They were meant to focus more on in game reports but that seems to have not happened and every in game report just gets timed out,

To be fair - TruckersMP 2023 Recap reveals that 136 in-game reports are made every hour on average. Lets say 3 minutes are needed to review every report in detail. This means every moderator can handle 20 reports per hour. This means we need 7 moderators on average (probably twice that in peak times and half that on graveyard times) only doing in game reports just to keep the reports at 0. On top of that we need moderators to do live moderation along CD and on problematic areas on CD. That could easily add up to another 10 game moderators just watching CD. Lets pretend it's peak hours. In order for reports not to get timed out we need 14 moderators in game only doing reports. On top of that we need at least 10 moderators watching over CD. That's at least 24 moderators needed for peak hours.
Considering the team consists of volunteers you can just imagine the size of the moderation team alone if we need consistent 14 game moderators online at once on average throughout the day.

Let's say the average game moderator spends 2 hours in game every day doing moderator work (might even be a bit high, they are volunteering and have jobs, family and other (moderator-out-of-game-)stuff to take care of as well). Thats 12 moderators needed every day to fill out that one moderator position. Let's add up the numbers from before. 17 moderators doing 2 hours of in game work every day. 12 "shifts" needed to cover 24 hours. Thats 204 moderators needed to fulfill the bare minimum of moderator work per day. On top of that we need to take LOA in to account - and we need some extra moderators to watch over event servers etc. So let's say 220 moderators needed to cover the daily moderator work known to the public.

Thats a big team only doing in-game moderation work.

And above is based on game moderators only doing moderation work. Meaning they don't get time to do driving with their friends in VTC or otherwise get to just enjoy themselves.

  2. Just because you don't see GMs in game doesn't mean they're not there.

A lot of GMs enjoy, or prefer, "lurking" instead of flashing their red name all over the place. So just because you don't see a red name doesn't mean they're not watching.

With all the action taking place on CD road alone, it would require that 20% of all players are game moderators to watch every single inch on the road to take instant action. Which obviously isn't possible - or wanted.

  3. It is all about protecting personal details. Not just for staff, but also for the player getting banned.

It does not concern the public how long the player gets banned. That is a personal detail only concerning the banned player and the TruckersMP Team. The public don't need that information.

Another reason for this, is that the length issued is often subject to change, so removing it will remove some confusion when x amount of time is said at one time but it turns out to be y amount of time instead.

i guess the 7 day cap is exempt when the report has not been claimed cause its been 2 weeks and it got accepted

7 day rule is still valid. What that rule means, is that you have to have the report created before 7 days after the incident. Then it doesn't matter that there is a long wait for it to be checked.

But it also means, that if you are able to create 10 reports before hitting the limit and you have 12 reports to make, then the remaining 2 reports might end up being invalid if there is a huge load on the report system - because you might not be able to make the report within 7 days of the incident.

Let me explain through the example you gave.
We have a server with 5000 player capacity. let's look at the maximum number of players on the server at the end of a week. let's say we have between 4000 and 4300 players on the server.

With the idea I proposed, the player capacity of the server with a maximum player capacity of 5000 will decrease to 4750 thanks to the dynamically written code. or let's consider the opposite scenario, we will increase the capacity and our new capacity will be 5250.

But why "limit" the server to 4500 if it the server can actually handle 5000? Why not let it stay at 5000 at all times since it is the maximum capacity.

I know what you said is really true. but my suggestion was not about moving the slots on the server. it was about dynamically decreasing or increasing the capacity of the slots according to the number of players inside.

What would the difference be from having, let say, 5000 slots at maximum and only making 4000 of them available? 1000 of them will just go to waste then. Or am I misunderstanding something?

  7. Difference between Game moderators having streamer mode and players don't, is that it is a legal requirement (GDPR) for Game Moderators to hide usernames and other identifying factors if they decide to stream er moderation session. That's not the case for players.

Hello I can see your comment but every time there are accidents on this road everyone rushes in it it would be cool to just change the road put a double lane so that it drives better

If you don't like sitting in traffic then don't go to places that has traffic. Traffic = accidents. No matter where you encounter traffic.

  9. Are you seriously suggesting that players can blacken out their truck and drive through the night with no lights on? If that is so, then no. Just.. No. I am terrified that you even feel like suggesting that.

Enough morons are already abusing the 15 seconds they can drive without lights on. Don't expand the 15 seconds to last the entire night.

  10. No. Making CD in to a motorway will only move the traffic somewhere else. People aren't on that road because they HAVE to be there. They are there because of the traffic. And if you remove the traffic/interaction with traffic then players are just going elsewhere.

It will be as deserted as any other motorway on the map.

If there actually was a legit reason to have that much traffic (i.e. game says "This road is a must to do before you can buy your own truck"), then it would be something else. But people don't have to be there. They could go somewhere else. And they will if this happens - mainly because they don't to drive on motorways. They want to drive with traffic to interact with.

It's simple, tbh. No one forces you to go on that road to progress your game. You choose to go on that road. If you don't like the road then don't go there.

  11. People wont stop chatting just because you disable it while they're in motion. I fear that people just slam the breakes instead and cause issues because of that. I would rather have them drive with their chat open than have them slam on the brakes on CD road just to type a 3 letter word.
