Thoughts, opinion and criticism on the Scout car

What are your thoughts on the Scout car and its playerbase? What do you like and hate about it? What would you change about it?

I believe that the Scout car is a nice addition to TruckersMP. Adding different types of vehicles other than trucks makes the game feel more realistic. The team also made a very great job on the modeling and texturing and I applaud them for that. I use the Scout car as a personal vehicle for me to roam the beautiful landscapes of ETS2 or I simply drive it for joy.

The physics are meh. It's not close to a real car since it uses truck physics, but it's a truck game after all, so I think it's quite acceptable but still could be improved a little bit.

The playerbase consists of people that break the rules. They use this vehicle to ruin other people's experience since the car tends to be faster than trucks and can easily make them roll over. I really hate it when this happens. Because of this, the Scout car obviously is hated and has a bad reputation, and some people want it to be restricted to staff. Of course, there are people who know how to handle this car, but these people are unfortunately few in number.

What are your thoughts? I think this topic is interesting to discuss about!

Hello, I love driving skoda and skoda itself, I own a few skodas in different colors, it is a very successful vehicle in general, but of course there are also bad aspects, for example, it is very bad in terms of braking or physically, we can immediately roll over or it can become impossible to slow down in rainy weather, moreover, since the chassis is built on scania, it has a slightly unstable physics structure, maybe it should be built on a different vehicle instead of scania.

Hello trucker.

Here is a topic that has been discussed several times here on the forum, the car on TMP

In relation to accidents, it is not the car's fault but the driver. Perhaps the car could only be available to players without a ban.

The car was placed in the TMP with the idea of escorting and for the TMP team.

Very soon we will have AI traffic on the TMP is something we all have been waiting for a long time.

good km

While the car is a good concept, it should be more restrictive. How?

  1. ESCORT. A forum rank assigned to VTC's. It's an escort vehicle for VTC's so it only makes sense to allow it for them.
  2. We already have the police variant restrictive to staff.
  3. Having a criteria to be able to drive a plain colored car. Similar to staff applications, it could be based off your ban history, being level 50+ on your profile, and some other things i can't think of.

Currently, the car is a staple vehicle of trolling. From queue cutting lines of trucks, to ramming into others, to having a quality engine.

At least trolls will be back in trucks and the car can actually become an icon of gameplay. Rather then a torpedo managing to takeout trucks.

Well the skoda is a nice addon to makes playing truckersMP more varied, its good when you driving some big loads and your mates drive around with skodas.

Or sometimes i just enjoy to drive a few kilometer with it, makes sometime fun.

But sadly some players only use the skodas to troll, and thats a realy big problem in my eyes.

Passenger vehicles make up the majority of vehicles on the real world road. In a simulator, they help to create a more realistic image of road traffic.

I'd like to see more varying traffic in TruckersMP, be it by providing different drivable passenger vehicles or by AI traffic.

The Scout is a start, but hopefully not the end.

The Skoda Cars are a very interesting addition to the game.

They add another level of gameplay with a different kind of vehicles apart from trucks.

They are fast in accelleration and they have a small turning angle.

However, I have come accross a few problems with these cars.

One thing is that it is very easy to tip over with these cars. If you are driving 110 and you steer just a little to hard, you instantly flip like 3 times.

Another problem is, that these cars behave very very very strange in collisions. They have a very weird hitbox. When a truck and a car collide, the car often wins.

And what I have realised: The cars are often used to annoy other players. They are very easy to miss on the road and their weird hitbox and fast acceleration are used to annoy other players that just want to enjoy the game.

Even if you don't have the intentions of annoying other players, speed feels different in these cars. 110 looks slower in a car than it looks in a truck. This leads to overestimation of your own abilities and therefore leads to accidents as well.

So I think that the cars are a good addition and it was a good idea to add a popular Singleplayer Mod into the Multiplayer. However, I would maybe look into the hitboxes and the problems mentioned above.
