So its me again, was in Rotterdam now and traffic jam and stuff and i found out my gtx660 works like hell in that kind of situation, so would gtx970 made it better or no?

it will always lag,but i guess it will be a bit better playable.i got the feeling tht 16GB RAM helps aswell.but in generally its mainly the engine that cant handle it.

A 970 is pointless to buy right now imo because most games will not be able to use it up with your processor you probably have.

Upgrading your rig won't do anything for ETS2MP. Did an upgrade myself recently (also a gtx970) and it makes 0 difference compared to my gtx470 in very crowded areas.

 

4 fps in Rotterdam isnt rare when using the in truck view

2 reasons. 1 your processor proabably can't take avantage of the new card because it is not fast enough. 2 ETS2MP is 32 bit so it can not take avantage of the whole system

1. I upgraded my whole rig, if a 5GHz cpu struggles then something is wrong.

2. Don't think it's related to the amount of ram and beside that the differences between 32/64bit aren't that spectacular either.

I dont think it will be better, I own myself a lovely R9 270 and I can play in SP no lagg ultra settings 60fps with recording. But in Mp for example rotterdam I have 3fps inside cabin and 20 outside.

The engine was also not optimized for more than one player, so imo the only other way for it to improve is if SCS helped or optimized the game for it. I doubt that since they have 1.15 coming and plan on doing an American Truck Simulator

Alright, no upgrade SCS should rly do something about that.

Scs will not optimize the game for mp because they simply can't. The only way we will get a fully optimized version is if scs came out with their own multiplayer because scs does not have access to the source code as far as we know.

Yep, a 970 is a nice improvement, but its not gonna help much in busy places in MP. From what I know, the way all the trucks are rendered, hurts the FPS.

I wouldn't worry about upgrading just yet unless the devs are going to try and make a 64 bit version of mp but as it's alot of work to get 32 bit up and running 64 bit they may not have much time but fingers crossed that one day they may just do it
