Weird thing happening.

Well, heres a list of a few and short things that happened to me recently.

 

A) Since the last update to "1.40" I found out that my MS (ping) has actually got up, I used to have 28-35 consistently, now.. doesn't lower from 45, so I wonder.. what happened? Server location changed? No clue, just a possibility for me, which may not be true.

B) When the server reaches 4K players or more, my MS gets higher and doesnt go down, if it does, its only for a few seconds, not only happening to me but almost everyone since I play with a friend who has 10-12ms and when the server has 4K players he has around 18-25 or more sometimes.

C) Sudden lag, this happened mostly after the new update where I've seen my MS go to 9K or even higher which is insane, no clue why.

D) Before the arguments and accusations of "it must be your PC" or "your internet", no, it isnt, otherwise why did I always play fine with no issues and now this? Doesnt make any sense, also if that was true why when this happens and I go to "simulation 2" none of the listed/mentioned above happens? Doesnt make any sense either.

 

Thats all, just curiosity on this thread to see if it has happened to someone else and a seek for help on regards to how to deal with this.

First of all welcome to TruckersMP forum

 

 

1-) Possible solutions:

 

1-) Don't use Wi-Fi;

2-) Don't do download, many browser tabs open, stream, Spotify while playing;

3-) Make sure your internet is not being shared at the same time that you are playing;
4-) When disconnected from a server, try to connect to another server with few users;
5-) Prefer to start your trips and places with less traffic before reaching areas with more traffic;
6-) Using programs like NOPING helps to change your internet route with game servers, this avoiding sending packet data losses before you solve your route problem with your operator.

7-) Use VPN this Improve latency and reduce ping using a faster server connection.

 

 

2-) Possible solutions:  

 

Ingame:

- Enable Vsync   It is always better to having a Stable FPS Rate around 60 than often a Jumping between 180 till 45 or lower.

- Set Scale to 400%

- Disable MLAA

- Disable DOF

- Set all following Quality Settings to max.

- Disable Anisotropic Filtering by moving the Slider to the left Side.

Depending on your Internet Connection and your PC Spec´s, the following Setting Increasing or Decreasing the Graphic Performance and your own Lags or your Lagging to other User.

 

- Development Logging

- Load Cabin Accessoires

- Load Flags

- Aditional Lights

- Draw Distance

The EU servers have been unstable the past weeks and everyone is experiencing what you are describing, specially on Sim1 and Promods.

Developers are aware of the issues and are looking into it as mentioned in the latest Development Update:

The OVHCloud data center in which the servers were hosted suffered a fire and since the incident the company(OVH) has had difficulties in managing the servers. The ping change may be due to the datacenter change as SBG-1/2 are turned off. (May not be the situation)

 

The server is probably hosted on Western Europe because it is the only available locations of the company.

I've checked and the Simulation 1 server is located at Germany, hosted by the company called "Hetzner". The ProMods server is located at the same location also.

I have a weirder problem: after some minutes of playing , instantly my MS go up to 700+ and everyone lag and is unplayable (MS doesn't drop until i restart the game). I have 1Gbits and a Ryzen2600x with Gtx660 and 16gb ram... i haven't find any solution.

I used to play the game with WI-FI connection and moving to LAN made a huge difference. This is marked as medium as this might need long LAN cables and some resources to setup. However if you are sitting near your router this is an easy process.
