  1. Dear players,

Today we are celebrating seven years of TruckersMP! A multiplayer modification surrounded by an awesome community. Every tireless night of development has been worth it, and we are still going strong today.

In May of 2020, we turned six years old and it was only right that we celebrated with a festival! The six hour festival was supported by our partner TruckersFM and we had a massive party. In June, we supported the Grimes Summer Mod which gave the community a summer experience on our servers! July brought us the very first Patreon Convoy which gave those who support us a chance to drive together and have some fun on the way.

August then came around and we gave the community a chance to ask the Upper Staff some questions in the Summer Q&A. Everyone took great advantage of this and it allowed us to share some information on topics we hadn’t discussed before! Moving onto September we relaunched our Community Contributor program which was a huge success - it gave some of our online supporters recognition for their work and they continue to help us out every day. In October, we thought it was only right to celebrate with an Official Halloween Convoy and despite all the scary jump scares and twists and turns, it was a lot of fun for everyone involved. Also in October TruckersFM celebrated their fifth year anniversary with a big party!

November was an exciting time for us, we opened and recruited for the Stream Team. This team was created to help improve interaction with the community on our streaming platforms and so far it has been a huge success, helping to stream all of our official events! In the last month of 2020, the wintery month of December, a wonderful time of year to give back. Last December we supported the RSPCA and the community helped to raise a huge £1,537 to support animals in need.

In January we held our second Patreon convoy and we decided to head through the new DLC Colorado, we had fun and it was nice to bring everyone together. Then, something insane happened, we hit 4 million users in February. This was our fourth major milestone and we were so proud of this achievement - we look forward to continuing to grow with you all! In March we introduced a new feature, Alternating Vehicles and with the ability to vote, users can now come together and decide what vehicle they wish to drive for two weeks. Also in March we introduced a brand new event, the TruckersMP Tournament which put users to the test as they competed to be the winner of the competition through a series of different challenges. In April we moved Twitch channels and as a first stream we decided to give users the opportunity to work together to drive a truck in the Twitch Plays ETS2 stream. This brings us to now, May 2021 and we are just about to celebrate our seventh birthday here at TruckersMP. We can’t wait to tell you all about it next year!

So, what is in store for 2021?

We are planning some great things this year and we hope that this year can only get better following 2020. We have plans to create exciting community engagement through events and we hope that you join us on that journey!

Thank you again for all your support and contributions last year, TruckersMP is an amazing place where everyone can come together in bad times and 2020 proved that. We appreciate every single one of you. Without you, TruckersMP would not be where it is today. We will continue to do our best to give back for all the support you have granted us over the past seven years.

Personally, I find it a bit unnecessary to bring new vehicles into the game, since it is a truck simulator and not the highway simulator.

I can understand your thoughts on this to be honest and I think a lot of people may share them. What I would say is that at TruckersMP we always look for ways to keep people entertained and I think driving a truck all the time can get a bit tiresome and boring, obviously this is not the case for you - which is great. However, some people really enjoy the new vehicles and so I suppose it is all about your own personal opinion. Though I appreciate you sharing your opinion! ?

I was very pleased to see these added to the game, my only complaint is that the voting platform seems to change a lot, I would like it to be on the FORUM or Discord ONLY, that is just my opinion, because I could not vote for the Jeep alternating vehicle, as I do not have Twitter and also, I believe that the vehicles should have more realistic controls, or at least, the mirrors match that of the real height.  It can make it difficult to see if there is anyone behind you.

But still, overall GREAT change.   #TMP7

    Kind regards,

    Mirage2357

We swap our vehicle votes so that the community can vote across different platforms. I understand why it may be frustrating but there are some people who may only have Twitter and so on - we have to cater for everyone I am afraid ?

For now the alternating cars are a nice test if your CarMod is working ot not.

But after this Test i want to see all of this car ingame and usable for more variation on the road.

I like this cars really much, especially the car which looked like a VW Passat, because i like station wagons and because it has a trailer hitch.
Till now the Skoda Octavia looking car is the only permanent car on the Server with a trailer hitch and it is not really diversified.

I do not believe that all of these cars will be added. Currently the alternating vehicles are a fun feature that change bi-weekly to keep people entertained. It would not be viable to add all of these cars to the game permanently as it would add so much more time to a game update. We will see ?

9 hours ago, Mary Jackson said:

The arrival of alternative vehicles is very good in terms of diversity. But since most people drive from the first-person camera, it feels very boring every time in skoda interior. ?

As I have explained many times before the interior being custom is not viable, we cannot really ask our voluntary add-on team to create an interior for four cars (because we do not know which car will win) and ask them to make them in a two week or less period whilst the vote is going on. So as a result it is better to have some sort of interior rather than none at all. I hope this answers your question ?

my only issue with these vehicles is i noticed as of 1.40 that one of the vehicles didn't revert back to a Scania R(2009) like the scout car does and like other normal truck mods do it's stuck in my garage as a N/A and if i even click on it my game crashes to desktop because of it so i cant even sell it to open up a garage slot for a truck so i think future vehicles need to have that same ability to turn back into a stock 2009 Scania R when you use your profile outside of MP also would it hurt to maybe use some different interiors than just the scout car interior cause it seems like you can make the engines sound different and the vehicle handle different but skimp on the interior and reuse the basic scout car interior

I think skimp is the wrong word here. To ask our voluntary add-on team to create an interior for four vehicles within a week or so period is quite the ask and to make an interior is rather complicated. As far as I am aware the sounds for these vehicles are already curated or are much more simple to gain (I am not knowledgeable in the add-on creation of these vehicles). So I hope this answers your question - we would if we could see it as a viable thing to do but it is not really that simple.

I voted for every alternating vehicle poll up to now. I am very satisfied with the decision to implement new vehicles, because I think it spices up the just a little bit more.

I personally don't mind the same interior as the scout is. What I kind of would want to see is that cars/personal vehicles could drive a little faster than trucks.

The limit for trucks is 110 km/h outside of the city. Maybe the cars could be allowed up to 130 km/h. It's just a thought that you maybe even already considered but found a valid reason why not to do it.

This is not really in line with the discussion but there is a speed limit that is server wide I don't think it is possible to differ this between vehicles - this is more of a developer question. You could possibly suggest this on the forums but I can't guarantee it will be done or is possible to be done.

We're very happy with the tools in the game. But when many players use these tools for troll purposes, I don't think our thoughts about these tools are very good.

I understand what you are saying but what I want to point out is that even if there were no cars in the game at all, these collisions would still happen with trucks so the situation would not change - just the vehicle that is used. But our moderation team are working their hardest to handle those who break our rules. ?

  6. Hello everyone! Welcome to the 36th instalment of our Hot Topic.

For this instalment we want to gather people's thoughts and opinions on one of the most recent projects within TruckersMP: Alternating Vehicles. ?

What do you think so far? Have you participated in the voting? Have you been driving the new vehicles?

  7. Thanks everyone for sharing your opinions on the new Renault T facelifts which we will hopefully see on TruckersMP servers soon. It was great to hear what everyone thought of them and I hope you're all looking forward to the next Hot Topic!

Speak to you all again soon! ❤️

So now that Promods 2.55 is released. Is the aim going to change to support 2.55 immediately and skip 2.52?

And would Iberia DLC then be a mandatory requirement to play on the TMP promods server? ?

From what I can imagine the aim will be to support 2.55 as far as I know. If this is not the case then someone who does know will for sure confirm it.

To answer your question, to play on the Promods server you first need Promods and if it requires the Iberia DLC then you will have to have it.

It is difficult to respond to every comment but all of the positive and kind messages are much appreciated and I'm sure the wider staff team appreciate it as well! ❤️

Nice! Finally some information. It wasn't hard, was it? And yet again you bring a moderate amount of uncertains and missed oportunities. Let's see:

"... although the TruckersMP Team consists of over 230 members, it's only our two Game Developers that have the knowledge..." - Why don't you invite more people to help those 2 with the proper knowedge and training? This game is world wide popular. Is it that hard to find IT entusiasts?

"Has the new lighting system affected the multiplayer porting process?
No, the updated lighting system introduced in 1.40 has not affected multiplayer in a substantial way. There are, however, some minor issues with our Scout vehicle's headlights/beacons, which will be resolved for our update.
" - If lighting is no problem to do, why not update to 1.40 and do Iberia and Scout after that? The cars are a menace/buggy anyway and most players don't even drive them. In other words - it won't be a big miss to turn them off for a while

"Why are you focusing on creating official events, instead of working on the new version?" - why indeed... There are no lasting benefits or good memories from participating in these anyway.

Sorry for my English, I'm not native to it.

    Hey there,

The information provided does indeed include uncertainties, we cannot provide a 100% accurate answer because if there are unforeseen problems in development then we do not want to lie to you, we are fully transparent and honest that we do not know for sure - we have given the answers to the questions we do know and this does provide a lot of clarity on the issue.

I just wanted to shed some light on some of the comments that you have made. Firstly, if it was so simple to get more game developers - I assure you, we would. However, people with the ability and knowledge to help out our current developers are limited, particularly those who are willing to do it for free. I know you might say, "why don't you use the money from Patron?", but I would direct you to the average salary in a corporate job for someone with this knowledge - they are making a lot of money and it would be unreasonable for them to stop doing that to work for TruckersMP, for free. An IT enthusiast is completely different to someone with the knowledge we need; if we wanted to "train" someone for it, then it would take even longer to get these updates out.

These issues with the scout car will be resolved whilst we have the opportunity to solve them, there are a considerable amount of players who enjoy the Scout and it would be unfair for us to delay further updates and not include a DLC just for issues which are being worked on. These things have to be updated eventually and it's a lot easier to do it all together rather than separately. The cars are as much as a 'menace' as trucks because collisions are caused equally between them. It will be quite a large loss for the community if they are removed as a lot of people enjoy driving them sensibly.

If you have not had lasting and good memories from these then I am sorry to hear that but many people, including myself do. Furthermore, official events have nothing to do with the update, it can take such little time to prepare official event assets and put on them on the servers, which is a huge amount less than it would take to update to 1.40. Even beyond that, these events are set up coordinated and managed by the Event Management and their team so this is not preventing work on 1.40.

Whilst I can appreciate your frustrations I thought that I'd shed some light on these issues and ensure you are aware of why these things are happening. If you have any further questions then I am at your disposal!

    Kind regards,
    Owen.

I think this new truck is amazing and I will definitely drive it on TMP when it is supported. I might even use the Renault as my main truck for a while as I think the changes they made are beautifull. ?

Great to hear! Let me know how you get on ?

I actually liked the interior and exterior of the new Renault Truck.

Performance wise would be debatable if it is good enough especially to most people who are used to 700+ HP engine but I would say it'll be capable for those who does job that requires you to drive under 100kph (62mph).

I suppose power is not everything when it comes down to it - I think a lesser engine is something I'd be willing to sacrifice for the sake of the new design! ?

I really like the new design! Especially the front turn signals look really cool with the "animation" to the outside. Looks really modern as well. Might be my second favorite truck now :)!

Glad you are enjoying it, I am really looking forward to seeing it in game, I am haven't even updated to 1.40 yet ?

I plan on using the new Renault when it's on MP, and same with Iberia when it comes out tomorrow. Will be fun going to new places in a new truck. I don't drive Renaults much, as I mainly drive DAFs,  but the new ones look nice. Maybe when Iberia and 1.40 is on TMP I'll drive the new Renault in celebration or something.

I think that is a perfect idea! I will definitely take you up on that, driving the new truck in Iberia will be a great thing to do once TMP supports the new update. ?

I will surely test it very soon and I might even use it as my main truck if I get used to it. I already liked the exterior look of the truck and with a bit of configurations, I am sure it will look even better. As for the interior, it looks even better for my taste as it looks futuristic and modern.

My current main truck is Scania and I used to drive Scania or Volvo but I am really open-minded towards other trucks and would like to give them a chance as well! ^^

That's super interesting Neptune! Let me know what you think when you test it, I am looking forward to trying it out also. The interior is very modern, you're right, I think it is up there with the Next Gen interior for me. Glad to hear you're going to give it a go though, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

It is very nice to test the new arrivals, but as a volvo driver, I got used to this truck, it makes it easier for me to drive, but I get a little tired in other trucks, it makes me a little inexperienced, I got used to the volvo, it seems difficult to switch to another truck.

I feel you there, some times I feel too attached to my Scania ?

  15. Hello everyone! Welcome to the 35th instalment of our Hot Topic.

Today SCS have brought to the game, the new Renault T and T-High facelift; we were wondering what you think of these new additions.

Are you planning on using these new trucks, and what do you think of the changes that have been made?

  16. As much as I can appreciate why this might be beneficial to easing your lives. If you are not driving then simply leave and re-join when you are back. At the end of the day, yes you are benefitting TMP through your pledges but we should not be disregarding other players joining because you want to go for a break. It does not take very much time to log out and log back into the game and therefore I don't see a lot of reasoning for this idea and as a result I am not very supportive - though I can see its benefits. -1

  17. Hey there @Florian1556

Glad to hear about your interest in reporting users, it really helps us out here at TMP in catching users who break the rules! To answer your question, if your reports abide to the rule §1.4 then you'll be absolutely fine. On top of that, once your report limit is reached then you will simply have to wait for your reports to be responded to before making new ones. Here are some articles on reporting users which you might find useful.

  18. Hello @Dubbeledraaideur [NL],

I can see why you are concerned with such questions. Hopefully I can provide you with some information regarding this which will answer your question. So, when you report someone in game through the tab menu like you have mentioned you will notice that it warns you that your past 2 minutes in game will be recorded and this is what is used to review the situation. Then a decision is made. I would say that many game moderators do often stream their content and you can often find them on Twitch and other platforms and you can see in-game how this is done.

I hope this helps you understand and I would suggest that you also use a recording software to record incidents. I use Medal.tv personally which allows you to record previous things in game by clicking a hot key - meaning you can report people on the website.

Here are some articles which might help you out:

  19. Hello Rondo994,

There is another option, rather than trying to regain your previous profile, you could create a new profile and use a tool known as TS Save Editor and you could give yourself the money and experience you once had and then you can just start again but from wherever you left off. It might be a little time consuming but can always be a back up plan if the above advice does not work etc.

    Here's the tool:

    I hope this helps,

    Owen.
