This is mostly an internal change that does not impact players but may affect third parties. If you are not interested in the technical jargon, here is an important summary for you: There will be no more release notes on the forum. Please join our Discord server to connect with our community. Our previous versioning was a leftover from the "old times". In the current stage of development, however, even we got lost in what the numbers stand for. Because of this, we are now adopting Semantic Versioning 2.0.0 with an addition of a number component at the beginning to represent the software release cycle. With that being said, by its definition, TruckersMP is still in the alpha stage. The final version format is: stage.major.minor.patch. The current release, "0.5.8.0", is an example of such a version tag. Internally, we have redefined our release pipeline in the following manner: Every release will now have a unique version tag. This tag is unified across all our software with a few internal exceptions. The DLL properties, including the file and product versions, are automatically updated on every release. The release notes will be automatically generated by our internal tool. The client version in the launcher will be automatically updated by our internal tool. As a result of the changes above: We will no longer share release notes on the forum, with a few exceptions for major releases or large changes (such as this one).
