Here are some stuff that help to increase FPS
Disable Flags DLC if you have it Disable avatars Lower the game's scaling

Cuz when you take a screenshot, your game freezes for a second
As far as I know, in the early days people abused it to intentionally block/brake-check the people behind them; You can still go around that by using e.g. Fraps or some similar recording software

type it in e.g. notepad & copy/paste it as a tag?

There are few options, but the easiest ones are:
Turn off CB radio from in-cab Set it's volume to 0 through MP options Swtich to other CB channel (btw Welcome to the forum )

^I already left a notice to our team leader, but anyway, I'll try to explain what we consider as "useless content" - Basically its posts like the ones below, which don't add up any useful info about the topic in general:

Hai, the servers work with UTC time zone - In other words there are still around 45mins left until it expires

The 3 most common reasons for speedlimiters are:
External contracts are always limited to 90kph (or w/e that is in mph, these contracts are always limited - the idea is that everyone gets equal and as close to real-life conditions as possible) You've got enabled speedlimiter at MP's settings (at the end) The ATS EU1 and ETS EU1 servers are limited to 110kph (and cars are disabled at them)

Hai, simply go to MP' settings, write (or paste) w/e you want as your tag and click on the little square to select a colour)

Hai, you can easily check it on the Download page  (ETS: 1.24.2.2s  and 1.3.1.1s for ATS)

I'll try to explain them as simple as possible:
Griefing = when someone comes to you and starts doing everything he can to prevent you from enjoying the game (e.g. keeps spamming you, stalking you, plays all kind of stuff through the CB radio just to annoy you) Cheating = using hacks like speedhack, teleporting around etc. (money cheats are still allowed, because MP doesn't have economy system yet and it doesn't use anything related to your in-game money)

^To mute it, simply slide the "Music volume" slider to the left:

Y - opens chat Esc closes it /t or /time = server time /pm <ID> <text> = personal message to a player /r = reply to a personal message /s or /search <part of name, at least 4 characters> = search for players /pinfo <id> = player's info - current ID on the server, SteamID, TruckersMP ID and his full name /p or /players = amount of players online /h or /help = shows all available commands  
Few important things:
DO NOT open steam overlay while the chat is on (because it tends to glitch and you'll have to restart the game) If you are using a keyboard to drive, you will loose control over the truck while typing (oh btw: Welcome to the forum)

They can't see it, because they don't have that DLC (in order not to crash people, MP replaces the DLC parts on your truck with truck's stock ones)

Nope, sadly not, you'll have to get 2h on ATS  (you can just leave the gmae running on background)

First of all welcome to the forum
 
IMO the easiest solution will be to use this profile until MP gets updated to support ets1.24 and the whatever ATS version it is
(why - because you didn't had the game before it got updated to 1.24 +  I doubt that your game has made any profile backups for e.g. - http://image.prntscr.com/image/cb3d4b06fa3a40f588ed541b6d188fd6.png)

to simply explain it:
 
No traffic at EP = cars are allowed
Too much traffic at EP = no cars allowed

You can buy them through any in-game dealer
(note that the cars are not allowed on ATS and ETS' EU1 servers)

To simplify your options:
Mute players through tab menu button Turn off the CB from your cab when you join Turn down the voice and mic volume to 0 (through MP settings>Sounds), so you won't hear people when they talk  

Nothing unusual - the cars are not allowed on ATS eu1 and ETS eu1, so the servers won't allow connection if you are driving the car

You need to put the engine in Single player and save your game (and hen simply use the same save in MP)

IMO the safest way is to have separate save for MP and SP
 
In a nutshell, that's what I use:
Make a save called "MP" (for the times when you are in a non-collision zone and you don't have a mission, so you won't have to risk damaging yourself or others and you won't have to cancel any late jobs) and one called "MP Job" (for cases when you have to stop on the side of the road and leave  the server) sell all the drivers' trucks (otherwise they'll spam you with "i need a truck to work" messages) and keep 1 truck from each model in your MP save (so you won't have to waste money on new trucks) Get rid of all the drivers  
That way:
No more glitching earnings Autosaving doesn't cause your game to freeze Drivers won't eat the jobs anymore
