An error occurred while contacting update servers

axe_aficionado

Question

I cannot solve this problem and I have put about 4 hours into it. I have tried every fix on the forum. Changing the INetCache folder, reinstalling the client, resetting routers, etc... I'm just not sure where to go from here as TruckerMP still does not run. I am running Windows 10 (x64). Something strange as well, my friend is having the exact same error on his computer. Neither of us can run it.

Hello,

Try these steps:

  1. Run TruckersMP Launcher 'as Administrator'',
  2. Turning your router off for 1 minute or 5 min,
  3. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL keys, open the Task Manager, disable any unwanted programs you dont want running and hogging internet and turn off applications that are running on the background for TruckersMP,
  4. Download Ultrasurf and open launcher with UltraSurf,
  5. Delete TruckersMP Folders on your computer and re-install.
  6.  Try to clear your temp files https://kb.wisc.edu/page.php?id=15141
  7. Make sure you have the latest .Net Framework
  8. Clean your temp files with CCleaner
  9. Check your temp files path and make sure it's located at C:\Users\name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache
  10. If you don't have "INetCache" folder make a new folder and name it "temp" and then open the Windows temp settings and choose the new path.

Best Regards,

Hey

If you still have a problem after there steps , I am recommend you

(Re-install the Launcher)

> Go to control panels

> Then you go to Programs , and there is a TruckersMP Launcher , So you click on uninstall.

> After this step , you use keys Windows+R  and in command line you write %programdata%, there you find a folder , that is called TruckersMP and deleted it.

> Then you go to Documents and 2 folders ETS2 MP and ATS please delete.

Good Luck !

Sincerely,

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, I got a little busy yesterday. So, I tried all of the steps you both listed, and I still am unable to connect. I did notice one thing however. When I checked the temp folder it is indeed at C:\Users\name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache. However there is 0 MB of space allocated to it, and when I try to change it I can only select 8 (which upon closing and reopening changes back to 0). The folder location also does not display at the bottom like it should under "current location", but once I click on "View FIles" it is indeed located in the correct place. I think the data allocation might be the issue. I tried a few steps I saw online to fix it involving Registry changes, but they had no effect.
