Game is laggy

when i start ets2 mp (also in singleplayer) it crashes when showing the scs logo. when i play in openGL it does't but then the game is very leggy. can sombody help me

Okay, your PC is not the problem. Are you ure you aint running other big programs/processes at the same time? This may "eat up" the cpu power.

only microsoft edge and some other small programs. my cpu usage is about 8% when playing

Hi, have you tried steams verify integrity of game cache?

 

1. Load Steam.
2. From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu - the main ETS 2 game not the MP
3. Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache button.
4. Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.

does sound like a gfx problem tho can you run it in compability mode on icons? been hearing good and bad about win10 and gaming, some having probs and some not etc puts me off upgrading tbh

I've had some experience with crashing. Here are some tips:

• Remove any compatibility options in both game executable and ETS2MP launcher - they're no longer necessary when using Windows 10. This includes running as admin, Windows 7/8 compatibility modes etc. Also do not run Steam as administrator, start it in a normal way.
• If you have any kind of game overlays enabled (for example: FPS meters [FRAPS, MSI Afterburner, Mirilis Action etc.] or TeamSpeak3 overlay), disable them. You can try disabling Steam overlay as well.

Problem with DirectX mode on Windows 10 will be solved by SCS Software soon. About OpenGL, I can only say that game isn't good optimized on this mode, and you should write about this problem on forum.scssoft.com.
