Automated Driving Test Once Bans Are Expired To Check If You Can Rejoin Sim 1/Promods

Suggestion Description

Add a randomized driving test to check if the offender can actually drive well enough and abide to the rules to then be allowed to rejoin the most populated server.

Any example images

No

Why it should be added

A good portion of the community is attracted to CD like insects are to lights. It's not the vehicle that is the cause of accidents, it's the driver. Staff have to deal with countless bad driver reports on a daily basis. Some offenders don't learn from their last ban and do whatever they did last time to get extra time on their ban.

By having this test, not only can it help them to drive better. But, it's also a way to punish them with longer tests if they don't want to be a normal driver. Win-Win.

A staff monitored driving test is a good theory. But, would require accepting way more trial moderators. Like the DMV, they would only be able to accept a small amount of people per session.

How the system works

Firstly, when your ban expires, a script checks server population. If the number exceeds 500, it locks you out.

A Potential Script Check could be:

If PlayerBan.Status = false

Do GetServerPopulation = return

If return >500 do Simuation1 + Promods = Server.deny

Server.deny do AutoTest.Results

If AutoTest.Results = Pass. Server.deny false

You get the idea. Until you pass the test, you are denied the 2 most populated servers. Therefore, being restricted from not only adding another report to your record. But, you won't be causing as much harm.

Secondly, a new server is added and can only be viewed when you are awaited the automatic driving test. Called, Automatic Driving Test.

The server is solo instanced (like when you're kicked from Sim 1).

Third. A prompt appears asking if you want to swap vehicles. You are allowed to use whatever vehicle you own. If you don't own one, you'll have to take a quick job.

The test will consist of the following

Legend Section/Clause Number Description. A clause is defining the section

1 Scripted Vehicles

Clause 1 Consists of randomized trucks and cars with different upgrades. Can also be lacking a trailer or have a randomized trailer

1A Pass Junctions at given intervals

Clause 1A If a player is 100m away, the vehicle can run it. If a player is 50m away the vehicle can abide to signs/lights

1B Parked up

Clause 1B In a lane or in a parking spot

1C Collisions, Wrong Way, & Reckless

Clause 1C May try to ram you, go against the intended direction of travel, or just be a reckless driver

2 Driving Route

2A Point A to B

Clause 2A Self Explanatory. Get from Point A to a Point B

2B Route Length

Clause 2B Depending on the variable selected, route length can be short or longer. 1 town over or across the map

2B1 Bans

Clause 2B1 If a ban is issued within 30 days of the last ban, all future tests have a 100% chance of being way longer with a higher amount of variables in play

4 months must pass without any additional bans to get lower variables

The test must have random variables. Why?

If scripted to be a singular location, it leads to spoilers to warn/inform everyone else of. Such as when to brake, what's going to happen, and how they can pass with no possible way of failing, to then get banned again.

It makes each test more unique not knowing what variables are being thrown at you. You could get everything, or you could get minimal.

Driving

A watcher script is monitoring your every action.

Speeding, Reckless, Wrong Way, not maintaining lanes, running reds, collisions are all dedications off your score.

Pass/Fail

During the test, you have a score you start out with.

As you drive, points are subtracted for each infraction you do.

At the end of the test, you have a score to maintain.

Failure to do so requires a 1 hour waiting period.

The test can be attempted as many times until Passed.

The tests below are recommended values for length and scores. Can be modified to fit the variables in play

Short Tests: 2 KM or Less

Max Score: 100. Min Score: 60

Medium Tests: 2 KM to 10 KM

Max Score: 300. Min Score: 150

Hard Tests: 10 KM or longer

Max Score: 1000. Min Score: 500

If a player feels their score was wrong and has strong evidence to prove they got deducted unfairly, they can make an ticket.

Hello @Somehow Lucky

It might be a good idea but I only see a positive side to be able to have fewer incidents of that player in the most populated server in the game (simulator 1).

This idea of yours seems as if a person should take a driver's license before entering to play.

Positive point:

- Have less chance of accidents for that player who has committed infractions in the past hoping that with the test he behaves better while driving.

Negative points:

1) It would take a lot more moderators to make this happen because there are many players banned for violating the rules on the game and I don't think it's a small problem to solve or create a separate role that deals only with these tests (but there is need more people hired).

2) Even if a player passes the test, no one can say if after entering the simulation 1 server, that offender does not violate other rules.

Often even in real life, people get their driver's license driving correctly at that time at the driving school. After they get the driver's license that teaches them how to behave on the road with the road rules... They drive recklessly. Unfortunately I have seen many even in real life. So imagine yourself in a game.

Even if it was something automatic without the need for physical persons for this test...

What gives you confidence that after passing the tests, the person will drive correctly? If it were to happen again, what would all this have been for?

@ROMANISTA [ITA]

It's an automatic test that doesn't require any mods to oversee it. Just some scripted trigger points, and such, to ensure the banned offender does the test.

If they don't do the test or don't pass, they can't access Promods & Sim 1. It's an incentive on their end to actually try and pass or they can enjoy desolate servers that have anywhere from 6 to 200 players. Because we all know that 80% of the community is addicted to CD like a chain smoker.

Depends on the offenses in the ban that were given. Driving infractions enables this. Getting perma banned won't enable this. Like i said in the suggestion, if they get banned again before the timeframe passes, the test gets increasingly tougher.

The DMV is in no way harsh enough to force retakes and remind you of how to be a good driver after getting your license. And if you've watched any car crash compilation video, most of those could of been easily avoided. But, that's the DMV for you. Letting you obtain a license for just knowing what a road and a car is. (Hopefully, you understand the point i'm trying to make).
