  1. Transparency is always a good thing! When people have an understanding of why certain things are done, there's less rage. Of course you'll still have those who will keep complaining, but most people will get it :) Thanks for letting us know!

  2. Mod Version: Version 0.2.2.1.3
    Controllers Used: Xbox 360 controller
Description of Issue: Headlights from the new Scania's spawn in very late. This means that during night, people driving the new Scania will be "ghostdriving" up until just before they pass you. This happens even when draw distance is on max. It applies for both front and rear lights.
How to reproduce: Just observe when you get passed by other players in the new Scania.
Screenshots / Videos: 4 pictures showing how the Scanias are drawn in as they pass. Notice the missing lights. During night they are very hard to see until the last moment.

  3. I'm not sure how I feel about this one. While I think it's nice with some events like this, they practically take away a great driving road, and as far as I could tell, there's no proper detour. Imo, it would be better if they could make it like a random event, rather than an actual update so we can't drive there until they fix it in real life. It's cool, but I wish it was done slightly different.

  4. This suggestion seems more and more reasonable based on all the information regarding server limitations (or the lack of in this case). The ability to adjust settings like these is something I think will be very much appreciated by all users. Not just for users with a Titan, but also those with low end computers. Given the option, users can turn their settings both up and down, giving them the experience they want. You say it's developers choice, but hopefully his mind can be changed? I truly hope this becomes a thing.

  5. Nice to see some enthusiasm around this subject again! Maybe this time it will catch someones attention in the dev team :) I totally agree with you Ryeng, and I think it should be doable considering we previously (a year ago?) had the lights spawn in with the trucks. I also agree about the truck spawning, but I'm not sure of the complexity consering these issues. For all I know, there have been substantial changes within the MP code, which makes this difficult, but it would be nice to have an official word from a team member.

  6. Hi,

I have a few questions for you if you don't mind :)

Firstly, what is the top priority when it comes to features in the multiplayer mod?

Serverside economy has previously been said to be implemented once SCS stops supporting the game, and the mod goes into beta. However, it doesn't look like SCS will stop supporting the game anytime soon. Will you still stick to this plan?

This last one might be a bit more technical and specific, but is there a way to give the user control over different draw-distances? I know there are some sliders in the UI already, but even on max I can see details pop in. One example is light casted on the ground at night. On previous versions of the mod, you could see light casted by trucks far ahead, but now they just fade in right as you pass by. It's a small thing, but giving the user control over these things could provide a more optimized experience for each individual system.

    Thanks for your answers!

  7. Thanks for your replies. Yes, that's what I had in mind. It's important that this doesn't ruin it for people with less powerful computers, hence the slider. That way you could also put it all the way down to zero, so you never see the light casted, if that's your preference :)

  8. Suggestion Name: Light distance slider
Suggestion Description: I have noticed with recent updates, that the lights from headlights casted on the ground from other trucks, is only visible if you're within 100-200m of them. When trucking on a dark single lane road, it breaks the immersion when lights only fade in right as you're passing the truck. Also, if you're driving behind someone, the truck in front doesn't cast any light if you're a little too far back. I hope you understand what I'm trying to explain. I know that there were no such limit previously, where the lights would pop in within a certain distance, but my guess is that this has been implemented for optimization reasons. Therefore, my suggestion is to give the user the possibility to change this in the settings. Give us a slider to set the distance for when casted light should be drawn in. Or if you have better suggestions, feel free to share.

    Any example images

This an old pic from quite some time ago, but you can see the lights drawn from all the trucks in the distance.

    Now:

    And when close enough:

    HK1wUKT.jpg

    Why should it be added?:

Just for added realism and immersion. I understand if it's been made like this for optimization, but it would be nice to have it as a user setting, so people can set it to their preference. It's very nice to see peoples lights around corners etc. on a dark road, and was a welcomed feature when first introduced!

    Thanks for reading :)

+1  that's a good idea but now are more urgent things to do in MP :D

I agree. There are definitely more important things to do, and there always will be, most likely. But then again, it's often the details that make for a great gaming experience :)

    Thanks for the responses! :D

  10. ^I don't think you need to ban the color blue. It would still say "Pilot" and not "Police". Besides, if someone were to abuse this and pretend to be police, it's still against the rules, regardless if they have the paintjob or not, and a report should take care of the problem.

Sersly... This suggestion is from may... Like come on..

I may be biased, but why does it matter? It's not like it's been a dead thread since may. Posts have been added, and people have contributed to the suggestion. The point of a suggestion is to see what the people think about it, and to gauge the interest around the topic, is it not? If new people find the topic and likes it, I appreciate them commenting. It means that there is still some interest in the topic :)

  11. If that's true, then that's great. It would in any case be nice to get some confirmation from devs or other team members on these suggestions. Let us know if it's something they are thinking about, or if it's not a priority at all :)

  12. Suggestion Name: Synchronize air horns in atsmp
Suggestion Description: Currently, when you use your air horn, other players will only hear the standard horn. With the Arizona DLC, default air horns were added to all the trucks i ATS, which some may not even be aware of. I would assume that it is an easy thing to fix, considering it's already synced in ets2mp.

    Any example images: None

Why should it be added?: To add to the realism of the mod, by giving the players accurate sounds. When I sound my air horn, I want the other player(s) to hear that air horn, and not the regular horn. There's really not much more to this suggestion :)

Feel free to leave your thoughts on this :)

  13. Sorry for bumping this, but after the new rule review, this suggestion may be even more relevant. Many seemed upset about loosing the possibility to have custom paintjobs through save editing. Maybe making the current paintjob customizable, and possibly adding some of the truck paint jobs from the base game would be a good solution? Meaning that they would be obtainable through the repair shop in-game. That way you would avoid any crashes related to people using DLC skins and such, while catering to those who want more choices :) Also, as stated before, it would make them accessible to all players! Another option would be to create new skins for the car if that's something you'd rather do, however that was not my original suggestion, just throwing some ideas out there!

  14. Well, it shouldn't be a problem if they allow skins from high power dlc either, as it would work the same way it is now. If you haven't bought it, you will simply see a placeholder color or something along those lines. I use the dlc skins in mp often, and I believe they are all supported. (Maybe not the last ones). I'm sure the developers would have thought of it either way. :)

  15. That would be great!

Also, I never wanted for you to add custom skins, as I truly understand the hazzle. But if you decide to enable us to change the colors to the pilot skin (and also add some of the truck paint jobs, if that's something people want), then my wishes would have been granted! :D

  16. Yes, that was what I was thinking. You would get the color palette (or what it's called) like you would for the different paintjobs that you get on the trucks. So you could have any color combination you want.

  17. Yes, I am aware of that, but that is, as you're saying, save editing, which many people won't bother with or don't know how to do. I was hoping to make it more "legit" by having it as a standard option when customizing your car. That way you would also keep the writing which says "Pilot".

  18. Suggestion Name: Customizable pilot skin
Suggestion Description: Make it possible to change the colors of the pilot skin. Currently we have a red and white color combination, which looks fine, but there is no norm for exactly how it should look in the real world. So my suggestion is to make the skin customizable, so that you can have different color combinations for your pilot car. For instance orange and black, black and yellow... you get the idea. It would pretty much work the same way as paint jobs for trucks, where you can choose your own colors.

    Any example images:

    MG_4272.jpg8273576060_c472f15453_b.jpg

Why should it be added?: It seems like a simple thing to do (not sure tho) and would make it possible to match trucks and cars for roleplay purposes, or just to make it possible for the players to have a color combination they find more fitting than the red&white combo. Let me hear your thoughts :)

Btw, I wasn't 100% sure where to put this suggestion as it relates to both ATS and ETS. Also, I did search through the forums, but I couldn't find a suggestion quite like this. However, there are many topics about the cars currently, so correct me if I'm wrong!

    Thanks for reading :)

  19. Next time I'll make you wait 10 mins, not because I want to, but because I'm bad/slow at skilled parking. Have fun, enjoy a coffee or 10.

Which is fine. That's how you learn to park. By practicing. It's not like it's a matter of life or death when we're playing ats. Yesterday I was sat up in a traffic jam for 20-30 min or so, around Oxnard. I didn't mind at all. Every other driver was patient and respectful as well, and only a very few tried to cut the line. A lot of people on here are very patient and respectful, but you'll always have those who aren't.

Also, as have been stated by others, the area is too small for a NCZ to be effective. You will end up having trucks that can't leave the zone, simply because you always have a trailer/truck inside you when you reach the border of the zone, causing even more problems. Besides, it's a minority of jobs that goes to these areas, so there shouldn't be too much traffic there in the first place. -1 from me

  20. Think of how messy it would be at the border of that zone, considering you can exit everywhere if you wanted to, and the zone would be so small, that most of the time, other trucks would be inside you or your trailer, causing flying trucks everywhere. And to be honest, traffic jams is a part of traffic in real life. Why shouldn't it be simulated here? And if you dislike the traffic jams, you should choose your jobs more wisely, and don't take the jobs that goes to these areas.

  21. I agree with many people here. These places should be kept as they are. I recently did a job to a place like this, and it worked out fine. I had a guy delivering a load at the exact same spot after me, so I did my best to hurry up, drop the load, skip through the menus and get out of the way. Honestly, it's not a huge problem at all if you just pay respect to each other. So -1 from me.

  22. ^That's an interesting statement. Then what is multiplayer for? Just flying through other trucks, whereever you go? I guess you like the freeroam server that used to be. IMO, the mp mod is for those who want realistic traffic, where there are actual people who are driving around you. They react to your moves, and you react to theirs. If there were no CZ, then all the fun of mp would be gone. It's that sense of respect and aknowledgement from other drivers that makes the experience.
