Want to get into ETS2 paintjob development... Any advice?

When it comes to programs you only really need an image editor (Photoshop with a dds plugin, GIMP, Paint.NET, etc) that can export DDS files (and if you choose not to use a program that handles most of the mod files, a program to edit TOBJ files, a hex editor can be used for this as well). You'll also want the SCS workshop uploader from the tools section on Steam if you want to publish them to the workshop.

You may or may not want to use a program that makes the whole process easier, for that I would recommend "Paint job packer" by Carsmaniac, you can find that on the SCS forums. https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=282956

What you'll also need is all the templates, these can be found on the SCS forums as well. This one is for ETS2, also made by Carsmaniac: https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=272386

They also have a guide video, which covers pretty much everything you'd need to know.
