Pilot Car

Ka_Tray

Question

Hello,

I have decided to become and drive a pilot car just to enjoy escorting the convoy with my friends...

But I am scared to become one of them because I don't wanna get banned for making any mistake as a pilot car.

So, I came here to ask how should I avoid any mistakes or rules that I have to follow as a pilot car?

Hello @Ka_Tray,

You simply have to follow the TMP game rules, and the in-game traffic signs.

Here I will leave you a link where you will see the TMP rules:

https://truckersmp.com/rules

A tip: Use the speed limiter when you use the car, to avoid accidents and the car flipping over in a curve. And keep distance between the other vehicles.

Best regards,

Hi,

You can find a short guide how to driving a pilot car in a convoy here:

https://forum.truckersmp.com/index.php?/topic/32968-how-to-pilot/

However, please be aware that all rules on TruckersMP, especially §2 - "Game only rules", continue to apply to you while driving a pilot car. (https://truckersmp.com/rules)

Cheers,

Templa

Thanks! Here's my two questions:

1. Is it ok to be pilot car without having CB or TeamSpeak active on? The reason of this is because I am deaf and mute in real life.

2. Is it ok to block the road like merging road, traffic light road etc, to let the convoy pass?

Hey @Ka_Tray

Here I will answer your questions:

1. is it ok to be a car driver without having CB or TeamSpeak active on? The reason for this is because I am deaf and mute in real life.

- There is no problem if you turn CB off.

2. Is it ok to block the road, e.g. intersection, traffic light, etc., to let the convoy pass?

- With the pilot car you cannot block roads or give way to someone from your company or convoy, this is against the rule:

§2.6 - Inappropriate Convoy Management / Car Abuse*

Convoys are expected to follow all TruckersMP rules without altering the normal traffic flow. Convoy pilots are not permitted to slow down, block, control traffic and act as a staff member or otherwise abuse the pilot scheme paint job. It's not permitted to organise a convoy in the following areas when highly populated: Kirkenes quarry (ProMods map), the Duisburg to Calais road, and in the cities of Calais and Duisburg. More than 5 players driving together is classed as a convoy.
