Is profanity a rule?

I got kicked for "profanity" by @oolala11, is that even a rule?

 

The game rules show you can't use insulting language to another player, which I'm guessing is like "f*** you".

 

However I used it in the way of "the f***" in response to an unusual comment in that chat. I don't see how it's insulting to anyone, so I'd like to know whether general profanity that isn't against anyone allowed?

Yes, ofcourse it is a rule. Using profanity isn't allowed, as seen in the game rules. Don't worry about it, this is only a kick. Next time it could be a ban.

Appreciate the quote, I didn't understand what the "expressions" part meant.

Dear @H4MZ4_,

 

whenever you speak to somebody and you use a word, this is called an "expression". For example, when I see a BMW, I will say "amazing" (unless it is the 2 series Active Tourer). However, that is an "expression" since I literally 'express myself' by using a word, phrase or sentence.
What you said was inappropriate because the f-word is not allowed and considered to be inappropriate. That is why you broke the rule I have quoted above
