Game crashes when I change truck

Question

I am playing ets2 offline so I have not tried this online but every time I try to change truck me game crashes. I have tried this with more that 1 truck and I have also tried this with and without my mods on but my game crashes every time. Is there something I can do to stop my game crashing and change trucks?

First of all, Welcome in Help Section on TruckersMP Forums.  :tmp:

 

Im sorry to hear, that you are having issues with crashing game while you taking another truck  anyway, this is known problem and I will try to help you as soon as possible. 

 

Here, I will post a some possible solutions regarding your issue. Hopefully, they will fixed your problem

 

 

1. Solution - Verify integrity of in-game files

- Go to Steam Library

- Right Click on Euro Truck Simulator 2 

- Properties 

- Local files - verify integrity of game files - it will take a some time (depends, where you have installed your game) SSD,HDD, so wait until it will finished.

 

2. Solution - Start TruckersMP as Administrator, this is really important! 

 

3. Solution - Also try to start TruckersMP with DirectX (64)

Guide:

> Go to your steam App
> Go to library
> Go to ETS 2 / ATS
> Click "Play" 
> Choose "Launch with DirectX (64-bit). Make sure you chose 64 bit.
> Start ETS 2
> Choose your profile and press "drive"
> Close ETS 2
> Start TruckersMP as admin. TruckersMP will start with DirectX for all time. Except you change it again.

 

 

4. Solution - Re-instalation of TMP Client/Launcher

  • Press the Windows Key + R (Win+R) on your keyboard
  • Enter "%programdata%" and press Enter (without the quotes)
  • Find the folder "TruckersMP" and delete that folder.
  • Go to documents and delete this folders called (ETS2MP, ATSMP) 
  • Navigate to C:\Program Files\ and delete the folder named "TruckersMP Launcher"
  • Go to our website and re-download and install the Launcher with admin privileges https://truckersmp.com/download/
  • Open The Launcher with admin privileges and click "Install Available Updates"

 

Also, please do not forget to have latest drivers of your Graphic card.

Hi @paton.91

 

You may be experiencing such a problem due to the save file you are using.  Follow the solutions below in order.  The problem will be solved.

 

Solution 1: 

  • Go to Steam Library 
  • Right Click on ETS2 
  • Properties 
  • Local Files
  • Click on verify of in-game files

 

Solution 2:

  •  Press the Windows Key + R (Win+R) on your keyboard
  •  Enter "%programdata%" and press Enter (without the quotes)
  •  Find the folder "TruckersMP", "ETS2MP" and delete that folder.
  •  Navigate to C:\Program Files\ or C:\Program Files (x86)\  and delete the folder named "TruckersMP Launcher"
  •  Go to our website and re-download and install the Launcher with admin privileges 

 

Solution 3:

  •  Run TruckersMP in compatibility mode for Windows 10, please follow this guide https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/set-compatibility-mode-windows-10
  •  Run the program as an administrator (right-click the shortcut and select 'run as an administrator' and accept the UAC prompt. 
  • Install the following programs:
  • .NET Framework 4.6.2: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53344
  • VisualC++ 2015,2017,2019 (64bit) : https://aka.ms/vs/16/release/vc_redist.x64.exe

 

Solution 4:

  • Delete the "save" file you used and create a profile again
