A cool down timer in game chat

Suggestion Name: Game Chat time out/cool down

Suggestion Description: Have a timer to stop spamming and slow chat like a max up to 30 sces and block out sending the same words like what twitch dose

Why should it be added?: It to stop chat spam so it wont clog up the chat

There's many issues with your suggestion. While thoughtful, the end result won't make much difference.

 

1. 1.3 - Spamming or Abuse

   Using any of the report or communication systems provided on TruckersMP services inappropriately. This can include but is not limited to spamming them, reporting users multiple times with the same evidence and misusing the system for its intended purposes.
   > Despite rule 1.3 including chat spam. Game Moderators have advised my web reports that spam is dealt with when an admin sees it. Otherwise, it's kickable.
   > Encountered an account seller spamming the chat in Calais. GM kicked the player. A bit later, i found that same player in TMP's Duisburg. They were spamming for at least 30 minutes. Made a web report and was told it was a kickable offense.

2. There are ways around spam. Such as, spacing out the time length of the message. Or, modifying the characters to lo0k c|iff3re|\|t. (different).

3. What if there's desync, will it still punish the player?

4. And if it's a VTC advertisement, will they fall victim to this?

5. What words, in all spoken languages, even qualifies as spam for the system detection (of your suggestion) to kick in?

 

Twitch is much easier to maintain. You've got everyone on the streamer's channel and can only use the chat. Given most big channels have tons of moderators, they can enable slowmode and/or scroll to pause the chat to find the message they want to deal with.

 

TMP is a much different story. You've got thousands of players on the same server with up to 200 within a 700m radius. And about 3 GM on per day. Game Moderator's cannot pause the chat.

oh yes i like this idea  i think it should be a 5 min cool down for advertisements
