

 

 

Hopefully you love our skin choices as much as we do. We can't wait to see them in action next year!

Because you guys seem to be keen on the idea of me posting in-depth update posts about what's changing behind the scenes at 24S... Here's another!

 

In the entire time we've been fundraising, we've not once actually had a way of rewarding anybody who stays from the very beginning of 24S, to the very end. Well, that's about to change

This year we are hosting 2 giveaways (More might be planned though). The main giveaway will be one anybody can enter, and it'll be setup pretty much the same as the one I hosted recently for Snowball Media.. So it's hardly worth writing to your gran about

 

The 2nd one however, that will only be available to those who attend 24S from the very start to the very end without leaving and returning later on. We want to give you guys the incentive to push yourself, test your endurance, and win free stuff. It's win win right? There isn't even a entry form, you will be automatically added to the list by our events team and picked at random! (Be sure to add me on steam however, just so i can contact you after!)

 

However, there is another purpose to this giveaway than to give people free stuff...

 

Every day, our UK Ambulance service pull absolutely crazy hours. The longest recorded shift being 20 hours long, the amount of endurance and dedication required for that is frankly insane. So this is our way of paying tribute to those who pull those crazy hours every day, all year round. Now, we can't emulate what they do exactly but you'll have a far better understanding of  just how tiring having to concentrate over 24 hours really is. 

 

Anyway, that's just one of the many changes that'll be coming to 24S over the coming months... More coming soon!
