Steam Name instead of Nickname

Suggestion Name: Use of steam name in-game.

Suggestion Description: using steam name in-game rather than Nickname from TruckersMP website.

Any example images: N/A

Why should it be added?: There are many reasons. Some are listed below.

1. VTCs ask their drivers and staff members to add name tags in their Steam Name to distinguish.(In-game tags are not enough sometimes)
2. Instead of only Steam Names, VTC will have to index "Nickname" also. (because Nicknames can be different from Steam Name)
3. Websites which are using TruckersMP API will now have to add another "attribute" for "nickname" to their database if they haven't already.

I hope more people support this suggestion.

The game already use your Steam name.

With the new update to the multiplayer mod, nicknames are taken from the website, not steam, so your incorrect there. 

 

I can see why you want nicknames from steam @OP but I don't exactly know why they changed it. I'm sure someone from the team could tell you more.

I Much prefer steam names as they can be changed easily. However, if you are going to keep the API usernames, please make it so you can use previous names if they are not taken.

No, this new update helps players to be more easily identifiable. It also means that if you have an innapropriate Steam name, your in-game name wont be affected.

 

For the VTC issue there is already a tag system in game.

I think in-game tag system is sufficient for VTC... because your VTC tag shouldn't be that long any ways...
