Logout of steam,
Step 2 
Login to steam,
Step 3
Go In-Game again,
Step 4 
And Your Problem Solved.

Hi, this is how to fix "An error occurred while updating ETS2" (Or other games).

Go to Steam > Settings > Downloads


You will see "Download Region". Change to another region.



After doing that, steam will ask to restart and after your game will update/download!

Try first of all reinstalling ETS2, and reformat the directory too if the reinstallment of ETS2 the first time doesn't solve the issue

Please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Euro Truck Simulator 2\bin\win_64x

 

Once there, right click the application 'eurotrucks2.exe' and click on 'Properties'

Once the Properties menu appears, please Click on the 'Security' tab and give all users there Full Control. (Make sure everything is ticked for all users)

 

This 'should' unlock the file.
