but some trucks suffer higher usage damage even on low speeds then others on much faster speeds. So this would be senseless.
More like who pays how much every week/month/kilometer/mile to repair his truck. This would be better for calculating the insurance costs

Graphic engine is being fed info from other parts of the game.
So what he actually meant is that the graphic engine is getting laggy input.
Right. That's what I meant.
-
It's not the graphical part that is the problem, the problem is that the game engine exceeds its limits whith 80 or 90 people in one region.
I tried to turn down the details, but got only a speed up of 2 or 3 frames (and I was still below 10 fps) e.g. in Rotterdam

Would be a good idea as not everybody is reading the forums
Sort of like a theory test to get your drivers licence?
This has been requested a lot of times, I think, as I did this a few weeks ago as well.

Bad Idea, horns are for warning due to danger and are unfortunately misused by many players as greeting signs. Like in real life. I don't support that, it's annoying sometimes, but there is a report reason called horn spam.

Got the same problem on Ultra settings with some trailer-backlights, too.
-
Good idea, would be nice if implemented

@PusuitGamer6: Neither am I driving with a steering wheel., but with a keyboard. With a bit of training you will master that, too.
EG. I know someone who started playing two days ago and even started directly in multiplayer, driving with keyboard. He drove very good using keyboard only.
@Mikee89: Those who really want to drive would try again and by learning, they would get better and therefore the streets would get even more safe.
@skullscar: and that is one of the reasons to teach them basic rules of driving which would effect them in getting more careful and they would even learn something for the real life.
-
And then everybody starts to drive over red lights and the cities go wild as the company-ground are.
More like add non-collision zones to Hotels, job-centers, bus stations and dealers

I think it is a known issue. But in general ETS2MP has the double of the requirements of the singleplayer version.
And according to steam 4GB RAM are recommended for singleplayer. So more than 8GB should be enough. Just send the log-file. It'll help the programmers to solve this problem.
-
Not the servers in total, but the time would be enough. +1
-
And who is gonna pay for a (barely used) server? Either you do it or you get it from the mp-team, but i don't think that they will support that.
Or you try making a deal with the team that you (or a small group with your friends) is paying for that server and that you get a sponsoring rank or something like that
-
Well, that's the trickiest part of the system. Actually I haven't thought of it that much, but I think that there will be some way to make it as safe as possible.

Suggestion Name: Reducing amount of reckless, bad and troll drivers by intorducing a "license exam"
Suggestion Description: Before joining the multiplayer servers for the first time, you should do an exam on driving (theory and practice) which will be added to your mp-acc.
Any example images: Nope. (Maybe in future)
Why should it be added?: We had the discussion on the ETS-TS and concluded that we could remove the bad drivers and the number of reports by introducing a license exam.Because all the trolls and reckless drivers would have to do such an exam and had to spend some time, which they probably won't spend for doing their (troll-) things, in a single truck environment (=training Server), before entering a multitruck environment (=driving Server).
Additionally those very fresh newbes would need to have a bit of singleplayer experience as it is recommended which would make the roads more safety and a better and relaxing fun for all other (and also serious driving) players.
Of course this would put a penalty to all (once-in-a-time- and very -young-) players, but imho we had too many bad experiences - especially in the last few days.
But those who really want to play ets-mp on a serious base, would invest their time anyway.

This would add some more depth to the game by giving the player something more to work towards, like for each 5 levels of experience the limit would be raised by 20 km/h, and in general upping the "fun factor" of the game, this would allow for more experienced players to test their limits and push their trucks as far as they can/want to, taking advantage of the more powerful and expensive trucks and giving them a choise between driving economicaly or fast a
Well, there are players who cheat their levels and their money. So this is pretty useless, because those "reckless drivers" would bypass these limits anyway. And the beginners are already dangerous.
-
Sometimes, I got the same error with keyboard, maybe it would help, if you would try it more that just 2 times. Try it more often. If it still doesn't help, come here again
-
@TruCkDr1V3r: At first the devs said that they won't implement any mod. Now there is the winter-mod. So there's a chnance that some other "useful" mods will be added.
Maybe not in alpha, but in beta or final or after scs-support of ets2

Company tag
in Done
I posted the exact same suggestion a few hours ago. Look a few threads lower
EDIT: Somehow there wasn't any reply displayed when I wrote this. So this is unnecessary
-
Suggestion Name: Company tags in Name
Suggestion Description: The same principle as it is in CS or other Steam games:
If you enter a company, you'll get a company tag added to your name. (Profile should/could be connected with myvtc)
(additionally you could do the same with your country flag/abbreviation)
Example Pictures:
Basic idea:
with flags:
Why should it be added? Many players are signed in into VTC and therefore are (most of them) in a company. And in the future VTC could be integrated or completely connected to ets2mp

Try closing steam and execute steam again (and running mp as administrator).
Game/Mod is in alpha-stage, so there are a lot of known issues. So don't expect that much.
