Wont let me log in into mp. It says Connection refused you need to have the newest version of mp

So heres the thing I bought ETS2 yesterday and instaled it i did everything as it said and now i try to play it online and when i want to i get into the driving screen and down left corner it says Please wait loging in may take some time after 10 sec it  says Connection refused. I dont know what to do please help me

Thanks for the reply and yes i did all of the steps and downloaded the game from the site and it wont let me log on

did you buy the game on steam or you have on disc ?

It was bought on humble bundle and activated on steam
