I'm about to start a new ETS2 user profile.
I will continue the tradition of getting the most possible realism out of the simulator.
This will include (but is not limited to):
--> g_income_factor set to 0.2 (must be a value between 0 and 1, where 1 is full income)
--> Penalties for violating road traffic rules ON--> Following all national road traffic rules, speed limits, rest periods and driving times
--> WOT (World Of Trucks) jobs only (once I've purchased my own truck. Naturally, I haven't decided yet which truck I will choose. But it will be configured following the J-SPEC requirements)
You think I am missing something important?
Let me know in the comments!
Thanks for your feedback!

It depends on whether I'm playing SP or MP. In SP, I have all stabilities (truck and trailer), suspensions (truck and cabin) and brake intensity at 0.0. In MP, though, I don't dare using those. Specially the brake intensity, so I use something like 0.5 for stabilities, 0.0 for suspensions and 1.0 for brakes.

Update:
I found some time to create a new profile and drove some quick jobs.
About 1,500 kilometers later I roughly own a total of 7.800 EUR (of which 2.000 EUR were already on my account when I started the new profile, IIRC).
Naturally, it takes longer to make money with the income factor set to 0.2. A 200 kilometer drive will pay something between 600 and 1.100 EUR, depending on load and experience.
Talking about experience, I've reached level 3 by now. I spent my experience points on fragile cargo because it provides the highest benefits.
My headquarter is located in Porto, Portugal.
Iberia is beautiful!

Update:
I've reached level 6 and maxed out fragile cargo.
I've driven about 3.800 kilometers and I own a total amount of money of ca. 12.000 EUR.
It's a long way to my first owned truck. But I enjoy every driven kilometer knowing it brings me closer to my goal.
Yesterday, I left Iberia for the first time.
A job took me from Burgos (Spain) to Plymouth (UK).
I took the ferry from Santander. In the harbor of Plymouth, signs tell you to drive on the left side.
Better safe then sorry!
