  1. On the 30th we have a heavy haul convoy again. I missed the first one but I plan on going on the next one, though my current truck cannot really handle more than 25 tons in its current configuration. So I suppose I should switch trucks. I have an old Mercedes that I put up together for heavy hauling but I only used it once, so I've switched the chassis to enable my favorite paintjob, updated a few things around and here it is, now:

I tested hill climb and hill start with a 61 tons locomotive on Dortmund's quarry (the steepest hill there is in the quarry) as well as a couple steep roads around the map, and this truck managed them just fine without even lifting the front wheels off the ground. Also tested braking and acceleration on the landing strip of Amsterdam's airport. Took nearly the whole landing strip of to get it to reach 80 KM/h but it got there. Slamming the service brakes + engine brake + retarder on max + trailer brake stopped it much quicker than I expected, to be honest! So all in all, I think this truck should be fine enough, despite that not being the most appropriate chassis for something as heavy as what up to 70 tons. And I think it looks nice. :) Sure, it's no Draco Pete, but it looks alright.

Wonder if a owned 0 ton heavy cargo trailer would count for that convoy :troll:
